One of the top prospects in Indiana.
#59 in ESPN's top 60.
Jason Gardner sr. played at IU, I believe. Very good player back in the day.

Stand corrected...guess he played HS ball in indiana.Arizona
Yeah, that'll be a real tough pull!Stand corrected...guess he played HS ball in indiana.
He was Indiana's Mr.BB in 1980.
Currently on coaching staff at Arizona.
Would be surprised if his son does not play at zona.
His dad asst for women’s team. Former HC at coe and upper Iowa and mom played at uni early 00s.A bit off topic and way early but I saw a 7th grader the other night who is going to be a player. I know he is playing under developed competition but you can see it. Handles, rebounding, defense. Scoring at this level is very easy but it is everything else in his game that is eye popping.
Cedar Falls Peet Jr. high. Cayden Oakland. His family has connection at UNI of course but IMHO this kid is going to get some looks.
His grandma is one of the best human beings I've ever met in my entire life.A bit off topic and way early but I saw a 7th grader the other night who is going to be a player. We just offered #34 Jalen Davis from Washington today. He has offers from Gonzaga, Houston, and some other programs but I am hoping Ethan Harris (and the coaches obviously) will recruit him hard to Iowa!
Yesterday Ben and assistant coach Connor Wheeler were in Illinois to watch 6'1"four-star point guard Jaxson Davis (Warren Township high school; Gurnee, IL)

Until he visits Iowa City, I think our chances are slim to none.6'5" four-star wing Jack Kohnen is one of Iowa's top targets. He's out of Slinger, WI.
Josh Sash was in the Milwaukee suburbs on Monday night to watch him live.

Iowa is for sure in it, he loves McCollum and staff. We're recruiting him heavily. I would't count on any official visits until summer/fall - from anyone.Until he visits Iowa City, I think our chances are slim to none.
Sadly, TJ at ISU seems to have a hammerlock on SE Wisconsin region and is involved with this recruit. I'm more worried about Wisconsin with the Kohen bros. You're not wrong though...hopefully TJ finds himself at Kansas or UNC quickly!Sadly, TJ at ISU seems to have a hammerlock on SE Wisconsin region and is involved with this recruit. That pipeline has kept ISU near top of big 12 since TJ arrived.
A guard from Saint Louis, Jimmy McKinney, has told people that Iowa is in the lead for his recruitment. His dad was a player at Mizzou.
6’4 PG; Wauwatosa West High School (Milwaukee, WI).
Rivals rates him as a 4 star prospect.

I think this kid could be legit
Maybe, but he freaking LOVES McCollum, Sash, and how we used guards.It might be an uphill battle against Wisconsin. He called the offer a "dream come true" although anything can happen.

We're being aggressive with guards this cycle, as we should. But make no mistake, McCollum remains picky. He mentioned in an interview that '27 was heavy with high quality guard talent. This would explain our seemingly extreme selectiveness with the '26 cycle.How many total guys have we offered? Seem to have cast a wide net...
I'm much more confident about Thompson sticking around than I was before his interview.

I am too. Impressed by his confidence, abilities, and character. He sure seems to be devoted to Ben and the program, as well as learning from the seniors.How many total guys have we offered? Seem to have cast a wide net...

All 4 stars. I like it.13 offers so far for 2027:
--> 7 Point Guards
--> 3 shooting guards
--> 3 Small Forwards
4 of the 13 have committed to other schools.
Link to those 13 players:

We have posters concerned about next season losing Stirtz and his scoring. Aside from bringing in a point guard the scoring may come more from the wings and up front. Whether Banks returns or not Thompson I think will play a big role in the rotation. Add to that Harris for when we want to play small. Sage can score and hopefully gets better with his three ball.I am too. Impressed by his confidence, abilities, and character. Don't rule out Combs. Does't turn the ball over and is a solid defender. You also left Cooper off your list, he will only get better.We have posters concerned about next season losing Stirtz and his scoring. Then you add in the bigs with Folgueiras just getting better. Jirak seems looks like he can develop an effective shot and already passes really well from the high post. We have the right coach to stir the pot right.
Thanks for pointing this out. I like Cooper and think he has much potential. I only listed the players I did because of their immediate potential to contribute offensively. I like Combs too whether we get much scoring from him or not. Spot on observation from you.Don't rule out Combs. Does't turn the ball over and is a solid defender. I think Combs will avg 10-12ppg next year. His # will be getting called a lot with Stirtz gone. Surround him with shooters and he will do some damage in the paintDon't rule out Combs. Does't turn the ball over and is a solid defender. You also left Cooper off your list, he will only get better.
