Dang, kind of had a feeling he'd be one of the odd men out this season. If he does fall behind PT wise, I hope he sticks it out!

I get it, but I'm not sure this is the team you wanna be taking your sweet time with after sitting out over a year. Green, Quickley, Herro, Hagans, are hungry for minutes.
Really? Taking his own sweet time? Has some swelling after knee surgery? Who pissed in your cheerios this morning? Geez. I'm sure it was a doctor and or trainer that recommended he take it slowly. And you know more than they do?

I hope Baker comes back when the knee feels right and is cleared medically, and shows us what he can do.

I dont think you guys get it... if his knee is still swelling... either he's gotta stay on top of it icing it every day or his career is done.... Or Cal is using this as a way to protect Baker and himself in case his defense is that far behind keeping Cal from playing him and then having 10 billion questions of why didnt he play.

Swelling this far out from surgery does not sound good.

He's not wrong though. Being injured and "messing around" are in no way equatable.
Cool. Hopefully sometime this year the guy is able to suit up & has realistic expectations of his place amongst the guards. So far he reminds of Tyler Eifert.

I don't think you're alone in that. But he's clearly the 10th man this year and will play here multiple years. I'd rather he be healthy when he may be actually needed down the road a few years from now instead of risking permanent damage for what will most likely be a year he sits the bench.

Just give him a shot of Bute and his knees will be fine. That’s what they did to Stage Door Johnny and he won the Derby just to lose out when they gave him a damn drug test. Winner, Forward Pass Calumet Farm.

Now do we have any old horse guys like me that remember that Derby?

Did he get redshirted last year? I know Cal doesn't usually do that but it would make sense in his case.

I'm hoping Duke has injury problems this year, like we've had in the past, so as to make the college basketball universe equatable again.

Maybe Zion can slip on a jelly-filled crispy cream Capel accidentally left behind in the locker room?

The best ability is AVAILABILITY! We have a bunch of guards fighting for PT, he's gonna mess around and be chilling next to Brad all game.
Stupid post of the day. The kids hurt. It's not like he wanted this to happen on purpose. Would you make the same comment if it were your kid, Not.

Duke's had their share of injuries. Harry Giles, Kyrie Irving, etc.

Why would we want to take a chance with him. The guys who sat out the Bahamas trip in 15 didnt suffer any when the season started besides he was here last year to at least pay attention and see what it was like. So the newer guys will have more of an adjustment then he will. Get his knee healthy now and no issues for when the games matter

Giles was injured before he ever set foot on campus. I'll give you Irving, obviously.

Doesn't compare to WCS, Poythress, Randle, Noel, etc. And three of those were crucial to a possible/likely title.

Good grief. How long has it been since UK hasn't had a player with injury issues?
No team has 13 fully healthy players ever . I mean I guess it happens once in a while but it ain't likely. This just some post surgery swelling it happens. Just let it go down and play him when he is back to normal .

Who hurt you lil guy? There is a difference between being HURT and being INJURED. If a guy needs to sit 5 straight practices over swelling then fine, but you'll get no sympathy from me when you're getting zero mpg due to the 4 other guys ahead of you (whom on all accounts are better players, & all higher ranked) battling daily in practice.

"Can't make the club in the tub". Phillip Rivers played 2 NFL playoff games on a torn ACL. But hey our guy has a swollen knee from a surgery he had a year ago. it's fine. Maybe he's related to Derrick Rose & needs 3 seasons off to get right. Hopefully he has realistic expectations when he does finally suit up and does not pout or wanna transfer when he's getting in the game with Brad & Dillon around the :30 remaining mark.
