It’s a tendon. Not a break. Hurt on the last second tip-in attempt vs. UT. Most likely out next two games. Possibly longer.

Please do not crucify me if this turns out to be untrue. I am simply passing along a text I got from someone who knows a team manager. I am praying that it’s untrue.
If that is true...What a terrible break considering we were down 4 on the heave and it was meaningless effort....if you're talking about the final play of the game.

Game 2 would be tough without him. And then he'd probably be a little rusty with his shot and hook for game .

Lets hope he plays Saturday.

There are plenty of people who have said it's likely nothing and only UK being conservative. Matter of fact, outside of a couple of trolls no one is saying it's anything to worry about.

Maybe his misses tomorrow, but I don't see him not playing other than that. Just my opinion, but it's more informed than the Chicken Little's on here.

Do you care if I direct message you? It seems as if a lot of people are receiving messages akin to the one you posted in the above-quoted post.

I'm still hearing the same info I received yesterday morning. I asked my source for an update today, and I was told the same thing - that Washington is without question done for the year. I'm still kind of in denial mode and hoping somehow he's wrong.

I asked the guy giving me this information where he was getting his info from, and I found out that it's coming from one of the assistant coaches and a team doctor. The only thing that gives me hope that somehow there was some type of miscommunication is the fact that the assistant coach wouldn't expressly say that PJ is done, but it was inferred.

I'm only passing on information I was told, so please spare me the "you're a troll" banter. I'm not an insider and rarely ever hear anything you couldn't find on a public message board.

I'm just hoping Cal comes out with a definitive answer to this question when he releases a statement on the situation in an hour. I don't want another situation like JV or RT where we're given vague answers as to the status of their health.

Well that is not what I wanted to hear.

I believe that you're getting info from a source.

I just hope the source is wrong, obviously.

I do as well. He's given me information 5-6 times in the past. A few times I thought what he was telling me didn't seem like it would actually come to fruition, but they did. He was wrong once though, so here's hoping for #2.

If he is done for the season you can count on it that the announcement will be anything other than direct about it. The University / athletic Dept. is not going to fail to support the NCAA tournament by making statements that may result in significantly (and I mean SIGNIFICANTLY) less bodies in Jacksonville this weekend and possibly MUCH fewer in the next city the following weekend. We get enough retribution for unknown reasons as it is. That is all.

RICK BOZICH: I am told he is expected to be available this weekend for NCAA play.

It is embarrassing that a guy like Bozich, there on the scene with decades of experience as a basketball writer and no doubt sources inside the Kentucky program can't get as much information as a half dozen random people on this thread who have already found out from friends of the trainers and team doctor that PJ is out for the weekend at least and probably the full tournament - and will be lucky if he ever walks again.

I would argue that it is more about our defense and keeping from turning it over. We didn’t really lose to Tennessee because we lacked consistent scoring. We lost to them because we turned the ball over and allowed them to score 18 points in 3 minutes. Take down a turnover, get a defensive rebound, or contest a three, and UK probably wins that game. Our offense can be streaky, but I really think it will be the defense that carries us, and our defense is typically very very good. Can’t lose focus and we need Hagans to play like he did for most of the TN game and not turn the ball over.

Somebody else actually understands this ball club!! Defense and turnovers. That is the key aspect of this game. Absolutely nothing more important.

I will note the wheels came off against TN when Travis went out against TN.

This will be weird announcement bc if he is on “injured” list he can’t play the whole weekend. Stupid rule but that’s how it works. Can’t play whole weekend if on injured list. Just found this out

If a “friend” is passing along all this “inside” info then there’s some dudes on here that need new friends.
