I think you mean "old-fashioned", SAE. You're about the only person I'd correct on that, because I know it matters to you.

rogue: You still suck, terribly. Quit trying so hard, or really, altogether; tend your bar (or whatever) in Key West, enjoy the sunshine and STFU and go away.

The Warriors play the Spurs 2 times in the final week of the season. Those games could very well decide who gets home court advantage in the playoffs. The Warriors may be the greatest team in NBA History...who guards Curry lol...but the Spurs are only 3 games behind them, and put on a defensive clinic yesterday in holding the Warriors to 79 Points. Should be a fun race to watch down the stretch.

Kentucky picked a bad time to revert. The offense looked like it did two months ago.

Derek Willis: 15 minutes, zero points.

Jamal Murray: 1 for 9 from three.

The frontcourt: 14 points, twice as many missed layups.

Other than Ulis (of course) nobody really did anything.

I'm not shocked they lost, but I am shocked they laid an egg.

Fully expect Kansas, Duke, and UNC/IU to all make the Final Four.

In Cal's tenure here, 2 of our biggest rivals have won a total of 3 times, with the other two going to a team I hate almost as badly - and we handed it to them both times.

So yeah, UNC, Duke, KU all in the FF. Pretty much a lock. Syracuse will probably come out of the Midwest.

Ulis had an underwhelming 27. Missed a lot of good looks in the 2nd half. Looks that would have went a long way in in downing the Hoosiers. We all can complain about this and that, but honestly, we had our chances.

It's amazing how quickly things change. I just assumed I'd spend all day today watching basketball. Same thing for this coming Thursday - Sunday. Now, nothing. Won't even turn on the TV.

Why'd you make me a sports fan, dad?

And it's one thing when you lose in the national semis, knowing you only have to avoid any coverage of the tournament for 2 days.

But there's 3 more weekends of this ****.

Yeah I didn't watch in 2013 but we made deep runs the other years so I have no idea what the hell to do.

Who is definitely gone?

Poythress
Murray
Skal
Ulis

Is Ulis definitely in the gone category? Would he need a first round guarantee to make the jump this year?

What happens with Mulder? That guy is never going to see the court here.

Projected 2016-17 Roster:

Briscoe
Hawkins
Matthews
Mulder?
Willis
Lee
Humphries
Wynyard
Adebayo
Fox
Monk
Gabriel
Killeya-Jones

Pretty balanced squad. Can play big or small. Hopefully a few of them can shoot and it won't be 2010 v 2.0.

I mean, really, we can blame Cal or our garbage front court (and I do), but Cal and the front court have been pretty ****** all year. The loss was basically 4 things.
1. Murray shooting 1-9 from 3. ****** way to go out kid. Our 3pt shooting in general was just pure ****. I said it would come down to who hit shots, and we didn't.

2. With the exception of Ulis, and maybe Briscoe, nobody on this team had any heart. Skal, Poythress, and Lee are all complete pussies. Willis is just an oddball who may or may not care to be out there (plus gimpy). Murray is a black Canuck, therefore a weirdo. Just a bunch of shrinking violets.

3. SIX (6!) gd charge calls. Unreal, ridiculous, and completely inconsistent with the way things have been called all year long. Ulis/Briscoe have been called for defensive fouls all year long when the only contact was his chest making minimal contact with the off hand elbow. But EVERYONE'S HERE TO WATCH THE REFS! When you can't hit shots, you drive, and the refs were determined to take that away from us.

4 is of course on the Committee. Absolute ******** that the SEC and B10 champs were playing in the second round, while in the West you had an ACC also ran supposed to be playing a B12 also ran. The committee is wholly incompetent, as evidenced by them giving the Pac-Garbage 7 ridiculous teams, but they absolutely protect certain teams, try to rig matchups, and straight screw us year after year. Maryland was a 5 seed, why not put them against Duke? Oh yeah, cause they are hated rivals, and we have to protect Duke at all costs.
Selection process needs a complete overhaul, and some sort of accountability. Get rid of everyone on the committee this year, replace them with people who actually watch basketball, and give them a SET CRITERIA, made public so teams can understand what is being asked of them, and the public can understand their seedings. We live in a time with unprecedented access to data and the ability to crunch that data. Yet we still let a bunch of biased schmucks sit in a dark room and touching wing it when it comes to the sport's most important event of the year. An algorithm could do all the seeding and placements - MUCH MUCH better than these clowns.

So, in short, go *** yourself, NCAA.

-Really hope Skal GTFO. Don't want him on next year's team. He can become a really really good player, but I'd rather the NBA spend the 3-4 years that is going to take. Much rather focus on developing the new guys.

-Of course feel the exact opposite about Ulis. I know he's leaving, but damn, I'd kill to have him back. He'd average 12 assists next year. I get it though. He's not going to improve his draft stock, and this year's Drat is garbage. Credit to Cal for not guilting his players like Pitino did to Russ Smith, or Roy does to everyone.

-I assume Briscoe will be back, and I hope so. Really like his game, and it seemed like his FT shooting improved.

And please dear Lord let Ulis come back. Play yourself into the high first round next year young man.

I'd kill for it to happen, but Cal's already said he's gone, and really, he should go ahead and go. This is a terrible draft. Even if he's better next year, he'd probably go lower. He's already shown that he is an NBA level guard, all next year could do is risk injury, and have people nitpick his game. He's not going to get taller, so might as well go. Even if he's a second rounder, Ulis will absolutely make a team. I think he's a late first round guy. A smart team like the Spurs would surely take him.

The calls weren't that bad overall but that last charge against Murray was an all-timer. Like "Let's stop the game and ask that ref to define a charge and a block and make sure he at least knows what he's supposed to be looking for."

The only call that was incredibly egregious was the Poythress charge in the first half. Killed our momentum right in its tracks and Poythress mentally checked out of the game from that point forward.

I don't think the officiating had all that much effect on the outcome. Murray going 1-9 from three and the whole front court no-showing sealed our fate. Even if we pulled this one out, we would have had nothing for UNC. It sucks losing to Indiana, but it would have sucked just about the same getting humiliated by the Heels.

-Felt strangely confident yesterday. Not sure why.

-More sad that the season is over than us actually losing, if that makes sense. Wasn't really ready for basketball to end but I knew in the back of my mind it would take an epic run to get through. Our flaws weren't going away.

-Guess it's not a bad year to take road tripping off because of G. Sounds like the crew had fun in Iowa.

-Meh, I'm gong against my typical reaction and staying on gyero and watching the tourney.

Agree, which is why I put our shooting and general pussery at reasons #1 and #2. Don't think we necessarily get abused by UNC. The team that played yesterday does of course, but even with our **** frontcourt, if Murray is 4-9 instead of 1-9, we win the game, and if he's on, we could hang with UNC.

All of this is sort of what we expected and basically fine if 2015 takes care of business. We're still thirsty af for a title that should've been ours and we thought maybe karma owed us one.
