Probably first time K has mostly Freshman. He has trouble getting them to play defense and as a team and not individuals. Duke will flame out in tourney next year and we beat them first game handily.

I think Matt is off on Vanderbilt. I think he is more likely to leave.

Thats not at all what talking heads are saying . Hagans is just waiting for an offer . He gets it from UK he is ours. We lose SGA or Diallo he gets it . Montgomery is likely a Cat if UK loses Gabriel or JV . If we don't lose any bigs we really have no room for more of them . EJ would go to Duke most likely in that instance. Wiseman is still a possibility but that is so far off ( July or August) it isn't worth discussing. Cal has to plan like we don't have him. Jefferies isn't reclassifying . Leque is another possible reclassifying name. It would be a huge surprise for our roster not to have at least one of Hagans , EJ or Wiseman on it next year and 2 out of 3 is more likely.

You put too much faith into what you read on the internet, Cal is tired of the constant roster turnover every season. The one and done is over with as soon as K calls it quits at Duke, Adam Silver is a dooodie. Why do you think he is starting to recruit players that is staying, he knows it is coming. He will have a few players leave early until they end it, but most players will end up staying for the most part. Capel leaving Duke is interesting, not sure what happened there. Montgomery to Georgia could happen, but i do not think him or Hagens will end up here..

I'm guessing Richards, Knox, Sha, Green, SKJ, Brad stay. I'm guessing Diallo and the rest go. Now book it in Las Vegas. Nobody knows the way I feel nobody knows but me.

His order of likelyhood to leave:

Shai - almost certain.
Knox - very likely but he's very young and his dad was a pro athlete, coming back IS possible.
Hami - likely gone, but could come back
Wenyen - maybe gone, seemed to waffle between putting him in the "my guess is go" and "my guess is stay." He's already 21, so old for a sophomore. Probably ends up overseas if he goes pro.
Vanderbilt - likely back, and it's because of the injury.
Washington - will go to combine, but likely back. Never saw himself as a one-and-done.
Richards - will go to combine, almost certainly back.
SKJ - back unless he decides to transfer (not predicting he will)
Green - back unless he decides to transfer (again, not predicting he will)
Baker - back

Predicting the top 3, maybe 4 go and we'll be great next year if that's all. Starts to hurt if more leave.
Wenyen already being 21 isn't gonna help him get drafted. Dude turned 21 yesterday and would go undrafted.

Matt is in constant communication with the coaching staff, and people like Pratt, Oscar, Rex, Dave Baker, and leach

But yet you think you know as much as Matt Jones

Really? You can't be serious

How do you have more info than Matt? I would like to know, since you think you know better than him on this scenario

I suspect I may know more than Matt in this situation, but that doesn't mean I know for sure. I do not.
Vanderbilt certainly hasn't made a decision- so I nor anyone else should be making any declarative statements. I am just telling you what I believe to be true regarding leanings and likelihood.
I have made similar comments here in the past regarding players and recruits- and am most often correct.
I recall drawing a lot of laughs when I said quite early that Shaka was in good shape with Bamba and that Texas was a very legitimate destination for him.
And I know a few people where skeptical when I poltilety contradicted "coach" when he said Bam was likely to return. It was a fluid situation but by the time he posted -- I knew otherwise.
Anyway, you can either presume me a fraud-- or someone who may have a bit of insight based upon what I do each day. It doesn't matter to me, and I understand your reaction and skepticism. There are plenty of message board insiders!

Not to be outdone, Mitch McConnell will have his own take on who stays and who goes in a major press conference from Washington

This team having a mass exodus would be the biggest joke and I fully expect it to happen.

If that does happen, there is no debate that the culture has to change here and Cal should adapt.

I think today we confirmed who is returning.

In 2020, Kentucky voters will decide that Mitch McConnell is returning to Washington in favor of Matt.

MJ wouldn't make a good pimple on McConnell's butt....

I don't think we get the benefit of the doubt anymore. I have no idea where we'd be ranked in that case but I don't see top 5

I see what you’re saying and agree. On the same note , after this years Duke team I’m not nearly as “intimidated”
After the last 3 “best teams/ classes of all time with the best coach of all time!” Not closing the deal ... idk I’m just not.

Even with Bagley, Duval and Senior all star! Gracie they still only made it ONE game further than UK in the tournament.

sec tourney champs with 10 losses - 5 seed
UNC - loses to UVa with 10 losses - 2 seed

we were top 5 to start the season, didn't finish in the top 20.
lack of respect, lack of faith, whatever it is - IMO, UK has to prove they belong in the top 5 before they ever get there again starting 4 freshmen.

you need to let go of MJ's nut sack....He is mostly a bag of hot air.....I don't enjoy his sophomoric humor. That and to be honest the man seems to be pretty dumb. I know he is a lawyer, but he just isn't very smart.

rubs elbows with UK coaches and players, makes a mint off talking about Kentucky all day (what we do for free at the risk of *losing* our jobs) and has parlayed that into a possible senate seat.

yea, he sounds dumb to me.

I think the “lack of respect” or... the “to much respect” rather for Duke and UNC has to do with media bias though no?

I mean UNC and UVA both got absolutely destroyed by mediocre teams. UVA especially, being the first team in HISTORY to not only lose to the worst overall 16 seed... but get absolutely colon pounded in the process.

Duke with all their “respect” and glory this year still only made it ONE single game further than the cats.

UNC? Lol #wofford

Edit- Not saying our season wasn’t a “disappointment “ I mean it was... just noting the difference in “respect” from the media

If Ms. Jones is hearing that green is contemplating a transfer he is. Matt sold his *** to Cal and begged his secretary for some access. Cal uses the local media to get messages out. This is how he works. Matt has scoop on the team, he just doesn't have good recruiting info because it's one sided.

Wish people would learn the difference and end it.

I’d hate to see Green leave. I think it would send bad signals to future recruits that we keep seeing kids leave to go to another team after they have a “tough” year. I’d hope Cal is a better salesman than that.

I think the arguement is more about his playing years. Each year that goes by is one less that he is earning money. I have no idea of that is his thinking, but I believe that is the suggestion of the poster.

Wenyen is already fairly old for his class iirc. But he's gonna have a tough time getting any NBA traction when even Cal mentions that it's a tuenovtur anytime he tries to dribble

I don't understand Gabriel making the push, even if his family was in dire straights.

The kid is on the verge of making a breakthrough in his game as a spot up 3 point shooter AND a interior defender. The last play of the game with the season in the balance and the play wasn't drawn up for Knox, it was drawn up for Gabriel.

He needs to come back.
