imp:
Bourbon 'n Tolouse kills all the other cajun joints (JGumbo's, Gumbo Ya Ya). There's no need to go elsewhere, really.
Found out today that the guys who started Bourbon ‘n Tolouse worked at the commissary that was bought by the owner of Jgumbo.
When Jgumbo grew too big for his small little kitchen to handle supplying other restaurants he relied on that same commissary to help produce his product.
So the owners at Bourbon ‘n Tolouse got ahold of some of his recipes by default and use a version of a few of them like the drunken chicken.
There is apparently a lawsuit going on too about the rights of that recipe.
All that said the Jgumbo dude spoke very highly of those guys and suggested I try their stuff because they did have a few really good menu items. So any suggestions?
This might sound weird, but they have a caramelized black beans and corn dish that is awesome.Found out today that the guys who started Bourbon ‘n Tolouse worked at the commissary that was bought by the owner of Jgumbo.
