I always think it is going to be fairly chalky in the first round and crazy things always happen. I just don't see that many upsets happening this year though. Saturday and Sunday will be some great games.

I never hated Skal. I just thought he was terrible, and a *****...which he was. He may not be now, and even if one day he is a perennial All-Star, he was a garbage basketball player in the 1 year he was here.

If you're 100% 1 and done, come to Kentucky ready to play or don't come at all. We're not here to babysit for a year and then shuttle you on to your fortune. We need something out of the deal.

Good grief. Not that I'm complaining but what is the IU fanbase thinking? Have they just grown indifferent and complacent with mediocrity? SAE said on here years ago that with the rise of the Colts most of their fans have latched on that bandwagon.

Top 6 program of all time with what used to be a rabid fanbase and IU is going to retain this clown that has a **** record in the Big 10 and hasn't moved past the Sweet 16? There'd be pitchforks in Lexington.

Skal's continued improvement will lead to a lot of revisionist history. I'm not afraid to say it. I *hated* that f'er when he was here. Because he was terrible, and a huge letdown. He did nothing for the program in the 6 months he was here. I'm not abh level or anything, and I'm happy for him to play well, but if you want me to take back any of the nasty things I said or felt about him as he stumbled around the court, missed wide open jumpers, got the ball stripped from his weak *** hands, got his shot stuffed back in his face, constantly got beaten for rebounds....


...yeah. Aint happenin. He sucked at Kentucky. He may be a great kid, and he may have a great career. Hope so. But he SUCKED at Kentucky.

While I'm at it.....I'm tremendously disappointed in Indiana. Pisses me off, in a weird way. You know, there's only like 5 states in the entire country that give a **** about basketball, and Kentucky, Indiana, and North Carolina lead the pack. BY FAR. It's fun to root against them, and to watch them embarass themselves, but when they've nearly given up hope of even trying to be a great program again, then we've essentially lost one of our biggest competitors. We need Indiana to at least TRY to win big again.

Sports are so much more fun when your rivals are really great -- but just not quite good enough to beat you. Indiana has been a f'ing embarassment.

No kidding. That tourney win over UK last year should buy Crean another 5 years, imo. Maybe Cal should schedule them every few years, take an early season L, and ensure the Romeos of Indiana keep looking south.

I don't think anybody "hated" Skal.

(Except abh, who called him a "thug" for some reason I never was able to figure out. *****, I get. Weak, I get. Soft, I get. Scared, I get. But "thug?" [laughing] He was polite, well-mannered, considerate, timid. The 180 degree opposite of a "thug.")

Welp, I can't quit you NCAA tournament.

Decided to go the Friday route. Booked tomorrow at the Sheraton. Plan is to be there by 9:30 or so. Grab a bite (Wodie, holla if you hadn't left Patachoue) and start cracking 'em. Damn, I always have a feeling of euphoria just after I finalize plans. Cannot....freaking....wait.

By choosing Friday, I'm guessing that will mean I'll end up staying all weekend. Zero chance I don't hang out and have a few beers Saturday watching basketball. Hell, the off day is the best day, imo. Besides, the responsible thing to do is to stay the night and not attempt to driver home. ;)
