We will never line up and beat SEC teams on the regular. Demographically impossible.

Find a QB who can sling it around and try to win games 50-40...Pac 12 style. Recruit smaller but quick OL and shifty receivers. Modified Hal Mumme style with a little more emphasis on Defense.

I get the ridiculous contract for Stoops, despite the poor performance. That SEC football, a money making machine, and if he can actually win 6+ games, the windfall to the program is massive. It would mean more if I actually thought he'd stick around after a couple of 7-5/8-4 type seasons, but no doubt he'd jump to an OSU/OkU/LSU/etc/etc/etc at the first chance he got despite the loyalty and patience Mitch has shown him. So it's whatever.

But Women's touching basketball? That's a money losing sport. Their only real revenue is attendance and concessions, I don;t care what portion of the TV contracts Mitch arbitraily assigns to them, if it's anything above ZERO, it's too high. Having a GREAT women's program does NOTHING for the image of the school unless you have a Pat Summit or UConn like dynasty. And Mitchell is nowhere close to ever having that sort of program. And even if he did, it would still be a money loser.

So, it's not maddening to me, but it's puzzling. I'm more annoyed with Mitch than Matthew Mitchell. Why TF should you pay him any more than than the women's soccer coach or a random history professor? It's asinine. Hire a guy like Tyler Summit. He has an excellent pedigree and would coach UK Hoops for all the soiled lady drawers he could sniff. He can clearly recruit.

Yeah, I think everybody besides Bbdk gets that but is it true? Fredo never achieved anything of note such as heading up a D1 program. That's why the unknown brother is Fredo. Still funny regardless.

We we're just talking about giving the job to a 30 year old D-II coach, so let's not get carried away with this "achievement" nonsense.

You see any other conference foe making monumental mistakes like that sans Vandy?
oh jeeze a couple right off the top of my head

Florida hiring Ron Zook
Florida hiring Will Muschamp
Tennessee hiring Derek Dooley
Ole Miss hiring Ed Orgeron

Georgia's decision to fire a head coach who wins 9-10 games a year for a Saban assistant might turn out as one of the dumbest poorest thought out in conference history. maybe.

And when on the brink who did all of those schools hire and how are they doing now to turn those programs around?

When Stoops was making one of the most important hires for his future he hired a zero expierence OC who claims he runs the spread yet had a RB, FB and a TE in the backfield on 60% of sets last year.

Obviously, the jury is still way out on Stoops and there's a ton of question marks regarding his ability to run a program.

That being said, I don't give a rat's *** who we hire bc as long as Mitch is AD we're bringing water guns to an all out guerrilla warfare battle with these other SEC schools.

Auburn has this McGregor sob funneling straight cash through a dog track to buy players & we trot out WWH and Huber.

Time to get fng real.

Pretty sure that UK has guys that know how to do that, besides WWH and @HUBER . Maybe football is a different animal though.

Technically, those two are throwing money at the Children's hospital, via Stoops fundraiser...so it's not really such a waste.
I was playing off of the long running joke that WWH and HUBER are the UK version of the Foghorn Leghorn dog track tycoon that funds Auburn.

Give me a break. Everybody except Mitch knows that red-faced chipmunk cheesedick is cheating *hard*.

There's no way in hell we are getting the kids we are getting without cheating given the **** product on the field and the complete lack of tradition. If it were any other school pulling in guys with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Georgia, Florida, Alabama etc. who hadn't won since guys wore leather helmets with a staff with no proven track record of success everyone here would be absolutely certain they were cheating. At least we have a fall guy. Thanks Vince Marrow.

:zzz:Just now a little over halfway though trip..., tired as balls. Turbo tourist is as exhausting as just about anything.

Wife must have 1.3 million pics so far, she's posted about 15. will be fun to run through them at a later time.

Paris til Sunday, having a blast of course.

Guess the one thing I've taken away is how much our great country could learn from these people, in so many ways. They seem to have most everything figured out, IMO.

Oh, and the weirdness of the time difference.

Paris recs/areas recs (outside the obvious stuff) the wife would enjoy appreciated. A little overwhelming starting out.
