I know many may not be a fan because of UVA's style of play. But the dude wins. Still relatively young for a coach too. What say you?

If he can win, get to FFs and win a championship in a 8-9 year frame on average, while playing an appealing style of play, I'm for it with him or anyone.

Possible. His recruiting will improve while at UK obviously, but will he be able to sell the best recruits on his style of play?

Being honest. Don't know much about him, but his teams do play very good defense. Not sure UK would be a fit for him though. UK is an island unto itself.

No his style of play is beyond atrocious. Slow it down boring style. Teams play great defense but that only works against teams with not that good of an offense.

Hell no!! Hate watching them play. That style will never win a championship. Have to score points to win in march. Their disgusting to watch.

I'd take him in a minute. If he gets a big job where recruiting is easier than in Charlottesville ... I think he'll kill it.

He is a very good coach but his style of play isn't very appealing to recruits or fans. I would hope UK could pull anyone they want for their next coach.

Hope so. This guy can coach our defense whenever Cal feels like retiring or returning to the NBA.

I have a feeling his tenure would play out like Tubby's tenure except his success may be more middle tenure than early tenure. Cal clearly won't be leaving much behind in the one and done era.

This is fair thread guys - Cal isn't staying forever. I say its either a title or four more years for him, whichever comes first.

There will be a drop off.

I thought he was a singer. You telling me he can coach basketball??? Guy is like 90 years old and will be dead before Cal leaves. We need someone young like Justin Beaver (NOT).

You're assuming a lot by acting like he would be interested in the UK job. His system and philosophy is built on experienced players, defense, and execution. His record may get a building named after him at UVA but would get him fired at UK. And I think he knows that. He's like Mike Brey or Mark Few. Good enough to be successful where they are and a media darling for sure, but really not UK material.

Haven't you heard just like Brad Stevens Or Shawn Miller his dream job is to follow Clappy and coach the candy strippers . Hell when the NCAA drops the hammer on UofSmell and Pitino is gone after this year that sewer of a school might even offer him the head coaching job !
