I think if you told the students that they could abolish the football program *and* replace it with the nations first Coed Ultimate Frisbee team, they would go viral about it and tell Mitch to kiss their *** we want equality and no concussions!!!!!

Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unc has released the new NOA....

...and if the bball team receives a slap on the wrist it will be a miracle. Just incredible that the NCAA came back with a softer one than the first.

Beyonce is fine for a pop star, but she's not some transcendent talent. She's not even Whitney Houston.

Steph is out 2 weeks. So in terms of the NBA playoffs he'll miss one game.

He'll be "re-evaluated" in 2 weeks. It's a Grade 1 MCL Sprain.

Rolleyes at Chase. The news is very difficult to find.

-Not a single mention of UNC men's basketball OR football. Hilarious.

You don't feel like you should have to find ANYTHING, which is evident by you asking a touching question (or three) in every GD post.

Maybe learn the internet with your fancy new modem, ***** boy.

Welp, if the NCAA has decided Men's Basketball did nothing wrong, I'm flat done with the NCAA. Done. Tournament can get pumped. Don't even care if UK wins another title or not. Whole thing is a sham and rigged. Duke, UNC get to do whatever they want. Easy road year after year and allowed to get away with mass-scale cheating.

Done.

2 weeks is about Game 5 of their 2nd round matchup with the Clippers. Thats a pretty big deal, and its not guaranteed he's back then, and its not guaranteed he's at full speed. Sucks for Steph.

Men's bball was mentioned in the first 50 page NOA along with football. Neither are to be found in this amended NOA.

Because admins are great at one thing... spending money on themselves. Read recently where Michigan has added somewhere around 100 athletic admin positions in the last few years averaging $75k/person.

I don't doubt that at all, but Michigan is certainly not the norm.

At this point, I'm under the impression that the vast majority of athletic departments are frantically figuring out how to bump up the people on the admin side to meet the Department of Labor's proposed increase to FLSA overtime exemption regulations. Because most aren't making 50K. And most work a ridiculous amount of "overtime."

Like others have said, it's all play money anyway and the final numbers are largely the outcome of however they want to report it. For example... a small private school that's not in the SEC or Big 10 etc. probably doesn't have "fully-funded" (by NCAA standards) teams for Olympic sports. If there are eight "full scholarships" split up among the entire baseball team, some athletic departments get no credit for the remainder of the tuition payed by the 30 or so kids who are paying at least partial tuition and some schools credit all the non-scholarship tuition that the baseball players bring into the school as athletic department "revenue"... spread across 14 or so non-revenue sports, some (like swimming and track) with massive rosters, multiplied by a private school's tuition turns into a massive amount of money.

And sometimes they change the way they reports and it's a boon for the athletic department's bottom line even though nothing's really changed.

So does the UFC want to make billions of millions from a UFC 200 rematch between McGregor and Diaz, or nah? o_O

NCAA doesn't really make any money off of Football and the BCS isn't controlled by the NCAA, so Football is okay.

But pretty much F the NCAAT. Easy to say in late April of course.

Back from vacation, Caribbean Cruise on Carnival.

Cruise was pretty fun, and then Prince died. My wife is the biggest fan of his, and if you knew her, you'd know this. We found out on a bus on Grand Cayman, and she completely lost it in my arms. Flat out bawling, and I have never felt so helpless and numb with the news. We had tickets to the late Atlanta show, but when it got postponed and rescheduled for the following week, we had to get a refund because it was too close to the cruise dates for either of us to go. Wife is actually glad we didn't see the very last show, because she would've felt guilty like she killed him. That's how personal this is to her.

Enough of that. 15+ pages to catch up, and who killed the Prince thread and why?

Picked up a new driver today at golf exchange near Richmond Rd/Man o War...who walks in but Joker Phillips. He's going to be working on Ohio State's staff this year. Will be a "consultant" to the offensive coordinator. I talked with him for a good ten minutes. Nice as hell.

Really looking forward to HOFCJVC handing out personal checks to the guys as they come out for Big Blue Madness. Seems like everything is on the table, as long as you're blatant enough per UNC ruling

For reals though in these times of austerity we don't need to be spending money on "tutors" and "support" and "books" and whatnot anymore, do we?

Don't know why anyone is surprised. Said for yrs that a women's non revenue generating sport would take the fall. Carolina has been the NCAA's college basketball poster child for decades. Well before Duke became Duke. It's an old boy network and that doesn't answer to anyone. They weren't going to do **** to the men's basketball program.

At this rate, if we aren't cheating our *** off in football, I'd be severely disappointed.

Maxxxxxx you don't happen to live close to the former Romany Road Kroger do you? Just made an offer on a house there over the weekend that had been put up a day before. It was our second accepted offer… we made an offer on a house a couple weeks ago, they accepted… but when they had the inspection on their new house, it failed miserably and they decided they weren't going to move, after all.

We sold our house up here in 24 hours for 35k more than we paid for it. While I agree that we're paying more for our future house because the market has bounced back, we were close to renting for our stint up here and this (along with the fact that we had an awesome house in a great area) makes me glad we bought.

As much as I've whined on GYERO about living in the north, we're gonna miss a LOT up here. Definitely have made some of the best friends of my entire life up here, and they're gonna be hard to leave. And yes, the winters suck… but the summers up here are awesome. Tons of stuff to do and it's not quite as hot. The food scene here is diverse and excellent. Almost wish I hadn't been exposed to that, because I'm going to judge the **** out of places in KY now when I used to not care at all. Glad to be moving home, but it's a lot more bittersweet than we originally expected it to be. Honestly wouldn't rule out a move in the future if our jobs in KY don't go perfectly, but we'll be visiting Milwaukee often regardless.
