I'm pretty meh about the holidays. Hosting my wife's pill head family is what ruins it for me.
Hid all the cash, guns and jewelry two years ago when we hosted thanksgiving. Apparently I should have hidden all the prescription pain meds as well.
So last year, what did I do? I bought a shitload of marbles and jammed them in the medicine cabinet. It took about a half hour before you heard 300 marbles bouncing off tile. That was the last Thanksgiving at our house, thank God.

-Considering looking into going back to school part time and getting my accounting degree. Not sure if it's even possible, though. I took a bunch of accounting courses for my finance degree, and think it would be more worthwhile (for me) than a masters. I don't know. Can't shake the feeling that I didn't accomplish enough academically in my life, and an accounting degree would open a lot of stuff up for me in my line of work. We'll see.
I was in a similar position and when I looked into it, it actually made more sense for me to get a master's in accounting than to get a second bachelor's in accounting. And that was without any accounting credits on my transcript at all. It would have been even easier if I was in your position and had several classes done already. Just something to think about when you look around.

Finally finish it this May, just in time for the newly more difficult CPA exam [sick]

Not looking forward to 73 chiming in on the degree conversation.

Shelley Duvall going completely off the rails and looking like a fat Imogene Coca? Huh, never saw that coming.

Rob, how did you keep the marbles already in the medicine cabinet from falling out as you loaded the rest of the 300?

Imagine if you had hidden bathroom cams.

To double major with accounting/finance it was only 4 extra classes.

Other than cost accounting and managerial accounting nothing else is useful. I really can not imagine having a solid paying career right now and sitting in auditing 101 for an extra degree.

[sick]

Education is mostly useless, and you can't even imagine making a good income.

Got it.

That's kinda where I figured you'd land in this discussion, but the confirmation is nice.

A little bit of regret on not doing the Champions Classic this year. Was having a bit of trouble getting going on basketball season. Extended baseball playoffs combined with a lull in the last 2 weeks for the football program were to blame, obviously.

Weirdest NYC/UK trip memory was being in real bad shape with Anth, way too late at night, and for some reason we stopped and got like 1/4 wheel of mozzarella. Sitting outside eating a block of cheese and we saw IU's team walk by, staring at us awkwardly. I assume that was from the John Wall/UConn game up there. Dont really remember much else though I still have a wooden christmas decoration that was on a table at Demseys.

My mental health really needed that win the other night. That win combined with the UL playoff gaffe and for a few minutes it felt like we were nearly whole again. I mean its been a long time since we had something to just give us a quick grin.

I like how all you dads let Richie believe yesterday that he'll get to watch basketball during his first week as a father.
First week is actually his best chance. IIRC, my kids were sleeping 90% of the time those first several days.

Now, after those several days...that's when **** gets real dicey.

I think that weekend started with us in that weird bar near the Park with your Real World buddy. Was that the 2009 John Wall game? Damn, thats a long *** time ago. I know we were crammed into that booth about 15 deep crushing shots, hot as a mofo, celebrating the re-emergence of our Wildcats. The other Rivers was on that IU team and that pizza was awful.

^Yep. I seem to recall a simple "Hello Jeremiah" as he walked by us. He was an odd looking fella.

Lol at Big EZ Eric Banks. He went to New York with no tickets to the game, no hotel, no real plan and of course I look down and he's courtside at the game. Then he stayed with some randoms who recognized him from TV.

Is he still alive? Dude lived pretty hard. I recall him writing a blog or something about just living on random peoples couches. He had the most chapped lips that weekend I have ever seen. Looked so painful.

That was one of our good times. We tend to have those when you feel like I'm worthy of your presence.

The prospect of having to pick up 300 marbles strewn across the floor would be enough to prevent me doing almost anything detrimental to my health.

Yeah he's alive and well. I think he made it over a year at one point just going from city to city on couches. Think he started his own travel company selling spring break trips or something. Not really sure. He's one who always lands on his feet. Last I saw him he was funneling like pint sized john walls shots at a buddy's engagement party, and this was like 8 months ago. J-Walls dont care about anyones age.

Maybe we can hang at Derby in a few months, Anth.

I hung out with Clark for 12 seconds in Nashville. Same let down as usual. Just accepted we're much better email buddies.

-Mizzou whipping Xavier early in the 2H

-GYERO's favorite Emily was hanging out in Mexico nude all weekend, it's documented on the webs.

I'm a doctor and a cop, Anth. I have a lot of responsibilities.
You take yourself way too serious. Probably why you have a constant Charlie Brown black cloud following you. Loosen up. We're not going to rob a bank, you're just going to wake up with a bit of a hangover.

Also, I don't make plans on Derby because...

Just noticed we have over 3 million views. [laughing]

How much of that is gyero regulars hitting refresh for a new post?

Better question...How many are true lurkers? This is still my go-to resource for UK athletics during the work day. Twitter is great....but this thread is unbeatable 8-5 M-F. I know several guys that follow GYERO as much as I do.

carry on

Be sure to tell the Flight Attendant that the next time you're on a plane.

14 years of post high school education working out pretty good now. In retrospect, being a financial planner seems much easier and quicker path to the good life (unless your born an hvac heir.)

Perfect day for the golf course. Good lord the pin positions were evil though...shew.

Gonna see Donnie Baker tonight at COB. This should be fun.
