Asking the smarter people here for advice on bitcoin. I've been told today that it will blow up and has been increasing and should continue for the same reason that gold is high right now.

So what do the smart investors here know about this?
Some rich Chinese have been buying them because they don't trust their own economy. If they are finished buying then it might not run much more.

Or so I've heard. If that Is what you heard then I'd stay out.

Gotta give Jim Harbaugh some credit....dude has big brass balls going after Saban like that. I'll be rooting for them to take out Ohio State.

Your coworkers will be fired up tomorrow @Wildcat Willy .

UK football is its best when expectations are low. Ticket prices low, losses expected, attendance lackluster, crowd drunk... And the occasional win is something to be wildly celebrated. It's in stark contrast to what makes uk basketball fun; knowing that we're the best and being cocky about it. The dichotomy is what makes being a fan of both enjoyable.

Look I want a team to be proud of and celebrate. But when you set the bar higher with increased ticket prices, promises of wins, ridiculous coaching salaries, and all around trying to act like we are a big program without any of the success, it makes it where the little joys are no longer something to celebrate. It just makes fans resentful of the failures. UK football was always a "bargain." Paying the season ticket fee was mostly an afterthought. That bargain was repaid with our basketball tickets. You don't see SEC basketball programs raising their ticket prices exorbitantly and expecting an increased turnout and better product. If they want to raise football ticket prices, at least wait until we have a couple years of sustained success which causes demand to rise.

True, so should we recruit that way again. We need to quit cheating and get the guys who are thrilled to play D1 ball in Lexington KY. We do the things the right way baby.

What I say re: expectations has little to do with recruiting and what the coaches are doing on the field but more with how the athletic department is marketing the current product. We got a couple good recruiting classes and all of a sudden they have raised prices and are trying to push the idea that we should be competitive in the SEC when the on field product is still ****. Just horrible timing. Let the recruiting classes show their worth with some wins, then raise the ticket prices.

We are the football version of Gigli. "Wow this script is ****." "Yeah well we will just put a lot of money behind it and get ben affleck and Jennifer Lopez in it, surely that'll raise the bar and we can release it in theaters and charge moviegoers full priced tickets instead of going straight to video." Nope. Still ****.

Krazy - my only advice to you on Bitcoin is to Google "Mt. Gox". Then after reading all about that, do whatever you like.

And I sick of dealing withthe basement floor.

I've ripped up over 1500 sq.ft. of vinyl flooring and scrapped the glue off it. Worst thing I've ever done.

Ready to pay and have it finished for good.

Don't listen to this rube, Krazy. Bitcoin is the future. Pretty stupid to not have your entire liquidity in bitcoin so it is untraceable and you can avoid the tax man, imo. Google "currency arbitrage" if you really want the truth.

If I were you, I'd make sure that I leveraged my assets (especially anything that allows you to type on the internet) to go all in.

Also, whether you're an athlete trying to reach the next level or just looking to add more drive to your day-to-day routine, Zija’s line of Energy and Performance products will get you there. Message me on facebook or email me at [email protected] for more details.

The bitcoin question was a bit dated, but man, krazykat gets so much ****, and he's not that bad anymore. Gotta give it to the guy; he takes it in stride.

UK Football...

You have a cheap product and outdated stadium with low paid coaches, people ***** that you aren't trying...

You invest in the stadium and coaches and raise prices to, well, still cheap by SEC standards and results aren't automatic because building a program in the SEC is, really touching difficult and people *****...

Look, I get it. The Vandy game, UL second half, and missed opportunities against AU and UF where huge gut punches. And Stoops has been an unmitigated disaster as an in-game coach.

There is plenty to ***** about, but investing money in the program isn't one of those, IMO.

If I hadn't met krazykats personally on numerous occasions I wouldn't think he was real.

-Nice meeting Slice yesterday -- good dude, with a really good golf game. Dude tried to get me to play him as a 15 handicap, before I called ********. He's a 6-7, at worst.

We both hacked it around for a pair of 80s. UKO wasn't so fortunate. That idiot is lessons away from being low or mid 80s, but he hits it about 120 off the tee, and drop kicks every single shot. So bizarre. His 50 yards in game is as good as most single digit handicaps.

-Worried about my friend Anth, can anyone in Lexington run by and check on him? After some conversations, I'm afraid he's working himself to death, he really needs to dial it back in and enjoy life a little. He's always been like that, and it's not healthy.

forget investing in bullshat stadiums/coaches, Ole Miss is showing everyone the road map for how to take a bad program & start winning in the SEC. and there isnt a one of those Akbar fans down there who is pissed they did so or regret hiring a cheater. Anytime someone starts to preach ethics and morality they should just pull out their device & watch clips of their 2 game winning streak over touching Alabama to drown it out.

A lot of fans continued to get their season tickets and parking pass out of loyalty and habit for years and years. They'd tailgated with the same group and sat by the same people through decades of misery. Experiencing UK football with those familiar faces had become a tradition in their lives. To me moving people from their longtime seats near their fellow miserable fans and their longtime parking lots near their fellow miserable fans are what really triggered the decline in season tickets. The prices have been on the rise for years. People gave the new setup a try, it wasn't the "same" and we still sucked so they basically said, "F*ck it, I'm out." Bonus points for the traffic situation being an absolute clusterf*ck last season. It was as if the university spent the entire 2015 season trying to figure out new ways to inconvenience one of the most loyal fanbases in all of sports.

At one point I was the biggest UK football homer in the state. Constantly stood up for the program against outsiders throwing pot shots, many times which nearly turned physical.

At this point I no longer GAF and just look forward to Saturday's top games of the weekend.

As far as UK I watch basically with no emotion involved or anticipation of kickoff.

And that flat out sucks.

But, what are you going to do?

Good to see John Petty rebound from a slow spring and start to ball out here of late. Pretty excited about a legit wing for once.

UK Baseball coach resigns.

UK Hoops in turmoil.

UK Football ticket sales at an all time modern low.

UK Football coach locked into one-sided contract with enormous buyout after three losing seasons.

Mitch Barnhart is a fantastic athletic director and it's just "cool" to hate on him.

1. Play hard & physical
2. Schematically: competent coaching/limited penalties
3. Care as much or (gasp) more than the fans

I ***** a lot about silly aesthetic things (unis, turf, etc.), and they piss me off too, but those are the only 3 requirements I ask of UK football. I figured Stoops was good enough for 1 & 3 right out of the gate, and in time 2 would come around with experience, but to say I've been disappointed with the "culture" of his teams would be an understatement. The late season collapses are a product of a weak minded team, and that's what he fields. Dissension, apathy, selfishness... not winning traits of a program that already has the odds stacked against it.

Also, while I appreciate Stoops' hot-headedness/passion in a sense, he lets his emotions get the best of him and he has made irrational and costly coaching decisions as a result too often. He also tends to lose his focus in game; both lead to those game-ending sequences we've grown accustomed to (typically right before halftime).

I imagine he has the same tact with handling his players/personnel, which again is not productive as seen with the coaching defections and rumored "split" locker room.

Honestly, I really wanted him to be the guy, but I don't see it. Obviously a good DC where he is limited in his responsibilities, but not the one who can handle the massive job of running an SEC program.

Anyone watched "Catastrophe" on Amazon? Wife watched and was laughing out loud, which she never does -- so I read some reviews on it, all great, and ran through Season 1 last night. 6 episodes at like 25 min apiece...quick one like 'Master of None'

Comedies aren't usually my thing, but it's really good. Anyone who's been in a marriage or gone through the stages of serious relationship should enjoy.

[laughing] Would've liked to have heard some of those rebuttals. How exactly did you defend UK football? What on earth can you say about a program that has finished the season ranked ONE DAMN TIME in my life (1984)?

We are what we are, what we've always been. Your angst is on you at this point. UK football has never hidden what it is.

Agreed, it's a solid comedy and not a huge time commitment. One of the few shows the lass and I both enjoy.

If Stoops can't do it, and I'm starting to think he can't, then I don't think anyone that we can realistically hire can get it done. Once he's fired, my permanent expectations will be set to 2-3 wins a season, random bowl game every 6 years or so and celebrate like we got in the playoffs.

No one attainable will be able to recruit at his level, IMO.

Pretty much F U wait until next year! We got good recruits coming in. We almost beat Florida and Tennessee...

Maybe it's better the K looks like an H. Anything we can do to disguise ourselves to the rest of the world is probably a good thing. Maybe when we play Alabama we can play the game in UofL uniforms and pretend they got their asses kicked.

With as much emphasis as Lexington puts on baseball, there's no reason UK can't put together a competent baseball program featuring some local kids every year. It seems like UL recruits Fayette County more - and better - than UK, which is absurd.

I applaud your fire. I just enjoy UK football for what it is. Can barely muster any negative emotion at all- it's always been more of a roll of the eyes than pissed off for me. At least with the Bengals and Reds, we've been at the top and are on a level playing field. They have no excuse. I think UK football will always be behind the 8 ball.
