Peaked in December?

I can see why someone would think we peaked early - if you look at our points per game. Since the LSU game, seems that our scoring average has gone down, but that's been during our win streak. So maybe rather than peaking, we are learning to play less of a run and gun tempo, and learned to adapt to grinding pace, and still win...that's maturity

The scoring was always going down tho. We played fast teams non conference like UCLA, UNC and Arizona St. The slower pace in conference games obviously affected our points per game.

But it is true that our offense hasn't been as good. We've turned the ball over more in conference. Not grabbing as many offensive boards either.

Funny.......this offensive downturn seemed to happen just as the defense has gotten better which makes me think the team has been so focused on the defensive side of the ball the past month that they have been less focused on offense.

Answer - I think you are spot on IRT focusing on the defensive side of the ball...but, 12 game win streak, I'll take it.

Yep exactly.

I mean something had to get better on the defensive side of the ball if we wanted to get where we need to be.

I'll take this. Over the past 12 games, this team has shown they can win a game with their defense just as much as they can win one with their offense.

Been on a steady decline since. Hopefully just a bad night but I'm not confindent for Sunday's game.
This team is hard to figure out. They never seem to run on all eight cylinders. When one cylinder is humming, the others seem to putter along. Can't imagine what this team would be like if they stayed together for four years.

Especially in the tourney, defense wins games (although it has to be complimented by an effective offense), offense alone doesn't win.

When we are stout on D, we are tough to beat.

I do think the interesting thing is (and i have no stats, just casual observation) is that we do not crash the offensive boards effectively (outside of Bam). We sprint back and set the D.

Regardless, Cal's the coach, I'm a fan....he's done well so far...lol

the OP has to be on drugs. WE ARE THE HOTTEST BIG NAME TEAM IN THE NATION - FACT. WE HAVE WON 12 IN A ROW . So we did what all 2 seeds did today and yesterday - played down to competition.

My eye test doesn't say hottest big name team in the nation, but we have won 12 in a row, which is not insignificant. A man could have made some big money on Thursday on Friday betting the 'dogs
