You guys really believe LSU isn't going to be hit hard by the NCAA with some major sanctions? Just because the university reinstated Wade, it doesn't mean LSU isn't getting punished.

I don’t care about the NCAA. They are a senile old man.

LSU should have some decency and do the right thing.

Depending on the nature of the wiretap, context would be nonexistent. But again we don’t know exactly what was said on tape. But I’m sure LSU does. And if they don’t. They should be finding out.

It’s a damn disgrace. Guess the old adage is true. The only way powerful people get in trouble these days is to be caught in bed with a live boy or a dead woman.

I don't think Wade will be coaching LSU next season. Everyone is currently in CYA mode.

College athletics is a complete ish show, some refs cheat, some coaches cheat, some schools cheat, the ncaa is a cheater. They selectively enforce and intentionally look away if it benefits their money maker. You can call me paranoid or tin foil hat but I’m not oblivious with my head up my own @**.

All have committed NCAA violations and have had agents paying for players to attend said schools WITH NO CONSEQUENCES. Why should LSU fire Wade, who is bringing in top classes and being successful in the process?

If an FBI investigation doesn’t motivate an organization to start taking responsibility and do their job in cleaning up a sport, I don’t think anything will. The amount of money and power involved is the greatest obstacle to justice and always has been. A fair judiciary is the only tool left for those who have no resources going up against those who do. Maybe the citizens who love the sport should sue these coaches/schools and the NCAA for lack of institutional control and management. Very frustrating.

Because a wiretap by a federal agency isn’t proof enough? It’s a wiretap. And I’m sure it was on a cellphone in his name and number. How the HELL do you worm your way out of that? I’m beginning to think, with the current climate, Pitino actually had a legitimate complaint.

College athletics is surely on life support.
Believe the tap was on Dawkins not Wade.

Courts are mostly crap too. It’s getting close to pitchforks and torches time. Metaphorically speaking right now of course.

LSU should have some decency and do the right thing.
An athletic booster for LSU just got busted for embezzlement of over $800,000 from a hospital that treats children's cancer and the funds went to various LSU sports programs ...

I'm not sure LSU or even the state of Louisiana is gonna be a beacon of virtue you're looking for. Just saying.

I understand. Just sick of it. The way the world is right now, basic decency should be a model for sainthood. Why? Because even that is apparently too damn hard.

Yes I know. Wades phone wasn't tapped. Dawkins phone was tapped, Wade just happened to be who he was talking to. Dawkins was the subject of the FBI investigation not Wade, hence why Dawkins is on trial not Wade.

Potato-Tomato as far as LSU should be concerned. Kinda of like a mafia defense. “Hey, I just said someone should whack that guy. I didn’t actually do it!”

I understand what your saying. I’m just saying LSU doesn’t need to meet the same burden of proof as a court of law.

I'm sure he is excited to come back and coach whoever is left at LSU.

and he knows he'll never put another team like that together again.

LSU basketball coach Will Wade reinstated; Wade: 'I am humbled and grateful ... sincerely apologize'

"After a suspension lasting more than a month, LSU basketball coach Will Wade has been reinstated.

The school's decision was announced Sunday afternoon, along with a statement from Wade that he was "humbled and grateful" to return to his coaching job.

"I would like to express my appreciation," Wade said in a statement. " ... And I sincerely apologize to the university and our fans for the disruption to the university and the program."

Wade met with university officials on Friday for the first face-to-face meeting since being suspended on March 8

LSU Athletic Director and Vice Chancellor Joe Alleva said in his statement that Wade answered "all questions and denied any wrongdoing in connection with recently reported allegations of irregularities in college basketball recruiting."

“The University regrets that Coach Wade did not choose to fulfill his obligations to LSU when he was first asked to do so," Alleva said. "However, the seriousness of the allegations and Coach Wade’s prior refusal to refute them could not be ignored without exposing the University and the basketball program to great risk. Protecting LSU and preserving our integrity must always be our first priority."

I don't believe a damn word of this.

In all seriousness ... LSU doesn’t have a choice until Wade is made to testify or NCAA can prove his guilt. I doubt this is end of the Wade & LSU story. LSU would be forced to prove his guilt if they fired him now.

I'm not sure I can agree to that. If I'm your boss, the Pres., of LSU, and I call you in to my office, and you refuse to come, and you also make a statement that you won't talk to me, I believe that is solid ground to fire anyone.

Grounds to fire? ... yes.
Grounds to not pay his buyout clause? ... not without a huge lawsuit

Like I stated, I don’t think Wade coaches another game for LSU. This is just posturing. They know they’re toast next year and until trials are over. LSU wants to get out of this without paying a big buyout. LSU won’t owe a penny if Wade has to testify, or if Dawkins has to testify about the tapes.

Wade took a MONTH off without speaking to his boss. If I were his boss I would be like:

Hate to break the news to some of you but it wasn't the who NCAA reinstated Wade. LSU did that on their own.

I mean insubordination would be dismissal with cause right? I know if I didn’t talk to my boss for a month I’d be fired with cause. And couldn’t file unemployment.

Beginning to think being a college professor/coach is the easiest job on the planet to not get fired from.

Fire him now and LSU has pay buyout or Wade takes them to court for firing w/o cause. Wade will say, “Conversation was taken out of context, yada, yada, yada...”

Let FBI do their work and LSU doesn’t owe a penny. Plus, fans cannot complain when Wade gets busted.

This is exactly what will happen. LSU is just waiting for the NCAA to bring forth the evidence and then they will fire Wade. They are not UNC* cheaters.

I don't believe a damn word of this.

If he did nothing wrong why would he apologize? He’s a slippery smug sob.

I think of Will Wade as the shady car salesman he is...

"This 1989 Escort still runs great. Only on its 3rd engine. Might have to watch that canooter valve and change the headlight fluid every three months though. Other than that Ford has always made a reliable car. The old woman who drove this car over 999,999 miles just used all those miles going to church. How would you like to finance this gem today?"

If LSU had a shred of decency they would have kept him on suspension until this is sorted.

The proof is undeniable.

I would be aghast if Kentucky made such a decision facing similar circumstances.

All that's gone on in college basketball in recent years and Kentucky is still the poster child of cheating in so many people's eyes for something that happened 30 damn years ago.

I’m sure will wade changed his number and bought a burner phone. No decent player will want to play there now with the shot they are going to take and parents don’t want their kids playing for a known cheater unless they are getting paid also. He will do it again that’s a guarantee. People call Bruce pearl a cheater, but having a recruit over for a barbecue, is nothing compared to what will wade and adidas schools did. Wade is pure scum and I hope they never win a damn thing again. Did naz Reid declare I’m assuming?
