Great reading on the UofL Scout site about the lawsuit.. I loved this genius legal mind in particular:

Re: Ramsey and Rutherford are being sued by RunSwitch PR
by KernelFactory
I have given this some thought, and this could a damn brilliant move by RunSwitch. Unfortunately I don't think they are this smart. While Matt Jones is not being sued, he is named as an indirect party in the lawsuit. Therefore the defending attorneys could subpoena all of Matt Jones emails since mid-summer of last year. I guarantee these emails will have enough information to bring down Matt Jones and KSR. I will bet money that Jones has been corresponding directly with Katrina Powell over the past 6 months and there are emails that will show to what depths Jones will sink to try to bury the University of Louisville. Jones better not try to pull a Hillary Clinton and start deleting emails.

They are gonna bring down Matt Jones and KSR! :joy: He guarantees it.

Another poster suggests that 93.9 is crushing Terry Meiners in his time slot.

I understand the "hey this guy is only 18 and mega talented , while this guy is 22 and mega talented." But sort of, with free agency, it is not like the player is going to be there 8 years from now when he would turn the dreaded 30. Most teams in the lotto suck and have dumb management, so when the 22 year old plays out his 2-3 year deal and can hit the market, he is now in his prime, 25 and want to win or at least be on a competitive team, so he bounces.. The team that drafted him, doesn't have to worry about his age, he won't be there. EXCEPT AD, I think he made a huge mistake staying with New Orleans.

Easy choice, give me 21-22 year old Valentine who is more mature and battle tested over the next Croatian sensation all day. Not a GYERO basketball, but I do know my stuff.

"we are being sued for defamation!"
"quick, issue subpoenas to this entirely un-involved 3rd party for all their cell phone & email records!"
"incredible, that is legal genius, we won't have to pay a penny!"

If you're in Jennings' position, you're not going to sue a UL mouthpiece for libel/defamation/slander unless you're pretty damn sure you've got a shot at winning.

EDITED TO OMIT EVIDENCE I'M A MORON RE PUBLIC FIGURES AND LIBEL SUITS

There's a pretty good chance Jones will be "asked" to give a deposition in this one. But all he has to testify is, "I don't know Jennings and he's never told me anything re UofL," and Ramsey and Rutherford have some problems. Those morons were basically just mouthing off based on message board scuttlebutt from other morons. It was incredibly stupid and irresponsible.

I guess Drew Deener is the boss of Ramsey and Rutherford? That's hilarious itself. But he issued a statement indicating that Capt Suntan had what he felt was a rock solid source. My immediate thought is what you said - message board scuttlebutt was his source.

They are bringing me so much joy. The whole mess just keeps giving and giving and giving.

I think Jennings can make a legit claim that falsely accusing him of dropping info to Matt Jones while working as a PR firm for UL did some legit damage to his reputation and business. I mean PR firms are about discretion and controlling the message, and you're going to accuse this guy of surreptitiously sabotaging UL while working for them? I mean, you better be able to back that up with something besides the GD Scout board.

In a defamation suit, as part of the settlement, is a public apology considered a standard thing? I mean, it seems like you would always want one, and does that hinder the other parties ability to appeal?

I don't know either guy personally, but based on mutual acquaintances I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Matt Jones and Scott Jennings aren't swapping SCUTTLEBUTT. Pretty sure this is going to be a landmark case in the "lol don't report message board rumors as fact, idiot" arena of law.

Or it could be a triple cross secret ploy by Scott Jennings to take out a sports talk radio show. Either way

On the topic of lawsuits, at some point does the University of Louisville face legal action from a parent who sent their kids on a recruiting visit and it turns out those kids were given whores? That seems like the kind of thing you could definitely sue a school for. If I sent my kid on a recruiting visit to a school and found out the school bought him strippers and whores, I think I'd be talking to a lawyer.

Pitino passed a polygraph. How many more times does it need to be said??

Not that I paid for it but boss bought me one last August and it was $1,300.

I hate the battery. Ran a good 6 hours and now it's pretty worthless. My wife has a Lenovo tablet with the fixed keyboard and I like it better than the Surface Pro.

Quick "legal" opinion------>maybe.

I have a feeling it's a pretty complex question. Immunity issues, was the kid a minor or adult, were they forced to sex the whores, etc...etc...etc... And at this point, it's likely the parent isn't the proper party to bring suit. The kid is probably an adult now, and will need to do it himself.

Maybe someone else from GYERO Law, PLLC can take this one.

I'll take it from here, Chase.

*clears throat*

It's my opinion that the University of Louisville is likely to be razed to the ground, the earth on which it stood salted, and much gnashing of teeth, rending of clothes on Floyd Street as a result of recruits' parents suing the school over whores. Just my opinion, honestly.

Lenovo and Toshiba are solid options for that price range, especially if you need to go laptop over tablet.

He shouldn't need a pro unless he has a need to be working in business related software.

My 2 has a great battery life and has been fine. I use my lenovo more because it's my work laptop but I'm switching to a Surface Pro when this thing dies. The Office 365 integration is really cool.

My girlfriend's randomass rapidfire texting style annoys the hell out of me. I have mentioned this to her no fewer than 100x, but my pleas to end stuff like this go unheeded:

Babe...
my hair appointment got moved to friday
my hair dresser is twin sisters with the girl in lexington who died last week

:(

First off- why can't that all be in one text? Secondly, why do I need to know this? What Friday are you even talking about? This Friday? The Friday I just booked us for a Keeneland bus trip? And who the hell is the girl who died in Lexington? What are you talking about? I asked for clarification an hour ago and haven't heard back. :chairshot:

"Apparently Scott Jennings has told people that he's done this," Ramsey said on the air, according to the lawsuit. "He thinks it is some badge of honor, but it is going to ruin your company, which is a PR firm, Runswitch. How can you trust these guys?"

"So if it wasn't them, then it was somebody in that inner circle who has access, was privy to that sort of information," Rutherford said a moment later, on the air, according to the suit. "Which, whoever it is, I mean, come on, I don't care where your allegiance lies, that's just not professional. They deserve to lose business based on this. I do hope that is the case. That is not how you do PR. You should not have a job..."

"Did I mention that I don't like RunSwitch?" Ramsey said, according to the suit. "Did I say that?"

The bold statements really are going to do them in per my non-legal background. I mean this is so sweet. Rutherford thinks he is so smart but he fell into the trap of the idiot Ramsey. What a time to be alive.
