So what's everyone wearing to Dr. Boat's wedding?

Think something like this will be acceptable?

Optional is still optional, right?

Dammit, Pope. I just shelled out $238 for a new cheetah print suit. Do you know how hard it was to find matching socks? You have no idea how many cheetah/leopard/jaguar pattern variations there are.

Eff you, man. Eff you.

You guys are better friends than I am. You tell me a week out that an afternoon wedding is formal when it wasn't on the invitation I'm showing up in a black suit.

- You'd never get by security.

- Right on cue, my wife text bombs me while I'm giving a semester final on our last day of school. She has a sinus infection. The oldest does as well. Both kids have teamed up to make her day miserable (fussing/fighting). She needs to get to the grocery, beauty shop, dry cleaners, florist, UPS store, PLUS she has to do shopping to finish out the Christmas lists!!!!! Heroic.

- All of this talk about bourbon whiskey and no mention of Ripple? Shake Fred Sanford's head.

- Basketball Cats will look better, but lose going away in the 2nd half I'm afraid. UNC-78 UK-67.

- Roger Hardin seems to have caped up for the BBN recently. I dig it. And his daughters seem attractive as well.

I mean, every single google entry I've read on this subject says a black suit w/ the proper accessories is perfectly fine for black tie optional -- but, the buffoon & self proclaimed GYERO fashion leader in the oversized white dinner jacket disagrees so idk what to do.

-Buffalo Trace (BT, Blantons, 107) store picks abound today in the River City.

From the website, under FAQ:

Is there a dress code?

Answer:

Black tie optional.

There is no requirement to wear a ball gown or tux, but it’s still a wedding! We trust our guests to show up looking festive and fabulous!

So people were aware that it’s black tie optional but it also passive aggressively says you should be wearing a tux.

Like I said, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I have searched the paper invitation high and low and didn't see "black tie optional". Maybe it was on the RSVP card that I mailed off?

Willy, sorry, didn't realize you all made the cut or I would have put Laura on the ladies group text. We are all fairing well on what to wear and most are utilizing Rent the Runway and excited to dress up for the night.

I wanted to get a royal blue gown, but that seemed a little bit loud for the evening.

Ive talked to Crystal, and I'm fairly sure we're going to be the white trash of the evening. I'll go ahead and apologize to you and Julia in advance Dr. Boat.

At least we got you a nice gift.
