This pretty much describes Vandy players in general and well, Vandy fans too.

Question:

Do you have more Salt Life T Shirts or Salt Life stickers on your truck?

I'm going with T Shirts, but I bet it's close.

I don't think UK has to. I've seen us miss on enough guys who pretty clearly had their hand out (Lance Stephenson, Chris Walker, Cliff Alexander, DeAndre Ayton, etc.) to think we're not handing out briefcases of cash.

Do I think we've had guys who had been paid by someone along the way? Absolutely. But I think that's an important difference.

I don't even approach it from a perspective of judgment. If Vanderbilt isn't paying players, they're stupid. Because you're not going to get them otherwise, and you're not going to win without them. If you're going to take basketball seriously and hire a big name coach, you better get him someone to work with.

Well reasoned response with which I mostly agree.

I do think there is a scenario where Drew can have a solid program and recruit at a higher level than we are used to at Vanderbilt just because he's better at it than others have been in the past. To your point, if you want to go after a bunch of one and done type players, somebody is paying them so why would they go for free to VU?

It's an interesting conundrum in the dirty world of college basketball.

Candy is cheating and you know it [laughing]

I bet you won't admit it but you know it.

I don't have anything to admit or I would. I'm a fan, I work, I raise kids and I try to keep my wife happy in the meantime. When James Franklin was here, I definitely thought he was cheating and I loved it. I'm not someone who points the fingers at others who won't look inwardly.

Do I think we are cheating? No, but nothing would surprise me. If you are swimming in the deep end with a bunch of cheating schools and you're not cheating, who's the idiot?

I don't really care if we are cheating or not, but if we are cheating, I hope they are smart enough not to get caught.

Gun to my head if asked if I think Drew is cheating, I'd say no. He's a super Christian who exudes positive energy (which is why he's a really good recruiter), so if he's cheating, it's definitely out of character.

I think we benefited greatly from the wire tapping scandal this year, hopefully Drew can keep bringing in players we can win with.

The classic mark of a guy who knows his team is cheating.

All I care about is mi familia at the end of the day

Well of course you do, we all do.

I think Vandy is cheating, you don't think so but wouldn't be surprised and we both love our family. Good talk. [laughing]

That was a very good talk. I think I've seen you post close to double digits times that you think Vandy is cheating fyi.

You may be right.

We may or may not ever find out if you were right.

Is Scott Drew a "Super Christian" also? If so, we may be learning some things about religion here.

Don't have a truck and don't know what those t-shirts or stickers are. (lame attempt on your part by the way) What I do know is that every Vandy fan I've ever encountered fits that description from your previous post about your seniors. I'm sure you're no different.

Yeah, I thought about leaving that out because I know how bad liberals hate Christians and would make a big deal out of that comment, but you can't tell Bryce Drew's story without mentioning his religious beliefs. It's who he is.

As for Scott Drew, I know almost nothing about him.

We've seen plenty of your posts here. You "have no almost nothing" about college basketball in general, so it's all good.

You sound like a real winner in life by assuming all fans / graduates of a school are the exact same way.

The older you get (if you pay attention), the more you realize human nature is the same almost everywhere. Bama fans, Oregon fans, Michigan fans and UK fans have smart fans, dumb ones, religious people, non religious people, nice people, jerks, super tough guys (like you), pussies, etc...

keep doing you're thing though.

The salt life comment was a dig at Kentucky People? Try visiting Alabama. That's the neck you're looking for.

Nashville ain't lookin so good man. 3rd world streets of foreigners who can' t speak the language and crazy homeless pop. How easy is it to get help for crack addiction there? And I want something done about the trash that breaks into my car everytime I visit my sister in Nville, no she's not my wife.

Well you'll learn. His brother is at Baylor and says the same things. One of the biggest cheaters in the game.

Tis easier for a needle to pass through the eye.

Tis written for reason.

Frieda has always been a fair rival poster here. The weird personal attack stuff is off base.

And for the love of God we don't need to punch down at Vandy.

In a thread where a kid is choosing between Vandy, IU and Kansas, especially with an IU fan posting in it, I have a hard time getting nasty with the 'Dore.

Probably but New Albany ain't exactly pure Indiana. The college store in the mall in Jeff is all UK/UL, no IU. There wouldn't be a ton of pressure at home.
