I'm fine showing devastated students and adults, but I think it's ******** when the media shows devastated children crying after losses. Thoughts?
That's like being devastated by birds singing or rain being wet. It's natural and gonna happen.

I don't want my kids becoming memes so I don't take them to big time sporting events like an idiot.

It's hilarious how UKO and others on IC keep saying "It's an academic issue, NOT a basketball issue"

LOL, as if those two are not related at all in college athletics.
LOL but unfortunately that's what'll save them from the hammer IMO.

Their defense, and it'll work, will be "these sham classes were open to everyone and therefore not an extra benefit of being an athlete. We were letting all of our students get false credits!"

The "Carolina Way" ******** is dead and the school may have issues but the NCAA has an out if they want it. And they do.

I understand the extra benefit angle but, were they not essentially using players for 20+ years that in retrospect should be considered academically ineligible? Shouldn't that be enough?

Will go back to lurk now, TIA.

I don't think so. As much press as this has gotten, the NCAA has to do something. The banners may not come down, but I think at the very least, you'll see a postseason ban.

All the UNC bandwagoners (well over 50% of their "fans") can safely put all their baby blue gear in mothballs for about 2-3 years.

Bring on the sanctions!

Treating these early hoops rankings about the same way I treat college football commitments. The May 25th deadline is what matters, just like the actual Signing Day in football. Fun to banter about a bit, but nothing much matters for the next 7 weeks or so.

BIL is a professor at Villanova and played college ball at Belmont so he's pretty close to the team, and my nephew is a ball boy for the basketball team. They traveled to all the games, and my niece and nephew got to go to Houston too.

Tons of shots of them hanging out with team and fans at the team hotel last night. Really cool for them, couldn't imagine that if I were a 10 year old ball boy for the team. Just awesome.

We're going to be damn good next year, but so are several other teams. I wouldn't go in expecting us to just roll everyone all the way through. I'm not setting myself up for that potential disappointment. I'll be enjoying the ride, ATKOT.

The most important point is what players are coming back. If no Bolden then I want Lee back. Briscoe needs to come back. Willis comes back. Then who does Duke bring back? It would not surprise me to see UL go full UNC and stall any more sanctions to get one last Pitino run and then the hammer hits in 2018.

Mags52 made a great point now on his show. With Golden State dominating the NBA & now a similar type team winning the NCAA's, unless you can get the elite big men which usually is only UK & Duke then you are an idiot for not copying and building a team of shooters/drivers.

Hopefully this will be the final time I have to ask for money for the Bryant Bracket. I have also messaged you all directly.

cawood - $10
bucket - $30
coolcat - $10
bristol - $10
SALTLIFE ROOSTER (who the eff is this?) - $10

That's $90 I'm currently fronting for GYERO.

And there's $100 from others in the pool. Pay yo damn bill, people.

Why are you fronting the money? It's not like you all guarantee the pool, just give what you've collected to the winner and let them know who's welched on their money.

Well, not everyone in the pool knows each other. And honestly, I need to instate some more strict rules about payment cut-off time. However, I've always been lenient because we want as many people as possible to play so that it is more $ for Team Bryant.

And it's usually just people forgetting, not intentionally skipping out.

And who is Saltlife Rooster? I will find out.

Not getting expectations up on too early top 25. No won't do it. We don't know exactly how the freshman will play. I would give my left nut to have Ulis come back and run this squad. Definitely would be the favorite then and he would be front runner for player of the year. Not gonna happen tho.

That's lame AF to do though, and as an organizer you can't just say "well people didn't pay so you get less than advertised".

That spirals quickly and eventually no one pays because why should they!

-WS check your gchat. Hosscat paid last week.

-That was a HELL OF A TOURNAMENT. Start to finish. Wow. Favorite taken out by a 15, half court buzzer beater, double digit seed in the F4, Wisky buzzer beater, the Buddy Show, TAMU/NIOWA. Story after story.

-Tried the reverse jinx, because I always allow our rivals to win when I watch, but it was too much on twitter. I had to watch the end. Glad I did.

-I love the MJ meme. Bring it on.

-Mags is right, just load up on 3-4 year shooters and athletic drivers. Easy solution. That's why so many teams are able to do this and win. Just copy the GSWs and go get 4-5 undervalued guys that blew up at the same time. Lol. There's as much luck with building a team as anything. Wright tried that method for what? 13-14 years and finally broke through. I'll stick with elite talent.

Also, does anyone know who Danielle Harris is? I sent the account an email.

And sorry to clog up GYERO with all this, but it's clogged up my whole morning. Not that we don't appreciate the donations.

Because it's mostly done for charity and it's not real betting so it's basically on the honor system.

Please admit this is just a GYERO take defending an awful take. Honor system? Do you understand honor?

I'll just leave now, smh!

Iphone geeks: Have any of you ever purchased a new battery for a phone? Does that pretty much fix it? I have the 5s, and it's perfectly fine...all I really care about with my phone at this stage is the battery life -- which is really poor at this point, and gets worse all the time.

I agree to a certain extent, but this happens every time someone wins the title. In college basketball, there are a lot of ways to build a champion. UNC came thisclose doing it last night with Junior/Senior bigs who people couldn't keep off the glass.

That said, this is the reason I'm not super concerned about Bolden. I want him, but I also am intrigued by the offensive and defensive capabilities and versatility of a team with a Willis/Gabriel/Adebayo frontcourt.

Bolden would be great, certainly would love to add the best true big in the class -- but would still prefer an elite shooter if I had my pick for next year's team.

Wish we'd look at some of these capable grad transfers (that can really shoot, and have proven so over a career). Kansas is on the list for seemingly every one of them.

If we've learned anything about Freshman, it's that most of them hit a wall and seem to struggle shooting late...even the best of them.

-Chad got dead last 87th place in the bracket pool

Mine went to **** all of the sudden last year (on my last phone, a 5c) and I took it into the Apple Store and they fixed it FOC. Was perfect after that.

If you've bought multiple Apple devices and have been a customer for a while there's a good chance they'll fix it or replace it for free to keep you coming back. It's worth a shot.
