The only call that was incredibly egregious was the Poythress charge in the first half. Killed our momentum right in its tracks and Poythress mentally checked out of the game from that point forward.

I don't think the officiating had all that much effect on the outcome. Murray going 1-9 from three and the whole front court no-showing sealed our fate. Even if we pulled this one out, we would have had nothing for UNC. It sucks losing to Indiana, but it would have sucked just about the same getting humiliated by the Heels.
I agree but that Bryant travel no call was ridiculous and at the worst time.

Monk can shoot.
I won't believe it until he shoots with "KENTUCKY" across his chest.

"Isaiah Briscoe won the 3-Point Contest presented by Eastbay over Maker who hit 8 out of 8 in a semi-round. Briscoe was confident, purposely not finishing the final two racks after taking the scoring lead in the first round with 11 points. In the final, Briscoe bested Maker on the last rack and said only “I’m the best 3-point shooter in the country” when interviewed after the contest."

Just a weird year all the way around. Frontcourt starting Cal's only two busts (Poy & Skal). Murray being red hot for two months to slumping the last 3 games. Bizarre officiating all GD season- 6 charges? Really?

We needed a good draw and to benefit from some upsets and instead got F'ed.

Second-worst season under Calipari and it ended shitily. I really don't have anything good to say.

Rationally, I know Ulis is gone. There are a few things that give me a glimmer of hope: (1) he's projected as a borderline 1st/2nd round pick; (2) he seems to genuinely love playing for Cal; (3) he knows we're reloading with killers next year; and (4) he wants that NC.

But yah, he's gonzo....

Some 3 point shooting contest at a random event isn't the same as those kids knocking down shots in games. Looked like Monk was a 35% 3pt shooter and I couldn't find a stat on Fox. They may not be Murray or Lamb, but they look a lot closer to Knight or Aaron Harrison than Bledsoe or Briscoe.

Kind of ironic. Alex chose to stay when he probably would have been late first round as a frosh. Stuck around for 4 years and will probably go undrafted. Dakari chose to go when he should have stayed and is stuck down in the D-league but had he come back he probably would have been one of the top big men in the nation and probably late lottery to mid-first round pick.

Really like what I'm hearing about the football conditioning program, really think we'll be strong the second half of the season this year.

Big picture - Crean is probably coach for life at IU now. We may have lost the battle, but won the war yesterday.
Yup...the only positive that came out of yesterday was that and that I never have to see Skal play in a UK uni again.

Cheering for the kid, I want him to become a millionaire and rescue his family from poverty, all that. But, pretty much ova watching him play for my cayts..

If Skal realizes that he is a 3-4 year player then I'd love to have him back. He'd contribute next year and be a star the year after IMO.

Skal doesn't have the luxury of being a 3-4 year player, unfortunately.

I'm not a "push guys out" guy, plenty happy having 4 year players like Lee and Poy. But, Cal was in a weird spot with Skal, that guy's family situation probably makes Bledsoe's look like upper middle class. He has to go, everyone has known that from the get-go. Cal tried to do right by him, maybe even at the expense of the team, as UCL pointed out.

Realize all that, but on the off chance that he does come back it seems like you wouldn't welcome him back.

I realize Skal's family situation, but he could very likely never get an NBA contract. I'm not buying that first round projection of his. There's no effing way I'd take him.

So if Ulis had shot 90-100% while the rest of the team **** down their leg we would have won? Get pumped.
[thumb2][poop].

A couple of those wide open three 's he missed would have been nice though. There seemed to be several. Murray going 1 for 9 was not good either, Brady. 3 for 9 would have been better.

Next year will be more like last year where we will have probably about 5 teams who can win it all. A few teams, us included, will be so much better than the rest of the field, I don't see any outsider breaking through.

Ulis was 3-6 from deep yesterday. He played like a superhero. What exactly did you want and expect???

Before you answer that, go F yourself. And go away.

Both Ulis and Murray had a couple each where they weren't quite in good shooting position on some open looks. Keep thinking that if that 3 Ulis took when we were up 44-43 had gone down we might have taken control. Wasn't to be though. Somewhat remarkable it was even close considering Ulis was basically the only one who showed up.

Or if Poy hadn't been called for the charge up five, if Willis doesn't miss the front end of a one and one or play his worst game of the year, if Murray didn't run out of arrows, if Lee rotated at all, if Cal adjusted, if Skal didn't go brick city on a shot he had been hitting. And yes had Ulis went 6/6 from 3 things might have been different. All kinds of **** went wrong yesterday. Ulis didn't play his best game but the few things that went right were largely because of him.

Man what is Marcus Lee was like Zach Auguste? I mean he should be.
Really thought he was going to develop one, I ask for just touching one, low post move and get after it like Dennis Rodman lite this year on boards consistently each game. Nope, basically same guy he has been, inconsistent and zero offensive game. How much of that is on staff and how much on him?

Kind of feel like he will transfer out. Hope he stays but not sure how many minutes he can earn to be real honest.

The lamb gnocchi at lockbox was great. Place definitively has a feel of being in a bigger city. Our little creek town is really on the up imo.
