No. 5 Rutgers Women's Soccer Travels West for NCAA College Cup / Friday, Dec. 3 @ 7 p.m.

Tough loss, 1-0. Cheap goal off a corner, ball bounced the right way for FSU. Rutgers played confidently and hard, and had their best moments in last 10 minutes as they tried to tie it.

OT: Anybody seeing this crazy lightning storm?

My wife and I both felt our house shake from the wind. House was built in 1922, and is solid as a rock. Have to see that kind of wind speeds there were. We’re in Red Bank.

OT: RIP Mary Ann (Dawn Wells)

I read yesterday that she was close to Natalie Schafer, who played “Lovie” and was born in Red Bank, and cared for her in the final years of her life. Natalie had apparently done well buying real estate, and had some money, and left half to Dawn. But that was about thirty years ago when Lovie died.

    OT: RIP Joe Clark

I remember Joetta running in the NJ cross country championship at Holmdel Park in November ‘78. Her name kind of found a spot in my long term memory section, being it’s different, so I remembered her when she started doing well in college and after. Then I found out she was Joe’s daughter - and...

What if this joke bowl name became reality?

Fans from the Doug Graber era would remember BC QB Glenn Foley’s comment about the Toilet Bowl. When asked, after BC had beaten us at the Meadowlands in ‘92, about RU’s bowl prospects, his response was, “The only bowl game Rutgers is going to was the one I just got off”.

    Alamo Bowl

After the Texas Bowl, I took my kids to San Antonio to show them the town they were born in. The Alamo Bowl was two days after our game, so it worked out great, being there in the midst of this great bowl game. That year was Iowa-Texas, and the night before the game was very cool on the...

What Might Have Been - 13 Years Ago Today in Rutgers Football History

I remember watching the Rutgers-WVU game in ‘06, hoping we’d win and go Orange Bowl. We played a great first half, so I took the opportunity to buy four round trip air tickets to Fort Lauderdale, hoping to beat the crowd. When James Townsend couldn’t hold that pass late in the game, and we ended...

    Another One Who Got Away

Another good one who got away is Maurice Ffrench of New Brunswick, who had a great season for Pitt, breaking Larry Fitzgerald’s record for touchdowns in a season, I think it was. He had a great game in Pitt’s bowl win over Eastern Michigan, though the MVP was Kenny Pickett of Ocean, NJ. That’s...

    OT: Imus Dead

I was listening when reports of a plane hitting the first tower were reported by Imus. Werner Wolf called into the show to give an eye witness account from his Manhattan pad, which had a birds eye view of the Twin Towers, when the second plane hit the other tower. One of those events where you...
