KU & ISU are pretty even teams. The difference will be KU's MVP triumvirate, the stripes. They have done all they can & more to help the vastly over-rated squawks to victory, masking the short comings that would lead to losses to any other team.

Is KU the best team in the country? Probably not. Do they deserve the #1 ranking right now, at this moment? Probably. The #1 ranked team does not always mean the best team.

They're likely to lose at UK and WVU, but stranger things have happened. ISU always gives them fits, but they *should* win that one. For now, the rankings are symbolic more than anything.

Let me ask you this: why would I trust a bunch of crooked, non-athletic, Hilary Clinton voting, quinoa eating writers? The real poll has them at #1.

This post is indicative of the off-topic, politically charged rhetoric that has taken hold on this message board recently.

The AP Poll has been around. Does Double Oaked Juice have critiques of the AP poll that are objective? (BTW, there are objective arguments to make against the AP Poll). Or, should we all just forgo discussion about sports because someone yelled "Day VOTED FER HILLARY" at us?

Started watching the ISU game, but had to turn it over. ISU sucks hard. No passion whatsoever, bad shots, bad passing, etc.

#1 ranked team you've ever seen? I swear those guys don't pass the eye test at all for me. They're barely squeaking by terrible teams like Oklahoma State and TCU. Honestly, if they were in a real conference, they'd have at least three losses by now.
I'll reserve judgement till after January 28th. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There is letting them play and there is this. A joke. 4/5 of the game gone by and 6 fouls on one team and 7 on the other. Why do we never get that?

When you coddle a kid they fail in the real world. When you coddle a basketball team, they fail in the early rounds of the tournament. Kansas doesn't know how to play basketball when the calls don't go their way.

UCLA has the best win of anyone in the country and their lone loss was on the road to another Top 10ish team at the buzzer. I don't get why UCLA isn't getting respect.

B12 refs call way less fouls than SEC refs, even after accounting for a fact that you got a team like WVU that fouls like crazy just because of the style the play.

Iowa St is 4th in not fouling this year. Last year they were 6th, year before that 3rd. So I guess not calling fouls on them is pretty typical.

their guards are trash, dont care what the numbers are.
I disagree. They're pretty damn good. Shooting better than 50% from 3 last time I checked. Their backcourt is carrying them, imo. It sure as hell isn't Lucas or Bragg. And Jackson hustles but he can't make a jumper to save his life.

Prohm is out of his league in the Big 12. There's no way in hell they should have been allowed to jack up all those 3's when you have Burton down low who was clearly too much for Lucas to handle. They could have fouled Lucas out by the 12 minute mark if the 2nd half but they kept jacking up those 3's. Bad coaching.

The way we look defending right now I'd say Frank Mason is licking his chops. I honestly can't stand watching him play but he does get to the rim at will
I'm sure our guards are doing the same thing. KU has had a bunch of nail biters and seems vulnerable. UK is number one in Kenpom. Also UK has a good defense, it is number 13. Remember our fast tempo creates more possessions which creates for more scoring opportunities on each side.

The worst N0. 1 team I can recall seeing was San Francisco in 1976 (I think that was the year). Got blown out by about 40 in the NCAA tournament by UNLV.

Iowa State is Kenpom #23. How is that not a good road win?

Ha, I mean good ol' fashioned rivalry hate is healthy I think...but how do you figure this again?
Look at this guys last
Only Kansas can go on the road & commit 4 fouls in a half. Unbelievable.
Literally everything you post sounds really stupid to begin with...and remains really stupid after the fact. Kansas shot 5 FT's all game and amazingly we don't batch b/c we know thats the style of game that was played.

Burton wasn't too much to handle down low at all.....He was too much to handle on the perimeter bc of his quickness, not his low post game. He was 9-21 and I bet 7 were outside of 15 feet.

One day I'm going to ride into Lawrence in a Boss Hogg caddy and I'm going to punch every smuck with a KU shirt. That's my bucket list. I'm going to punch so many KU fans in their face that it'll be in history books.

Maybe, but there is NO chance that officials foul out Kansas' only big man left. Not to mention, the Big12 doesn't call many fouls to begin with. If a school like Kansas or Duke have just ONE guy left for a certain position, you can safely bet that they will never ever foul out.
