The dude looks like he belongs at Georgetown College.
UK will shut him down.
This. Let him guard Shai on the perimeter for multiple possessions. We will see how healthy that foot is real quick.Simple. Put him in ball screen and make him guard the perimeter. Aggravate the foot a bit and he's more of a liability than a help.
LMAOLooks like a solid defender.

A foot stress fracture has a healing time of 6-8 weeks. Thursday will be 2 weeks. There is a 0% chance a stress fracture has healed in that time. If he plays he will almost certainly make it worse. Btw, the 98% comment came from him, not the coach, team dr. or the school. I think it's wishful thinking on his part.

Pretty sure he just said that to be saying it.Said he's 98% sure.
Set good solid screens, and force them to switch. If you set great screens and they don't switch, we will get straight line drives to the hoop. Even if he has to hedge hard, that will still put significant pressure on that stress fracture. This is all assuming he will play. They wouldn’t switch. Even if you have a fully healthy foot Shai is unguardable one on one. He may be the most skilled pg UK has had one on one under Cal (I say skilled meaning he doesn’t need to out run or over power you to beat you to the basket)
From reading his statements in the Manhattan paper, he isn't even out of the pain phase yet. It's like he thinks if the pain is gone he can play. I feel bad for his predicament but there is no way he should be allowed to play. Further injury to a foot could jeopardize any shot he has at a pro career.This. Even if he plays, he'll be playing injured with a still-fractured foot. Which means he won't be able to run or cut well, will be in pain, and likely won't be anything near the same player he was before the injury.
Except that Clark shoots 40% from 3 and brown shoots 33%. No difference there. Also, I am much more worried about Brown Jr. than Wade. We had massive trouble with Clark on Saturday and Brown is a similar player.
lol. Could've swore I said similar. They have a similar skill set. If we lock down Brown (assuming Wade won't be that effective with stress fracture), and force others to beat us, UK wins this going away.Except that Clark shoots 40% from 3 and brown shoots 33%. No difference there.
So you're calling all of our players selfish? There are a few things that you need to know about KSU with Wade in the game.
Wade is fundamentally sound. He can score in the post or from the perimeter. He can facilitate the game for his teammates. Brown and company are much better when he is in the game. The only thing keeping him from being more on the national radar is a signature win, and his unselfish play. He is kind of the opposite of every player on your roster.
KSU is a good defensive team. They may not have the athletes that Kentucky does, but they are scrappy and will make you play ugly. Their interior guys are tougher than they are given credit for.
If Wade is limited, I don't see how KSU wins this game. With Wade out, KSU is limited to Barry Brown hero ball. The kid plays hard, and gets a few buckets, but his talent level doesn't match up well with his effort. The other guards can be sped up and forced into committing copious turnovers.
If the game is tight at the end KSU does not finish well in pressure packed environments.
I like the "goes home" part. I hope we can help with that. [winking]No I'm saying that he doesn't want or get the hype that comes with being a member of your team. He brings his lunch pail to work, gets the job done and goes home.

Good assessment, thank you for sharing. So to sum it up, you are saying KSU has no shot in hell in winning

You paint a vivid picture my friendI don't see it going well for him. Stress fractures are no joke. First crossover from Shai and he'll go down quicker than a bewildered geriatric in an understaffed elderly home.
