If NB pins LL, OSU has a shot. If Davino wins, they have a chance, but still slightly below 50% I would guess. Mendez pins and Feldman wins…..they are at 18.

We should win 6 bouts and if they are just decisions, we are at 17. I am counting on Davis kicking Mendez’s ***……-1.

If Luke wins, they need a miracle. If Marcus also wins, we should have National Duals- Non-Participant banners unfurl from the rafters.

I expect lots of fireworks.

So with Cannon out…it appears the dual is out of reach for OSU (I always thought it was…but admittedly they had a shot) with that will Tan Tom, the guy who medical forfeited his own healthy son to drop to the consolation rounds of bigs rather than face Retherford, duck anyone else?

Ryan had his son forfeit to avoid Nolf, not Retherford, but your point stands. Wrestling either of those dudes would be less fun than a root canal.

That's not true either. It was at 2017 B10s. Jake Ryan was the 11 seed, Jason was the 1. They could not have met until the finals.

That's an idea so incredibly bizarre that it never crossed my mind. Which means I can't rule it out.

Math-wise: Jake Ryan went 1-2 with a pin in consis --> 2.5 pts.

Had he beaten Murphy and lost to Berger in the quarters, he would've drawn the 12-13 winner in Consi Round 2. So right there is 1.5 pts assuming no bonus over the 12-13 winner. Next would've been Elite Van Brill ...

OK, now it makes more sense lol.

I don't know. I really liked the excitement in the 1 vs 7 PSU v Maryland match up. Especially how SVN recovered from being pinned (per Clemsen).

I think at this point Cannon will sit vs PSU which may result in his keeping the #1 for Big10s.

Antrell and PJ get the #2 & #3 respectively and meet in the semis. My money is on PJ, regardless, whomever wins that match abuses Cannon in the finals. If there were justice, Cannon would drop out of the #1, and PJ and Antrell meet in the finals, but I don't see that happening.

PS - I am still pissed at that Ref.

In a WrestleStat comparison, it is putting Mirasola over Feldman. Is there info out there as to why it would do this? Feldman has the high rank, wins over Misasola's losses, and it's not like he is a freshman with no history to analyze. Just curious.

It's does some odd things at times. It had a Bellarmine kid majoring Caliendo. WS is awesome and has tons of information. But using it for comparisons isn't its best feature that's for sure

Wrestle start has 4 lower Iowa wrestlers beating OSU. While PSU 3 wrestlers only ranked 1 number lower all projected to loose. Why's that??

Andrade is an Iowa fan and used to tweak his algorithm continuously in the old days responding to Iowa fans blasting him for confirming that Iowa was no longer dominant with his tool.

My bet is that he got sick of all the tinkering one day and just said “f it, how about I just plug ‘Iowa wrestler = +X’ into the algorithm” one day. Or at least it seemed that way a few years ago and not much has changed since.

Slight gut check when PJ hurt his shoulder last night. True shoulder injuries are death in wrestling. Don't be shocked if we see Joe Sealy against Ohio State, especially if Cannon is out again, which is likely.
