The only reason Im even remotely open to the tin foil theories he's done is the hard cast. We were told Wed he had a sprain and he may play Thursday, he may just rest it for Saturday. Thursday comes and hes in a hard cast. "Well, its to help expedite the healing. Hopefully he'll be good on Saturday." B.S. man. Dont piss on me and tell me its raining. I will buy putting that cast on to keep it immobile for a week so he is fine, but 2 days? Child please. Im sure someone in the medical field on here can cite a few one off examples showing its plausible, but any reasonable person saw that and knew he wasnt going tomorrow either.

I dont want to say it was a lie, but Im not sure what else to call the reports and answers we got. And that is the only reason I will leave the door open to the possibility he's done. I still say its all precautionary, he'll be good next Thursday as it is supposedly a mild sprain, and people need to relax. But if it turns out this has all been a bunch of bs and things go differently, theres going to be some salty fans for sure.

So, I've read this entire thread, and I've come to a couple of conclusions.

1) You're kind of a jerk. Not sure if you are one in reality, but you are definitely a jerk store on this board.

2) You don't know anything or have any sources. You actually let it slip in a post where you said "I think he can play". I thought you were sure he was done for the year?

3) You are rolling the dice on being able to say "I told you so" if he doesn't play again. For some reason, being right about this seems really important to you. Very weird and creepy.

4) You cast our players aside if they don't win enough for you. That's bush league, dude. All most fans want us effort, and PJ has given us that for two years.

All of this is IMO of course.

A well thought out lucid response. It doesn't mean a thing to the intended as the intended is a trouble-maker...

I don't think he will play again either. It is weird how they handled it.

IMO - he never went and saw a specialist on Wednesday. He was in a cast and they didn't want him at the open practice/media interviews in a cast. I'm not sure why, since they knew he would have to show up in it the next day at the game.

Cal knew on Wednesday PJ had no shot of playing this weekend but danced around the question. That is why I don't believe anything the UK people are saying right now.

I hope I'm wrong and I hope we win tomorrow so that he has a chance to play next Friday.

PJs dad's comments dont sound at all like PJ is shutting it down. Its clear hes calling out the fans who are jumping off the ledge and telling them to chill the eff out. He's saying stop berating PJ, treat him like he was your kid with an injury. You wouldnt harass your own child. He came back to help win a title, and sitting obviously wouldnt help that. I actually feel better about seeing PJ on Thursday after reading his dad's comments.

^^^^Thank You^^^

For clearly stating the obvious. Evidently, some on here have issues seeing things clearly. Either their disdain for Cal, or the OAD system, or just all around sad people with way too much of an emotional stake in a ball game.

Whichever one of the above, it is still sad. Our fans are the best and the worst sometimes.

My $.02–hope like Hell he plays. If he doesn’t, I will chalk it up to bad luck. PJ has done NOTHING to make me think twice about his passion for UK basketball and his loyalty to his teammates. If he can play, he will play.

So your opinion is that every single person involved in this is lying thru their teeth, but you saw right thru it? Cool story.

Lol. It’s not complicated. Read the quotes and article. PJ could play. Cal expected him to play. PJ is a projected lottery pick now which was not the case this time last year. It is what it is. PJ is not playing because they want to make sure his NBA future isn’t compromised. I get it. At this point the slightest injury is a risk when you are a lottery pick. Just call it what it is.
We’ve had at least 20 lottery picks since Cal got here and not a one dat out to protect their draft status this is one of the dumbest assumptions being made! And we all know what happens when you assume to know things!

All I can say is that if it's my last possible game I am playing unless I can't run on it. I hope that if we win PJ has the rest and will play. I'm tired of injuries derailing our season. He came back to up his stock and to try again in the tourney and it would be a shame to sit out now.

Or, you know, Cal wants the other team to waste time planning for Washington. It doesn't do us any favors for him to show all of his cards. It's not like the fans' collective thoughts and prayers are going to magically heal PJ any faster.

I don't read it like that at all.
He seems to think he is 100% correct. Whether he has insider info or not, he is firm in his position.
The only times he has come off as a jerk is when people have been hostile toward him for being so confident. I can understand being defensive if you feel your integrity is being challenged. Again, I have no idea if he is correct or not. But, I know it looks like there is pack mentality against anyone who takes a position and stands by it.
Personally, I'm leaning toward PJ never playing for us again. With the draft coming up I can understand the optics of not wanting to appear to be injured. Why take a chance that it could cause his draft status to drop even one spot?
Finally, Cal has told us multiple times that he is "players first" so, I suspect he will just leave it up to PJ and his Dad.

Really? You actually believe that after J.V.? Cal has getting the kids drafted as his first priority. Don't know how anyone can deny that. I'm not saying it is wrong but, it's the way Calipari sees it. I can see both sides.

My God, what comedy!!! Such drama and NOBODY has a clue.

This just gets funnier every year. This is REALLY REALLY simple. PJ will play if he is cleared to play. There is no conspiracy, little green men, angry daddys, NBA underground railroad or any of this other blithering nonsense.

Athlete. Athlete hurt. Athlete don't play. Athlete better. Athlete plays. So easy a cave man could understand it.

Not some of you apparently. Just grow up. We compete with what goes on the floor. Injury is part of the game. It takes a lot of things to win this tournament. Luck is one of them. You better be damn well hoping our luck changes.

Let me preface this by saying PJ is my favorite player on this team.

Having said that, if we lose tomorrow or advance to the sweet 16 or elite 8 and lose then and PJ doesn't play, people are gonna go apeshit about him and trash him like crazy. I can already see it being setup. He will not be remembered fondly, which sucks.

I feel bad cause I know I could possibly feel like that, although I would never say it. And I hate that. He said he came back to school to win a championship, which we all know wasn't the real main reason.

I hate how we've been lied to repeatedly about his injury. The story changed every 2 hours and I'm scared to death it'll be more of the same if we win today we will hear all kinds of things for the next week. If he doesn't play a certain segment will roast him.

Whether he's shutting it down for the NBA or really that injured I'll c understand. I just wish we knew for sure or not. That's my only gripe. And yes I know they don't owe us anything and UK usually gives vague answers to injury questions.

He is done & everyone knows it just some won't admit it. Hypothetical they cut the cast Wed. & he says Im ready to go, 2 weeks of no activity he would be a detriment to the team other than a body taking fouls.
Hate it & tired of it all. Use to really look forward to this time of year but now same old song, injuries or not, coach leaving or not, players leaving or not, more secrecy here than the Secret Service.
Here is hoping Nick & EJ make us forget PJ's foot problem

The only people bashing PJ Washington and his injury are the biggest freaking losers on this forum. the negative nancys who wait for anything to go wrong and the trolls who pretend to be Kentucky fans. They are also the Fanatics who put Kentucky basketball head of anything in life. The ones who would sacrifice their own child for number 9 and probably care more about basketball than their family. Those are the people upset about this and the ones Washington Senior is talking about

I don’t read a lot of bashing. There are a few who fit the profile you describe, but many more who are simply frustrated by what appears to be a business decision. Not to mention the lack of clarity around what’s really going on. Not to mention Cal’s contradictory comments.

Folks on twitter seem far more juvenile and inappropriate than folks on this board.

You're always whining about something. It isn’t none of our business if PJ is sitting out because of a business decision (which he isn’t). Why would you want him to play anyway if he isn’t 100%?

Exactly, if he’s not 100% means he can’t give 100% effort and could hurt the team!

I can see a sprain like this keeping him out for a while. I remember back in 1983 when Derrick Hord sprained his ankle and he tried to play against UL but was still limping around after about a month. I think if we win today and he gets cleared next week then he'll play. Let's just hope he gets over it by next week.
