Painting our brick within the next year. Certain houses it looks odd while others it adds character.
Painting my brick home here in the next week or so as well. Part of the reason im doing is the efflorescence that has built up through the years which takes away that clean brick look. To each their own obviously but i think a nice painted brick home looks good.

More important than keeping the brick's original color is removing every wall on the first floor and just having one large room where people can feed their fatasses at the oversized kitchen island while keeping an eye on their favorite TV program above the fireplace in the (former) living room and observe everything and everyone in the house at all times. 4,000 SF of walk in closet space and a fully operational commercial bar area in the basement is also recommended. One single neutral tone and barn doors a plus.

<-----light tan painted brick on a new construction. Looks fantastic IMO.

Side note 1: I axed 73 and 80 about the pros/cons before I made the call, Chief chimed in that it was impossible to do on a new construction due to curing (I'll search the catspaw archives). Turns out builder used paint from Chief's employer (SW?) and it was lifetime warrantied. Great call!

Side note 2: Saved $2-3K by using a veritable cornucopia of leftover bricks of various races, colors, and creeds. I was happy to save money but...well...you're all in at that point. No ****, I counted 8 different colors (including purple) on one side of the house alone. I'm sure various neighbors had to down some valium for a few days.

We have an exposed brick wall that cuts through the middle of our house, which my wife has wanted to paint "to lighten the room" since we moved in. I've stayed firm on my "no." and then one day in Lexington she consulted Geese and he was all like "Oh yeah your way will look great DO IT."

Painters coming next week to finish it.

Congrats on sealing in the efflorescence so that your bricks will slowly decay from within.

-whitewashing brick>painting brick.

-if you have ugly (tan or pink) brick painting is a good option. Has to be the right house.

Can I just buy the rights to sell the rights, Max? Is that something you'd be interested in?

Opening Day of Mashing Season, btw. Big one against The Has Beens tonight!

I like my house. Don't think I'll paint the brick, tho.

Dammit. I just spent 15 minutes in photoshop painting my house blue and I saved it when I had the blue layer turned off. Touch it. Pretend it is UK blue.

I have a small 50 gallon water garden feature that is home to 10 common goldfish and one fancy tailed goldfish. It is a beautiful place where my water lilies, hyacinths and water mint plants thrive. Zero mosquitos breed in there. Zero.

No mosquitos, no koi. Dammit.

brag in any way, and you're basically just teeing up the next conversation to get clowned about...

I know there's cool stuff out there that needs me, now what is it??
Yesterdays' delivery was a $20 bidet (washlet style).

It has some of the best Q&A on Amazon:

Q: Does this shoot ice cold toilet water right up your butthole?

A: Yes.

It's fine, but would no doubt look better with brick. Also needs something to balance out the font, those basement windows and small shrubs look off. Maybe Geese can help ya.

That house is classic and beautiful. Some of you all are just rednecks.
That house is cheesy schlock that's been gorped up through its generation of owners. It started bad and got worse, no doubt.

For instance: Jefferson used Chinese railings to hide his "high-tech for the era" shallow roofs and requisite "new-fangled for the time" materials. This ******* uses it to add the equivalent of a toddler's royal crown party hat to his porch and you hill-jacks are genuflecting in awe of his majesty. OH, I COULD GO ON...

-joey is correct...not functional balustrade is a dumb.

-those dormers are undersized...one of the most common errors in "old house" renovation is under/oversized dormers.

Dormers are undersized, non-pedimented, and there should be 5 or 3, not 4.

Someone should call brax to incompetently tear that wreck down

Just saw James Young coming off the Celtics bench after a timeout. Figured he was Pecker Gnat or whatever their D league team is.

I don't get the NBA playoff schedule. The frist round lasted over 2 weeks and now the Celtics and Wizards will both play their 4 game in 6 days tomorrow. The Wiz looked gassed in the 4th.
