I agree with OP. He won't be called upon to score or be an offensive post presence. His shooting ability from 15 will be huge to spread and let the guards / wings drive.

On D he has the tools to guard quicker players and the length/hops to take bigger guys too.

Rim protector, rebounder, and lob finisher next year.

We had two studs in Travis and PJ, and with Richards on the bench. We still couldn’t get it done.

You’re saying EJ is the answer?! Okay

I think a full off season of weight training and bulking up will do wonders for EJ's game. Not sure why many on here act like players can't get better.

Of course he can, but it comes down to coaching as well. Can he be effectively utilized? I question utilization more than anything.

To steal a line from Cal... is that your hope or your opinion?

I have hope for EJ, but I have to see far more before I can picture him turning into a "force."

We all complain about players not staying. Yet same breath cant imagine ej being a stud next year? I don’t understand. Yes he needs to get stronger around the basket and get some interior moves. Imagine ej as a senior??? Sad he won’t be here this long cause he will be in the nba by then that’s the potential he has. He will have boogie ad kat over the summer training with him. Kenny P is the man developing big men. Yes I’m not saying ej will be all American type player next year but he’s definitely a guy who could avg close to a double double. I warned people beginning of the year to calm expectations on him as he was still raw. Guess what he was. He got his five star for his ceiling not where he was at currently. Same with nick Richards. Nick is even further back cause he hasn’t played his whole life. In fact I expect nick to be the rim protector we all know he can be next year. We saw the potential he has on the offensive side and he will continue the growth next year. Nick was always going to be a 3 or 4 year guy he was that raw. Ej is just not tough enough to play inside yet but he will be. Not hard to figure out

EJ will be a force down low next year. Everyone worried about no post presence. As a former college athlete, I can’t tell you the growth that kids have between freshman and sophomore year. He will absolutely be a good rim protector, and avg. double digits rebounds.

We don’t need him to score 15 a game. He will be exactly what we need. He’s exactly the kind of athlete that will gain the confidence, knowing his time has arrived. Bash away lol

I’m really excited about EJ’s upcoming sophomore season! With the perimeter players Cal is bringing in to go along with him, Ashton and IQ we will be an excellent team who can win 30 games and be a strong Final Four contender.

Not bold. I agree with you 100%. Well except maybe about the double digit rebounds. That's only been done I think 3 times at UK in the past 40 years (K.Walker, Davis, Randle). But I think he will be our best player, at least all-SEC 1st team, going for 16 & 8 a game.

16 and 8? Who in the world are you talking about?

I hope you're right and I think he has all the physical tools he needs. It seems to me like he gets down on himself easily.

That’s super false, but you’re a negative Cal hater so it’s not surprising.

PJ, WCS, Poy, Lamb, T. Jones, Dakari, Harrison twins, Ulis, Liggins and even Jorts think your take is asinine and kind of stupid.
Yeah, that take was pretty odd. WCS ended up being a consensus first-team All American.

If you didn't see improvement in Richards and Montgomery over the course of the year, I don't know what to tell you.

They got better and will continue to get better.
Well you got me on Richards. I saw zero improvement.

I don't see you denying what I posted. You were an *** with regards to the opinions of others, then you want to tell everyone how they should respond.

So in reality, YOU are the "complete jackass". You got busted. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror. Your behavior in this thread is that of a troll.

lol. love it. keep it coming. You sound like one of the playground bullies! What I get tired of is when the playground bullies with a million posts get on here and start talking sh*t to new people or those with fewer post counts when they don't agree with them. it's a blast of "he's a troll"....."mods pleases get rid of this troll"...."you must hate your life"...just stupid *** responses. those are the types of responses i'm really talking about. I mean there's a tolerance level I suppose. laughing at a thread among other things isn't what i'm talking about. it's the BS direct calling someone a name or blasting/judging them like the playground bullies do that is just ridiculous.

Not just this thread but others as well. He’s a moron. Apparently a high profile software engineer too lmfao. Yup another keyboard warrior. Just ignore his stupidy. He argues but offers no substance

The only thing you are correct about is the software part. Other than that you're a complete tool. Everyone laughed at your ignorant post that made zero sense. Take a bow again genius.

No don't disagree, kid has a ton of natural athletic ability and will need time gettingt the ball in his hands to learn how to score just like PJ did. PJ could not have looked more lost offensively most of his freshman year. Then the game starts to slow down, they learn to calm down and not rush things and their ability shows through.

I already said EJ will be a 10 rebound per game guy next year and think he can add 12 points as well with a couple of blocks. We also already saw him mature in his rim protection in limited play to where he would hold his water and not jump at every driver or head fake and stay on the ground until time to react and when he does he's a beast around the rim with great natural timing IMO

It will never be good enough for some...

-Too many one and dones....
-Why aren't these players coming back, we need experience
-Honestly these guys should transfer, not good enough
-These 2nd-3rd year guys just aren't gonna get better
-Why aren't we getting more elite freshman, the returning guys won't cut it

People are gonna complain...I'm just used to it by now

Well, I'm not trying to be a bully, but if you go back and read your posts in this thread, you'll see that you acted like a d*ck. I simply called you to the carpet on it.

Are you denying you posted like a troll in this thread?

100% correct.

It’s frustrating to read all of the complaints about not keeping players long enough, then read posts questioning the talent and potential of the players that probably will return.
