They actually still have some decent players on the roster... as of now. VJ King, Malik Williams, Darius Perry were all very highly ranked. McMahon, Nworra, and Sutton all played well for them this year. They aren't winning the ACC with that group. But they might win enough to get into the NCAA tournament. They gonna SUUUUUUUUUUCK so bad next year.....and the year after that.......etc.
Props to Chris Mack if we beat them by less than 29 this year.
They couldn’t make the tourney this year. They have now lost their top 3 scorers and replaced them with absolutely nothing so far. Right now they appear to be on the fence for even a chance at an NIT bid. And btw this is exactly what a school with the enormous amount of corruption that has occurred there deserves to happen to them. They actually still have some decent players on the roster... as of now. Now they need to get their recruiting in gear or the following year could be abysmal. But Mack will probably land his share of players to keep them afloat.

Their fans are reduced to getting giddy over a few grad transfers. LOL. They seriously think Powder is gonna work miracles, and make them a dangerous tourney team next season. Rick Pitino is not walking through that door. Are they even gonna have enough for a team next year? I see no commits for 2018; losing Mahmoud, Deng, I think Spalding, Snider. Am I missing any?
Perhaps you're right, I guess we will see. It would not bother me one bit for UofL to be terrible. I know it's not a popular opinion to say UofL might be good, it's just that I see enough talent to get things done. UofL missed the NCAA this year because they were relying on a head coach who had no idea what he was doing. They couldn’t make the tourney this year. I’m sure Mack will be an upgrade at coach but he’s not a miracle worker. Unless VJ King suddenly becomes a stud instead of the flop he’s been his first two years they will struggle big time next year. And I would imagine it’ll be a challenge for Mack to recruit at a high level for some time with even more NCAA trouble looming ahead for them. We could see some pretty horrible seasons for them in the next few years and I love it lol.Perhaps you're right, I guess we will see. It would not bother me one bit for UofL to be terrible. I like the way you think.Props to Chris Mack if we beat them by less than 29 this year.
It’s Seth Davis. He’s clueless. The Athletic - the pay site started by Seth Davis and others who were fired from SI and ESPN - has it's preseason top 25 out. Originally they had Louisville at 12. Looks like they've moved down after the Spalding and Adel news, but still - a lot higher than what some of you guys are calling for:
"25. Louisville
Confirmed Departures: Anas Mahmoud, Quentin Snider, Ray Spalding
Projected Departures: Deng Adel
Projected Returnees: Darius Perry, V.J. King, Ryan McMahon, Jordan Nwora, Malik Williams, Dwayne Sutton, Lance Thomas
Incoming Transfers: Steven Enoch (Connecticut)
Projected Open Scholarships: 5
Here, we've moved Spalding into the confirmed departure list, and Adel to the projected departure one. Still, Chris Mack is one of the country's absolute best coaches, and he'll be inheriting a roster with an awful lot of talent, even if they didn't get results this past year. King and Perry are talented perimeter players, and Williams is a high-upside offensive center. Enoch should do well to replace the defensive impact of Mahmoud. Nwora is a knock-down shooter, and King is probably the most well-rounded player of the bunch. If these guys all hit, they're only a small ways off the mark of the talent level Mack had at Xavier last year. The key will be figuring out what they can do at the point guard position. But with FIVE open scholarships following the departure of Spalding and the expected departure of Adel, we're guessing here that Mack finds multiple answers on the transfer market to solve his problems and set up the Cardinals for a nice run in his first year. If he doesn't do that, the Cards likely fall off of the list."

They didn't win enough to get into the Tourny this year. They lose arguably their 4 best players and add no one at this point.
