Just remembered, the selection committee moved Villanova out of their natural region and put them in Louisville so UNC would not have to play them in the region finals in Philadelphia. Ha.

I'll also stick my neck out there and say my Cubbies (been a fan since 1982) are going to be really damn good. Ok, well maybe it's not such a stretch. Regardless, F*#k the Reds, Cards, and Pirates!

Stick it in a guillotine for all I care. Everybody is trying to enjoy the hilarious/wonderful moment. You keep bragging about picking a two point dog and messing up the flow.

But Go Cubbies,

Looking at those G'N'R tickets for Paul Brown stadium. Shew, $287 face seems a bit steep.

Poor ol Kenny Smifffffff. Charles should've placed his balls on his shoulder..oh.so.delicately.

-Not lost in the irony...info for the Carson replay (1991) on Antenna TV listed Jimmy V as the guest.
-In my best Mel Allen voice...How about that...[cheers]

Glad the refs had to insert themselves in it while pyro was popping and confetti was dropping.

What a f'n weirdo. Like any kid gives a **** about his tie in that situation.
Saw that this morning, id drop that tie like Okafor dropped his Sixers jersey in his opening press conference. You couldn't get $50 on ebay for that thing

Deron Feldhaus & John Pelphrey think UNC should have at least tried to D up just a little bit on that last second situation

3 baby blue aceholes sitting down in the paint guarding absolutely noone. hell no Villanova guy even went inside the 3 pt arc.

-The McDonnell gal is dating Eric Hosmer of the Royals, I believe. Thought she looked familiar. I remember her from the World Series celebration shots.

-Watched the Nova stream for the final 12 minutes of the game. Nantz was just too much to handle. LOL at the homerism, but that's exactly what it was intended for. The final five seconds were such a blur that it's like all the noise was blocked out. For some reason I switched back to CBS immediately afterward because I wanted to hear what Raft would say about the replay, then realized I couldn't rewind back to the Nova call. Glad it's floating around this morning.

-College basketball needed that last night, in the worst way. CBS had gone pretty much out of its way to screw up a great thing(two-hour selection show, putting the title game on TBS, etc.), so it saved their necks in a small sense.

-As much grief as we're giving Rax about the whole skylift deal, it is pretty janky-looking. And even though I've been on it probably 25 times in my life, I haven't been on it since I became a parent. Just too nerve-racking with one single bar and nothing but air underneath. Thankfully my kids have basically begged NOT to ride it.

-Sprinkles.

There aren't too many fanbases I would wish a Laettheresqe shot on but UNC is definitely one of them. Dreams do come true.

We play them next year don't we?

God, still can't get over that. Incredible.

We love to point out teams that take the easy path, and rightfully so, but how about the opposite for Nova? Damn. 4 of the teams they beat finished ranked in the top 10, and 3 straight wins over the consensus 3 best teams for nearly the entire season...they deserved it as much as any team ever has.

Jay's reaction. Ha, what a pimp.

Tuesday :joy::grimace::raised_hands: Shorts:

- I'm just glad to put this season to bed on a high note. It was a weird year. Some good. Some not so good. Disappointing but hardly devastating.

- I hate Kenny Smith. Hate that turd.

- I love Crying Jordan, especially when I think about how much Real Jordan must hate it. [laughing]

- I used to love Nantz, but yeah, he's become a caricature.

- Props to Jay Wright. Stayed true to his Philly roots and brought home the hardware. He's one of the best 10 coaches in the game.

- Not buying this "the better team lost" narrative. Villanova is the better team. No doubt.

- This decade- NCAA Tournament wins over Top 4 seeds:

North Carolina- ZERO
Kentucky- 11

- ESPN's too early Top 25 with UK at #3.

To recap, UNC stormed back from a late 10-point deficit to tie the game, and would have had all the momentum in overtime.......and then Arch/Jenkins dragged their genitals all over the UNC players, coaches, and fans.

Glorious!

Agreed. They had the second highest margin of victory ever for a national champion, trailing only 1996 Kentucky.

Lost in all the hoopla of Jenkins' shot was Phil Booth coming through with 20 points. He was incredible. What a fun & deep backcourt that team has.

Gonna be really good again next year, too. Brunson, Booth, Jenkins. Bridges is a budding star...and Hart will be in the national POY convo.

Next year is gonna be pretty loaded with good teams.

Plus Nova gets Omari Spellman, a big hoss in the middle who Cal gave some attention to before he committed early. If he's in any kind of shape(think he checks in at 6-9, 280 currently), he could slide right into the Echefu role.

Especially impressive when you consider the path. No layups like UNC got all tourney.

Will be interesting to see which UNC players Roy lies to and cajoles into coming back instead of entering the weakest draft in recent history. Meeks, Hicks, Jackson, Berry, could all theoretically go. And probably should. And probably won't. If UNC gets all those guys back, they won't be total poop.

On the other hand, since they sold their sold for this tourney run, they shouldn't be playing in the post season next year. So there's that. Hopefully we get a nice long multi-season post season ban, and everybody takes a hike.

- The greatest thing about college basketball is that there is more than one way to build a national champion. There are tons of ways to build a program, tons of styles of play that can be successful. Some UK fans are stressing out about our frontcourt and then we see a team with one true big, a ton of guards and undersized wings make one of the more impressive tourney runs of the last decade.

- Best part about this is UNC just got a week's worth of ****** press and all for naught.
