Would the NCAA dare show preferential treatment to UNC say over a small black school like Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. You see poor Morehouse erroneously certified eligibility for 29 SAs who took remedial classes that could not be counted as progress towards degree(PTD). They had to forfeit all the games they participated in and were also charged with receiving impermissible extra benefits. Now SAs at good old UNC were able to use credits that did not count toward graduation as credits for PTD when they took more than the 12 hours of IS courses as prohibited by UNC policy. How did they get away with that? Oh yea, Deborah Crowder substituted the course numbers to make the courses look like lecture classes when they where were taught by a secretary in the independent study format. That makes everything OK. So NCAA are you saying fraudulent IS courses at UNC are superior to remedial courses taught at Morehose College.

You're not kidding. Did you see that piece on 60 minutes last night? Congressmen/women are "urged" by their party to spend 4 hours per day telemarketing/dialing for dollars but are "urged" to spend only 2 hours on the floor working on bills. Crazy.
OMG, I was thinking something very similar earlier today. After somebody likened them to OJ, I was thinking UNCheat fans bragging about getting away with it, would be like when OJ wrote If I Did It.
Maybe it's just my age, but I am 100% jaded about politics now. Can't trust anyone from either party. Even if they start out with the best intentions and are somewhat honest, they quickly find out that the only way you make it in that town is by selling out to the highest bidder and doing whatever it takes to protect your own job. No term limits, and a ridiculous pension system ensured that there is no reason to ever leave a job in government, unless it's for a cushier private company job which sucks off the governmental teat. Take a look at the pensions for Congressmen and the President, and then look at a serviceperson's who put their lives on the line multiple times. Politics is a cesspool, no matter what party is in power.

I warned him twice recently. The first immediately after he said he was fighting the urge to dump all he had. I told him if he had even a tiny instinct to keep his cards close to the vest to do so. I don't think he did. Later I posted to him that he was going to be remembered on a level exceeding BlueSuave, good or bad. I was hoping for the good.
As for being a troll, no. Aligned did not join recently. I completely believe his lengthy post from a few months ago following the passing of former Rafters poster Alumni Gym (RIP). I don't have the time to go into the details of how Alumni connected himself to the early developments of the unc saga, but Alumni was most definitely a UK fan, 100%. His identity is known. Aligned wrote of knowing Alumni personally and of sharing time together at Aligned's home in (or near) Owensboro during Alumni's final months, . I choose to believe it on a genuine level, enough so that it extends to a confident belief that Aligned is not a troll.
Also, there was a time when at least one pseudonym imposter, "In Line for Nine" did a decent job of distorting Aligned posts here on Rafters, which was obviously an angry unc fan. Not that that provided any proof of Aligned authenticity.
My early take is that it looks like Aligned bit the hook. Pack Pride's Manalishi bit it too, having recently orated the Twitter phony for his morals and commitment to duty. There is nothing in today's NOA consistent with the expectation. A small number of people were duped, masterfully so, by somebody with greater access than them, smarter than them, and just as deceitful as the institution for which he ran his bluff. Well played. This matter is closed. The only things that we can ask for is that unc never be allowed in Rupp, and that our boys never be required in CH.

In its place, the revised notice received from the NCAA on Monday takes a far narrower reading of NCAA bylaws, one that instead drops a sledgehammer on the women’s basketball program and that program alone.

There were 252 references to exhibits that showed how football, men’s basketball, women’s soccer, baseball and other athletes were involved; the amended notice makes no such references, and North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham said there were only 112 (not yet redacted and released) exhibits that go with it.
The allegations have become more general and less specific, with the exception of Boxill, who continues to play an oddly prominent role, as if she alone conceived, perpetrated and hid all of the malfeasance. Boxill, the former faculty chairwoman, served as women’s basketball athletics academic counselor in the Academic Support Program for Student Athletes.
The reality is that countless people who should have known better played a role for two decades, whether by admitting unqualified athletes, shunting them into phony classes or merely looking the other way.
They’re set up to get a free pass, as are any number of programs that competitively benefited from the academic fraud over the years, including the two big money-makers, football and men’s basketball.

We should refuse to play them ever again and dare the NCAA to call our bluff.That is the long and short of it,of course that won't happen but if UK's(and any other school's athletic administration) had a gut long enough to wiggle it is the right thing to do. Fans should boycott the games and protest outside the venue of the game

They would've handed down official government statements which justified all of their actions in war and which would've justified continued widespread human rights violations across the globe. According to the official news sources, they'd be the good guys.

Your squads included players who couldn't perform up to (at times) even a middle school standard, so people like Walden sent your boys to particular classes, including those which required no attendance and which were comprised of work performed or entirely revised by UNC staff. In other words, fake classes which almost cost your top 30 university its accreditation.
None of this can be disputed. But because these classes were split 60/40 non athletes (or whatever inhabitant ratio schools use to ensure that athlete dorms are not considered impermissible benefits… anybody who thinks something with 40% athletes on campus isn't intended for athletes should have all sharp objects taken away.. That level of stupid is dangerous), you got away with it. You got away with what everyone knows is the mother of all technicalities.
If you had an ounce of common sense, you'd retreat quietly, thanking your lucky stars to have gotten a lucky roll from the most embarrassing, inconsistent, and interest conflicted governing body in modern athletics. You might even feel a little shame for your program and hope to see your school take strong steps to gut all of the corrupt elements of your athletic department.

Bottom line: Basically your university is skating because they were brilliant enough to also enroll non-athletes in the classes. That's it. Players maintained their eligibility because of these bogus classes. And it appears you and the vast majority of your fellow UNC fans are fine with this. Elated even.
