First - Stupid suggestion from Jay and ESPin... so dumb in so many ways. Would he say boycott if the final four were on say.... ESPin? He's a joke.
Second - if you want REAL change in college sports boycott playing UNCheat and Duke. Certainly both schools have been exceptions to the rules for some time - most recently of course the Academic fraud that is UNCheat.

Brilliant! Let's attack the economy of these evil cities that would dare host an NCAA event. And while we're at it let's strip paychecks from hard working people, that have nothing to do with the NCAA, that would work these venues. Jay has his money so no need to think about the lowlifes who depend on the revenue to pay their bills.

Probably not enough thought or significance attached to this,I wonder if ESPN would allow either of these two(Rose or Williams) to say this if ESPN was holding a piece of the tourney pie. Someone in the media should ask this where it could be heard.
Just to be clear I agree with Aike's thought on this and believe it is correct.Just another example of how ESPN has gotten all over the map and how out of touch and out of control they have become.The company should be embarrassed

I used to think Rose would be a fantastic recruiter , has a cool persona , screw that . Let him " contribute " to ESPN .
Perhaps it's time to end academic scholarships and give them to the best students. Shouldn't that be the mission of a University?

I would think this might make ESPN a little uncomfortable but I suppose they are trying to grab some headline shock value because they have been left out of the scandal circus a bit,they have to dance around their fair hared boys at Duke,UNC and KU (cause no one play attention to what is going on in Kansas)
Rose,Williams (and Bilas for that matter) just want to appear to stir up enough trouble to attract attention.They know people will watch the tourney no matter so they figure they can say whatever they like,but what if we didn't,what if we didn't watch ESPN and Joe Lunardi at all and flooded social media with the reason we weren't going to do so.

this is dumb the NCAA would then say fine each scholarship is now worth this amount of dollars over 4 years if you don't play the 4 years and graduate with this gpa then you will not get the left over of the scholarship money or better yet at the end of the 4 years they will give the player a bill of what their scholarship didn't cover. this is beyond dumb. The first step is to let them make money off their imagine if they are crafty enough to do so, give them a small stipend so they can act like poor college students (seriously my depart paid me like 500 bucks every two weeks and I got tuition paid for in grad school for being a TA at UK, this also varied by department on how much each TA could get paid so mens basketball could have a higher stipend then womens basketball based on revenue brought in) also if someone will give a kid a loan based on future potential (not to go to a particular school) then let them, that's on the individual making the bet that a particular player will make it to the NBA and should not concern the NCAA, also get rid of dumb rules like getting a ride from another players parents is an infraction.
Amen brother or sister. I am the same. Only UK games period...football, basketball, and baseball. College athletics died for me October 13, 2017 when the biggest cheaters of all time walked. I heard somebody say Roy Williams, three-time NCAA Champion the other day. I thought..2005 and 2009 with ineligible players and both should have been voided, and last year, when anybody else would have been serving probation, and should have not even been in the tournament.

UK should start the negative posters from here. That way, when they lose, we can all trash them and talk about how terrible they are.

Hey Jay and ESPN, why don't you all suggest the boycott start RIGHT NOW? That way these athletes won't be exploited by the big bad TV networks.
The hypocrisy here is on so many levels, it's hard to keep up with it.
ESPN personalities love to run their traps about topics that won't effect their bottom line but definitely will others and in this case ALL NCAA players, not just the future NBA'ers.
Those same NCAA Athletes that are being "taken advantage of by the NCAA" are the ones on Sportscenter and other College athletics shows. Heck ESPNU was built on the backs of College athletes.

Coach K found the equivalent of his own personal Sutter’s Mill when Colangelo gave him the infinitely unfair recruiting advantage of handing him the Team USA job. That and the combination of brining in Capel to do his dirty work is what really changed the landscape.
Is he really suggesting that the players basically refuse to play in the NCAA tournament? Yeah, that's gonna happen.
I think Duke and UNC should sit out the tournament.

You don't have to agree with the reasons behind the demonstration to acknowledge it had a dramatic impact on the university and its leadership. And that was just one regular season game for a football team that wasn't that great.
Just imagine what would happen if Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, etc. coordinated a bowl boycott. It probably wouldn't ever happen, but I imagine amateurism would be dead by the end of the week of their announcement.
Im the same way...Used to i would watch a good college game no matter who was playing...Now I dont watch any until maybe the tourney begins.....Basketball just aint as popular as it used to be and if players want the money they need to just suck it up and wait til they are out of college to make the money..

I think we have a deal. The players get a stipend and we get a reimbursement check or dividend. I'm back in!
