So, as it stands, on March 29, I will be in North Carolina, staying at my wife’s best friends Mountain House. Her friend and her friends husband are huge boosters of UNC (her husband is an alum). It’s in the Mountains, no where else really to go.

March 29 is regional final game day. If both UNC and UK make it to this game (which seems likely), I will be in hell. The husband is the type of fan that can’t handle UNC losing, or even being down in a game without losing his ****. He surely won’t do well with a UK fan in the room if we (UK) are winning. Last time I watched a UNC game with him - UNC v Santa Clara in 2004 - UNC lost. He kicked me out of his house for smiling at the buzzer. He didn’t talk to me for a month, then called and apologized.

I can handle it. But he is also the type that talks ****. It’s like he is possessed during the game and goes into a three day funk if they lose.

What do I do?

Besides being a Carolina fan, I kind of like this guy.

I suggest you gnaw on his neck before the game with those gorgeous teeth of yours.

We had friends from church over when Kentucky played West Virginia in the elite 8 in 2010. One of them turned out to be a West Virginia fan. Needless to say that did not go well. I wanted to punch him in the face. My wife got mad at me because I was so mad at him. She said he is an invited guest in our house and I should be a gracious loser.
I decided that would never happen again. No one is invited to my house to watch a game unless I know they are a huge Cat fan. If something terrible happens like Kentucky losing in the NCAA tournament, I don’t want some ahole laughing about it.

The grim reaper showed up at our door unannounced at halftime of the 1984 Kentucky/Georgetown game. True story.

It was a once in forever kinda thing for them though, he probably just could not help himself.

The night before, make sure his bedroom windows are open (to enjoy the fresh mountain air) ... then, after he's asleep, throw bacon into his room. Bears should be getting pretty active that time of the spring.

Although I live and die by every UK game...you'd think recent success would chill them out a bit.

1. Surviving the NCAA's hammer and getting off free...
2. A National title in 2017 and a runner-up in 2016....

Are there any Buffalo Wild Wings type places in the area? If it’s a tourist area with facebook groups-we have found the BBN in full force in vacation destinations, you may be able to join them to watch it somewhere. I feel for you! I don’t think I would watch the game with him that day.

I can watch games at bars and there be rival fans and have some jabs thrown here or there. But as far as a more intimate home setting, you are either an all in Cats fan, or ambivalent about sports (usually the gf) who gets dragged along and knows to just shut up and have some food and beer with us for a few hours. No way Im putting up with rival fans and having to hold back for the sake of class and manners during a Cats game.
