How convenient to announce the same day Duke staff visits Bolden...lol. Schille open now.

As I watched Fox feed Bolden yesterday I thought about the fact he's on a team of shoot first players...won't be seeing anyone create & dish. They create to score

Bolden to duke for sure now...they wouldnt have wanted thorton to transfer if Bolden hadnt told them he is coming and they needed to make room

I'm not sure why he would run Thornton off just to get Bolden. I would think they have more of a need for a PG than for Bolden. He would just be a luxury for them, not necessarily a need with Jefferson returning. Not too logical to run off Thornton.

K didn't force Derryck out, Derryck's dad didn't like the PT last year and potentially next year.

I do agree, though, that while Duke is stacked, there isn't a PG on the roster, and they are losing their best perimeter defender, and it isn't close.

Thornton made his mind up weeks ago when the rumor first came out but continue on with your conspiracy theory MJ.

K didn't ask Thornton to leave so they can sign Bolden. But believe what you want.

Obviously, no one is that stupid. It's the implication that does the trick.

The real shame here was convincing a high school kid to make a leap he wasn't prepared for in order to help yourself. When it's in the kid's best interest, reclassify and get paid sooner. When you and Brandon Ingram need a PG, maybe let the kid develop another year.

Duke will be talented next year, but they will not have a pure point guard running the show. Bolden will be a good get for them, but he's not an impact player. He better learn how to bang and rebound, because that's the only way he will get to touch the ball.

You mean weeks ago when the momentum shifted to Duke for Bolden?

You're at the scholarship limit, actively recruiting another five star player, and a freshman guard was disappointing. Then Grayson Allen comes back and Duke leads for Bolden and suddenly there's rumors of a "transfer?"

Sure thing. I'm sure K will "react incorrectly" if asked about this one too.

Frank Jackson is more than sufficient at PG. please stop with the Duke has no PG nonsense.

It's a joke that K made him reclassify and now he is basically forced to leave. Thornton let K lead him into a terrible decision. But, a ton of schools will be interested in him.

Thornton is transferring because he's going to be behind Jackson and Allen in the PG depth chart ..... and Allen is there because K wants Luke and their Matt Jones playing more SG

god i would love to get thorton, when he was still in the 2016 class he was Cal's top guy at point, i dont know if we'd have room for him, but a top 10 guy getting a year with the team and then being a 3rd year guy for what i assume will be a loaded team in 2017. pipe dream but it would be

Ready or not the kid was handed the keys as the starting PG for a top Division 1 program. Not many would have turned that down. I don't see what he was so unhappy about to be honest. He got plenty of PT.

Maybe he's not happy about being a bench warmer on next year's team?

Or maybe he did something wrong and Duke is covering it up AGAIN....

Frank Jackson is a point guard in the same way Malik Newman is. Being 6'3 doesn't make you a point guard. He's an athletic scorer. K will play him there but that isn't his skill set.

Maybe they'll be good enough individually to iso their way to a title but that system seems to need a floor general.

My prediction? Allen and Jackson trade out and never really settle into the role all season. Duke wine lots of games and falls to a team that can defend at the 3/4 spots and that kills them off the bounce.

So you can't find a reason for the kid to be unhappy and in the same breath argue he wasn't pushed out? Why would a kid with no reason to be unhappy leave of his own accord?

You do realize Its just as easy for their Duke fans to predict that we cant shoot the 3 well enough.. a team plays zone and we lose before the final four like in 2010 ... right? Its more of what you hope happens than whats likely to happen. Whats likely to happen is K and staff works Jackson hard and gets him to the point he's running the system well enough to give them a good shot at the title. Just like what Cal did with Knight

Jacksons going to a team busting at the seams with guys who can space the floor and create their own offense. He doesn't have to be Stockton. He can score from just about anywhere on the court. If he can just manage games, guard the other teams point and score like crazy, he's gonna be a major, major asset.

Bench warmer? Who says he would be? Wasn't he the better ranked PG than Jackson before he reclassified? If he's scared of a little competition then maybe its best he leave. Covering it up again? Like I said...continue with your conspiracy theories.

LMAO man I knew y'all be saying "Oh this means Bolden's going to Dook" LOL. S**t.

Hey how about you post how you think he's guaranteed to be a Cat and its only based on your bowel movement.. I mean gut feeling?

Oh did you already forget about the whole rape accusations and a certain player getting kicked off the team...... even though those allegations were a whole year earlier and it was a duke student paper that had to report it. whether you like it or not... that was proof Duke was trying to cover it up... and did so for a whole year as evidenced by no reports on it for a whole year.

Cal got Murray to reclass and helped him become a high lottery pick in one season. K got Thornton to reclass and now he won't even be playing in college next year. Who's better at maxing value for the one and dones? It's not even close.
Thornton is going to the draft? And I did that math in a previous post, Coach K's one and dones are drafted higher on average.

Hopefully he gets better recruiting info than his info in this one. This couldn't be further from the truth, in fact coach K tried to talk him into staying.
