I think Roy is way overrated.
He is by far the coach that's done the least with the most talent. Not even debatable.
K is one of the best coaches ever of any sport. Not really his fault he gets all the do-no-wrong treatment ... though that seems to have diminished greatly, thankfully.
I respect K as a coach.. don't care for him at all other than that.

K is a good coach but not as squeaky clean as everyone wants to make him out. He will go down as on of the best however.

I'm not sure what he could have done about it, but I have a hard time believing that K would have stood for the Academic fraud that UNC has perpetuated over the years. He has many flaws but I dont think he will stoop that low.

IMO, K is the better coach, but I'd rather have a beer with Roy. K just seems really fake, and Roy is seems like a laid back kinda guy.
I remember us loving a coach that lived on crackers and Dr Pepper. Ugh, lol.
'Ol Roy for me. K is a complete fraud. K pretends to be about ethics and morals while he plays dirty players and berates players from other teams while HIS player commits flagrant cheap plays. Otherwise known as a hypocrite.

Your team has had their share of thugs that was well known before they came to UK . As long as they can put the ball in the basket you take them. Through the years there have been many sanctions on UK so don't try to be so sqeaky clean. Take care of your own shortcomings and let others boards take care of theirs. I respect how Carolina players go about their business on the court. You hardly ever see one whinning, flopping or tripping. They usually look like a respectful bunch compared to self entitled Dukies. For that reason I'm going with Roy.

This is spot on . K can really coach and is one of the top greatest college coaches of all time but he is shady and thinks he is above everyone else. Roy is a decent coach and has won 2 titles but he isn't in the Cal/izzo/K / Pitino elite league. He belongs in the next group with guys like Beoheim , Self ect . Good coaches , just not great.
Your language proves just what I said, no character and vulgar nasty mouth. You have been hoping for years that it was K's last year, but he is coming back stronger than ever. Duke will be back, so keep your eyes on the rankings and the tourney. Keep on saying how good UK is, playing such good competition in the SEC. Maybe it will get u to a # 1 seed.

Honestly, I don't feel I've been given a fair shot at evaluating K. I want to like him as an Xs and Os guy. But it's so hard to tell with that whistle and those seedings. My sense is he really is above average at Xs and Os, but not superstar. Somewhere around where Pearl is. If you switched 'em in a "Being John Malkovich" fashion, both schools would maintain their exact current results imo, as long as no one else knew it was Pearl in K's body at Duke and vice versa at Auburn. No question at all K's an elite motivator. His recruiting is again tied to stuff I've not been able to see on a level playing field, but given his Olympic run he'd pretty much have to stay a top 5 recruiter no matter what, at least in the current era which doesn't have many bluebloods.

Sorry, but give my Roy any day of the week over K. K allows rapists to play on his team. He teaches his players to take cheap shots, flop, whine, *****, moan, and so on. Not to mention, K's record would be a lot worse if they didn't get all the calls they get. Also, only K can take top teams and lose the Mercer's and Lehigh's of the world. K is a loser, who's benefited from having just about every meaningful call.
K's a better coach, Roy's a more likable person. Just my take from afar, but I feel pretty confident in it.

K is one of the top 2 college coaches of all time. His records of wins (1,000+) and NCAA Tournament wins (90) never be touched, and he's not done yet, 
Unlike some Duke fans, I always respected Roy-Will and he would fall historically a notch below K with coaches like Boeheim, Pitino, and Cal
