A 2018 recruit was out "bid" by an unnamed NIKE rep who negotiated with AAU director Jide Sopido to place a future recruit in a specific school over two schools that are sponsored by Adidas. Dont shoot the messenger on this one. Could be rumor..Also hearing they are looking at Bagley.And Capel could be dirty.Duke recruiting has really picked up the last 3 years with 15 5* guys and counting

K has made a mockery of the student athlete more than anyone. When he came to Duke players actually had academic standards. They are a private institution with Ive league blood. He will leave it with Duke taking anyone regardless of grades and academic status. He's a fraud.

Krazewski is the biggest hypocrite in sports..I loathe that man and Capel too. To cheat like they have over the years and NCAA turns a blind eye, makes me ill. i hope they are next and get some serious raging punishment. Screw em.!!!!
You don't go from getting scraps 2008-13 (4, 5 star players) to getting everyone you practically want 2014-17 (15, 5 stars) without something fishy going on.

Imagine if Duke and KU ended up getting caught up in all of this while UK remained clean of any wrong doing. With UL and AZ being caught, and UNC still facing a huge scandal (and the NCAA perhaps having more pressure to act on their case in light of the FBI findings), UK would literally have most of it's main competition in recruiting and NCAA tournament competition wiped out, or at least, put at a serious disadvantage compared to UK.
Unless I misunderstood your post, but how this could be Duke that outbid a school for a 2018 recruit when the only two guys that have picked Duke for next year is Tre Jones and Cam Reddish. Don't think Duke had to outbid someone for these two guys.
Also, I don't think Bagley had to be paid to reclass and be eligible for the draft a year earlier...that would be an easy answer.
And it's easy to wonder why the recruiting picked up, K's association with USA Basketball, Capel and the fact that they went all in with OADs. They are selling showcasing the player and fast track to the NBA...pretty simple.
If the FBI finds criminal activity with Duke and Kansas and the NCAA doesn't punish them, then the feds better investigate the NCAA and everyone should sue the living piss out of them.
The FBI could literally have a video of ratface handing a recruit a sack full of cash and the NCAA would say, "oh look, someone is dressed up in a Mike Krzyzewski costume trying to frame Duke."

With the signings of Duval and Bagley, I think Duke has gotten greedy and I think they have mistakenly come to believe they are bulletproof. Both guys were Capel targets.
Reminds me of us in the '80's. Joe B had always recruited well, but Sutton was hired and all of sudden we were getting everyone we wanted. I remember when Chris Mills signed I was stunned - we never got those top California kids if UCLA wanted them. I think Sutton was overcome by his own arrogance and thought Kentucky was untouchable. I wouldn't be surprised if ultimately Capel turned out to be Duke's Sutton.

You kidding? I discovered j lee in grade school in the mid 50s. Paid $6 for a front row seat to see him and his sister linda gail in '73 (?) at an infield performance at a stock car round track. they were fabulous. best entertainment i ever bought right up there with the $6 ticket i bought in '65 for a stones concert in dayton oh. cheapest ticket available. after entering the arena, because there were so few people there, just before they came on stage, the pa guy said everyone could move up closer to the stage---wound up seven rows back. my friend caught a drumstick that charlie watts threw to the audience. i ramble. sorry.

I have a story about Jerry Lee from when he played at the Fulton, S Fulton tn at the banana festival (early 60's). He offered me and my cousin a drink from his Jack bottle after we were caught sitting on the hood of his Lincoln.

You never knew what kind of performance you might get from him from one to the next. sometimes he would be so ****ed up he might talk to the audience and cry while talking about his dead mother, as he did when my sister went to see him in indi later the year i saw him. but when he was sober he was fantastic.
He was pretty good all Jacked up. He gave us front row seats after he asked us if we had tickets. We didn't have tickets. We were escorted in by some of his people. It was in a tent. It was great.
K will never get pinned for anything. He is too smart for that. He lets his assistants do the dirty work and they will take the fall. If they are dirty, and I think they are, it will be Capel who goes down. K will retain plausible deniability.
