Have you ever met him? I met him while he was driving a cart at Commonwealth Stadium.

I used to work in Lexington, and our group went out for lunch one day to this place downtown. As we were leaving the restaurant, Mr. Keightley walked in with a few others. He was wearing the exact same UK polo shirt as I was. He looked right at me and smiled really big and said, "I like that shirt son".

I did when the Craft Center first opened and he was there down on the practice court. I think that was maybe a year or so before he died

When I was a student, I would always wait in line to get in the front row of the ERupption Zone. We would call out to him and he would come over and talk to us during warm ups. He was the best.

Yes, I met him on Maui when UK came for the Maui Invitational. I asked him if I could have my picture taken with him, he said, "of course!"....I'll try to find it....and post it....if one of you smart folks will walk me through on how to post a pic.

I bumped into him one night in 1972 at a bar called Ray's Place in Cynthiana. He was drunker than a lord. He tried to pick up this woman I was with real aggressively, made her feel very uncomfortable. Later, he started singing Sinatra's "My Way" in a sloppy, obnoxious voice until people were throwing things at him. He started crying then, and telling some long story about how he had always wanted to be an opera singer. Then he heaved all over a woman's feet.

Wait a minute. That wasn't Bill Keightley. That was me. Never mind.

2 Adulterers, or Grover if you please, had a close relationship with him, since Grover was a student-mgr for the BB team. I met him and then spoke with him many times after the first meeting. He was very knowledgeable, likeable, and loved the Cats. He was an "Arnold Palmer type guy" in that once you met him, you felt like he was a friend, rather than an acquaintance. Most of all, and what I liked best, he hated UL as much as I do, which to say, is as much as anyone I have ever met. RIP Mr. Keightley.

I met him twice. The first was at Appleby's Park in the bar. The second time was at the open house for the Craft Center. He was in the equipment room greeting people as they come by. I walked up, shook his hand and said, "hello Bill, how are you doing?" He looked at me and said, "I'm fine. How are you doing?" The way he said it made it sound was like we were old buddies.

Met him in Houston at the Hilton during a Wildcat rally there when Gillispie was the coach. We were playing Houston that night.
