is briscoe going to come back?

he's one guy who really could benefit from coming back. i think nba teams would rather see him shoot 65% from the ft line & 30% from 3 as a sophomore than take him now, a year younger, with no jumper at all

That lineup would be out of character for a Krzyzewski team. He almost never plays 2 guys at the same time who aren't 3 point threats (though he did early this season out of necessity), especially when there's a third guy out there who's only a "sort-of" threat (the sort-of threat is usually the 4 in K's system). And you are really squeezed for time on the wing with that lineup.

If Allen returns, I suspect that, though we will see the lineup you mention at times, Amile Jefferson will find his PT plummeting.

Yeah, generally K loves three point threats... he said a bunch of years ago that he felt the math simply favored a team that shot a lot of threes.

But in a group like next year... K also loves his vocal, senior defenders. And Jefferson is the definition of that. K just talked this year about how having a vocal BIG is so much more important that a vocal guard, in that the big has a bigger view of the game and can direct the guys in front of him. A fifth year senior who won't demand shots and is also a VERY vocal and dedicated defender, and who is able to give Giles a bit more freedom, I think will take priority over anything else.

Given that Duke will have a three point threat at the 1-3 spots, with the 4 able to pop a few (I am sure Giles will look to add that to his NBA skill set)... well, I don't see K sitting Jefferson.

I hope so. This team next year is going to be awesome...but we've seen in the past, every team needs some experience to help them come along. Give me Willis, Briscoe, Hawkins and Humphries to go along with the young guns and I like my team again.

In fact, I would start:

Fox
Monk
Briscoe
Willis
Adebayo

Briscoe can be our defensive ace, give us another great passer and I'm sure he'll work his tail off this summer on his J.

That may be the perfect DDM team.

Interesting timing on this thread as the last two picks in for Bolden on the crystal ball were for Oklahoma of all places. Including Chad Lykins, who typically seems to be one of the more reliable "experts" on the site. Hope we land him, but Oklahoma would at least be better than Duke if there's anything to this.

OU is definitely better than his going to Duke or Kansas.

completely agnostic on bolden, honestly. i like what i've seen from lee (if he's back) and humphries lately, and the guys coming in

briscoe isn't going to be a good shooter but 42% from the line and 14% from 3 (and probably no better than 20% on 2 pt jumpers)? i don't think he's physically incapable of better than that

LMAO, this post after all you said about Briscoe after the LSU game?
Is he a good enough shooter or not?

if you don't get it by now, you're not going to. especially not now that the context is slightly different

the duke chump can pound sand. unorthodox usage. my prerogative. don't need/want your input on basketball or word choice

FWIW some Duke insider that a lot of guys on their board trust tweeted last week that EITHER Jefferson was going to redshirt and they'd have him as a senior or they would get Bolden, but not both.

that momentum didn't last long for duke. With Jefferson coming back and signing of jack white the blue devils just lost the chance to get bolden. Kentucky bound in the next 3-4 weeks
Prediction or do you have a reliable source? Hopefully not the silent verbal.

Yeah, but message board trusted sources are not very reliable. We've seen that here, and there was a guy at the UNCheat board during the Wiggins recruitment that basically said he was a lock for them. Very trusted source they said.

Not sure if it's the same guy but I post on DBR and it was said by one of our trusted guys. Not some anonymous internet user but someone who uses his real name as his user name and is well known and connected in the Duke basketball community.

Lol agnostic is generally used in spiritual meaning. It basically means that one believes there is something in the afterlife but they don't know what it is. Like they are pondering what it might be but have no clue. Dave Matthews is actually agnostic
