a play in the first have is just as important as a play in the final seconds. if they can review plays at the end, then they need to review plays all game long as a bad call in the first half could be the difference in a win or loss just as much as the final play of the game.

Not even close. A bad play early on gives you X number of minutes to fix the mistake you made. This missed call literally cost us the game. And beyond the blatant goaltending, the LSU player stepped out of bounds. The goaltending shouldnt have even been part of the equation.

There are plenty of reviewable plays when there is limited time on the clock. If a charge is reviewable, a goaltend should be as well.

so you’re saying that if this exact same play happened with 7 minutes to go and UK ends up losing by 1 point, you all wouldn’t be complaining about that missed goaltend that if called would have had UK win by 1? get out of here with that, you know damn well there would be threads about it.

Well, for starters you want to totally ignore it happened. Anytime it's brought up you call it deflecting and improperly refer to it as a "strawman argument"

You only want to harp on the offensive put back as goal tending because it help promote UK as a victim. When in reality, we should have been called for a goal tending call on the initial shot. You don't just get to overlook 1 in favor of the 2nd. That is not how it works in reality. No one is saying the first caused the 2nd or without the first we never have the 2nd, but you can't claim one was bad call that altered the outcome, when clearly had it been called the other way, the first call being missed would have then altered the outcome.

I hate losing as much as the next person, but you can't distort reality to rationalize it. Then we look no better than UL.

Leach said it was not goaltending on E.J. cause he did that before the ball was on the rim. There is no penalty for that if it doesn’t effect the play

No I wouldn't be THAT upset. Id be pissed. Just like I am about Waters pushing Quickley off or Herro not getting foul shots when he was raped going for a transition lay up.

EVERY single team can look back and go "man if wed made that 1 extra 3, or if we didnt miss that easy putback, or if we even hit our average from the FT line, or if the ref called a block instead of a charge, etc etc we would've won." But THAT play specifically ended the game. You dont let that happen and its OT.

Quit crying, dude. It’s a meaningless regular season game that you weren’t even on the floor to play. Quit basing your identity and your emotions on a game played by kids.

Clearly you know nothing of college basketball and tournament seedings, game locations, etc. That loss on Tues. night to a very good #19 LSU team pretty much ended UK's hopes for a regular season SEC title. Plus, the NCAA-T selection committee puts more emphasis on the regular season conference championship than the post-season tourney. So, yeah....it was far from meaningless.

I don't base my identity and emotions on how kids play but, I surely get a little pissed when adults screw those kids by choking on a call. Definitely guilt of that.

It’s a meaningless regular season game. We will be in the same tournament, needing to win the same amount of games regardless of the outcome of that game. College basketball has the most meaningless regular season. It’s simply about the NCAA tournament, which is why we are seeing more and more teams that are Cinderella’s getting to the Elite 8/Final Four.

And yes, even though the ball was clearly going off the rim to the right, per the college rule, it’s still in the cylinder and it’s easier to see when you have the overhead angle. We also stuck our hand in the net and through the rim which may or may not have affected the rim. It doesn’t matter. Ignoring the entire game of bad calls and “what if’s” and focusing just on this is cherry picking.

Either way, it won’t matter. We will still beat Tennessee at least once and probably beat LSU in the SEC Tourney. It won’t make a damn bit of difference for us in March so who cares. No one will remember this game just like no one ever remembers a random conference game in early February.
