Reading the reports from Walker and Tucker it seems like it is almost a done deal that if Washington or others hit the road we will get this kid. Is it really that much of a done deal that we would get this kid if all the others left for the draft?

Tucker’s been on that for a long time so assume he’s got a source. If Washington were to bolt he’s a great replacement imo. Loved him as a AAU player.

All I know is that others say things differently about him but those two seem to think otherwise, I hope they are right but I wonder if they really know anything.

I can confidently say that UK will be just fine regardless of who comes and goes considering our staff seems to have a contingency plan regardless of the circumstances. While I am not saying UK will win it all next season, I am saying that UK will, once again, be a substantial threat in March.

Yeah, I know people are always hating on Matt Jones, but he acted like he knew something about it as well. I am just really surprised Duke isn't after some people as well, sounds like this kid would be a prime target for them.

If I'm Reid Travis do I want to stay at Stanford and have another season in relative obscurity and finish, at best, in the middle of the Pac 12, and maybe get an NIT bid or would I want to play a season at Kentucky with one of the best coachs in the game today, on national TV every week and compete for a Final Four? Tough decision.

- the word you were looking for is "hear"

- I haven't been chubby since I was an infant

- these guys are more concerned with getting fools like you to listen to them in the offseason, than they are concerned with developing actual sources on West coast
Chubby Checker was the reference. Oops on the here. It happens. It was simply a play on your name. You’re very sensitive, and think you’re “in the know” with zero evidence. Sad/pathetic.

If I could like this 1,000 times I would. I like the way you think, sir.

Why I see him coming here if a spot opens?

1. He wants to go to the NBA...but it seems Stanford has not prepared him. What school is better for NBA development?

2. Chance at a national title. I mean...who wouldn't want that?

Those two things play into each other. He will get way more exposure playing here...a chance to win and boost his stock playing against the best talent in the nation every day in practice.

You seem like a good poster, so I am bummed about that news.

That's not the first time you've made a definitive post without having anything to back it up. Care to share how you're so sure? I think I'll wait to see how this plays out.

Nothing wrong with waiting and seeing. But I've been told repeatedly by two Stanford alums I trust that he has had already told the coaching staff he isn't interested in transferring. Apparently he recognizes how many doors that Stanford education will open for him once pro ball is done (and he's not likely to have much of an NBA career.)

He's already received that education, hence the term, "grad transfer."

To be a "grad" transfer, he will have to graduate. So he will have his Stanford education (degree) and will have 1 year to improve his NBA aspirations. Duke and little Rick are in the hunt as well. My friend at the Gate says he wants to go to a big time program to get more attention and better coaching. That leaves the Gophers out. He also said Duke recruited him in 2012 or 13 and backed off. Which could bode well for UK as Travis felt slighted by Coach K.

It’s quite possible that he did tell them this. If, however he is interested in transferring to Kentucky but it’s contingent on 1 or 2 players leaving, it’s highly likely he would say that, whatever his intentions. What good would come from telling the coaches “yeah I’m gonna transfer if they have room for me,” when there’s a chance he might want to come back? That would do nothing but create bad feelings with his coaches and teammates.

Not saying I know anything, but there’s always more going on than we know.

Is Vernon Carey going to reclass? If he does and picks Duke, that explains why they don't seem to be a threat for Travis.

I mean there is a legitimate chance that in 10 days we have EJ and Nick And thats it up front. Cal literally has to get 2 other guys from somewhere in that scenario.

This is exactly what Duke does. They hold their cards close to their vest until the deal is done. You can guarantee that they have something in mind if they are passing on Reid.

I do think there is obviously some truth to it as too many insiders who get paid to report UK info have backed it as being true but my question is what happens when Gabriel and JV return but PJ leaves as that would still give us a whale of a front court so would reid come to UK with that? Doesn't seem to make sense. He would probably the best player in the front court but also maybe the 3rd most talented as EJ is a predicted lotto pick in 19 and JV could be a top 20 pick if he stays healthy. AS long as we add 2 front court players to Richards , EJ and KJ ( though he is a true SF ) we are golden . So any 2 of JV , WG , PJ or Reid and I am good.
