5 year olds are in K unless some kids belong to Scorpion.

My daughter is 6 and "graduates" this month. She has a December birthday and is a bit older than some in her class. She'll finish HS at 18, like I did. My boy will be 17, like his mother was.

One of my good friend's dad built an entire trophy case for him in 7th grade. They held him back in the 6th grade and he dominated all sports for the next two years. Trophies, nets, made-up scoring plaques, the works really, all inside a converted China hutch. Of course he plateaued, became a little disinterested, and everyone caught up to him. He graduated high school as a 19 year old. He's a doctor now (surgeon, actually) so he adjusted nicely.

My last post was a bit of a mock. I don't want to burn out my kid on sports, like my buddy's dad. I'll celebrate his achievements, but I'm not going to worship them. Being a coach (and a competitive ******* by nature), I have to train myself to not get so wrapped up in it.

So I remember the trophy case at my friend's house and how we made fun of him for it in high school. That's my motivation.

- I was 16 for the majority of my senior year. Parents must've wanted toddler me out of the house ASAP.

Hell this day and age, and damn bachelors degree is about worth what a high school diploma used to be.

Starting racking up degrees and salutations and I'll pay more attention.

- This gets recited a great deal but is basically BS. A bachelors degree is extremely valuable. "Racking up degrees" isn't an option for the vast majority and a 4-year still changes entire families.

Still needs experience and to learn how to consistently close, but Day is pretty Tiger'esque when he's on...which is pretty damn often. He just dominates the course.

Poor man's, of course. But not too poor...

-Wall = Hit. Happened yesterday or before tbh. Ready for home & doggies. Our trip (12 nights total, but really 10 of actual vacation) was short by most standards for something like this, but I honestly can't fathom anything longer.

I'm not saying a college degree isn't valuable, quite the contrary. I'm saying it's become the minimum standard for many good jobs.

Participation trophies aren't new. Pretty sure we got them every year.

Exactly. This sudden outrage about KIDS THESE DAYS and their participation trophies is ********. We all got participation trophies 30+ years ago. Baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, whatever. Pretty sure in swimming you got a ribbon each race even for coming in dead last.

Not that I would know. In true GYERO fashion, all my teams won every game, every year.

Every team got a trophy in my youth leagues. But first place was the largest trophy, 2nd was smaller, and 3rd even smaller. The rest got plaques.

Everyone got something, but the losers still got put in their place. Seemed to work out well for all involved.

Same here. And they always gave the worst kid on the team a "Most Improved Player" award too. Effing Gary. Kid was awful and cried every at bat after he struck out. We won the championship both years in spite of that leach.

Bigger upset - Spake and her man appearing to be cut from the same cloth or Rich properly posting that twit pic?

Great time today at the shoot. Nice place and a good cause. Actually ended up being pretty competitive. No spandex was worn and no participation trophies were given out.

They don't mess around any more, movies are out for digital download in like 2 months. Seems like Deadpool just came out and I'm going to watch it on google movies in like 10 minutes.

False.

I didn't comment on her looks, but I wanted to point out that I looked like a young & dashing Tom Everett Scott / Pete Sampras combo (post "That Thing You Do" and Tennis Major Championships - aka in their prime) with an Adonis form that had recently competed in sprint relays at the state track meet and had the charm to match in my salad days.

And I was fortunate to attend the University of Kentucky.

So I did pull hotter chicks than that, tootse.

I'm sure Gruden's chick was probably dope back in the day, but she's not aging very well...then again, at least she's not fat.

Do people even buy DVDs/Blueray anymore? I don't know the last time I purchased one. Stream all videos and if I want to buy one to keep, I just buy it on Amazon or Google Play and just keep it in the cloud. If I'm going somewhere with little to no connectivity or taking a long flight, just download to my tablet and keep going.

Lol she looks like a slim Jim. What an out of touch loser. She has as much fashion sense and natural beauty as a women's hoops coach.

Chad got murdered for this, but he was right then, and it's even more obvious now...

Nichols >>>> Spake

Rachel is really doing things. Pay attention.

And that hair. Is Shannon kidding me with that hair right now??? Gtfoh.
