Make no mistake though, there are no 2 teams in the country I want to beat more than UL and IU. That will always be the case.

The only Pat is my life is [smoke] Pat

I'll gladly pay her $375 per year for her services. The other Pat, I'll just save my $120 and buy a USDA Choice steak and baked potato at the krogers instead...with my debit card. :fire:

If I'm feeling crazy I might even make some rice pilaf.

^Exactly. You let Tomlin get the best of you.

There are maybe 3-4 teams that I know that much about and really I don't still only know that much about UK. IU was good my first 2-3 years of basketball and since then other than 2 blips they've been mediocre or worse.

Indiana has been to 1 Elite 8's and 3 Sweet 16's since 2000.
Xavier has been to 2 Elite 8's and 6 Sweet 16's since 2000.
UNLV has 1 Sweet 16 since 2000 and a title since IU's last one.

So tell again me why they're not these teams?

I'm not voting for Hillary or the Socialist, I can promise you that.

People who take this view are going to be really surprised when Donald ends up being more liberal than Hillary (which I think on some issues besides immigration, may actually be the case).

And we have no actual "Socialists" in America...even Bernie. The farthest left we actually go in this country is moderate in most of Europe. But GOP has done a hell of a good job of getting people (Even intelligent ones like you) to believe standard liberalism is somehow radical socialism. Pretty impressive actually.

I would give anything to go to this Trump rally today by the way...the people watching would be top notch. Stupid UK game

I don't know who Anth is talking to, but Tomlin has never gotten the best of ME. That wouldn't even be possible if I were losercatfaninville or catsfagbgky. We're UK, he's IU. That's ballgame, before it even starts...

Lol, get real.

I don't mind Trump being socially liberal, so long as it's not with my wallet.

I like Trump's 25% top tax plan. Bernie and his plan can go get really, really, really pumped. I mean, Bernie refers to himself as a "democratic socialist." I guess he wants a democratic political system but a socialist economy? No thanks.

No chance he beats Hillary anyway, imo.

I actually haven't decided on a candidate yet.

You said in our lifetime. Why are you now stopping at 2000? Even doing that IU is the only one with a FF and title game. They were also ranked #1 for a majority of the season in the past 4 years, a distinction neither of those teams possess.

They've also won the B1G 2 of the last 4 years...or at least a SHARE LOL. HOW MANY B1G TITLES HAS X OR UNLV WON, HUH? TELL ME I WANT TO KNOW.

Nova, Oklahoma, St Joes and Wichita have all been ranked #1 in the past 10 years. Hang a banner for it in your house I guess. I stopped at 2000 b/c it's a round year. There are 15+ better programs over the past 20-25 years than IU. Easily. Irrelevant program, bruh. Sorry that offends you. They did it to themselves with the Colts and late 90 Pacers.

Tomlin is going to the Trump rally, fwiw. [laughing]

He's ate up. He'd root for Trump vs IU, TS.

...Colts/Pacers have nothing to do with it. Hanging onto Knight for too long followed by 3 straight suspect hires have everything to do with it.

The right coach could/would have IU back in it's top 5 spot in no time, top 10 at worst. One of the easiest jobs to succeed in the country if you are merely competent.

Crean is awful, and even HE has them having good teams every other year or so after he got over the initial bare cupboard & sanctions. MIke F Davis made the title game. Sampson was stockpiling talent while cheating.

They haven't broken through, but they easily could have with a good coach...Colts/Pacers have zero impact on their situation, imo.

Bernie has, in the past, given high praise to Fidel Castro and the Sandinista government in Nicaragua. As well as stating bread lines are sign of a healthy economy. I think he is more incoherent than rabid Marxist, but I don't think tacitly advocating for bread lines is "standard liberalism" (Progressivism, not Liberalism).

He doesn't currently advocate for Latin American revolutionary socialism, but his platitudes about Scandinavian socialism aren't the entire picture either. But again, he is more incoherent populist than anything in this election

I think Pacers/Colts absolutely have something to do with it. That was a IU basketball owned state for 50 years. The Knight stuff divided it, then the Pacers and Colts came around, and IU wallowed around for 20 years. That program and fan base is nothing like it used to be. They were easily head to head with us for craziness. Now Colts run the *****.

I'm not offended. They have been disappointing for a long time but I don't think they're irrelevant. I consider them a top 7 program. And yes, I put them above every program you mentioned, respectfully. I think aspiring coaches would feel the same.

I think Marriott was betting big on this settling without ever having to go to trial because they thought Andrews would not want to relive it in the public eye. Boy did they misjudge that one. She called Marriott's bluff and now they're screwed. Did they not realize that this is someone who talks to the public for a living? Pretty damned good chance she's going to be a very good witness. I'm sure she crushed all the prep her attorneys gave her before taking the stand too.

That's silly. Are the Panthers in danger of ruining UNC or Duke?

If IU had a great coach, as a program of that stature should, they wouldn't have skipped a beat. They have one of the best talent bases in the country...the amount of players that left that state over the past 15 years is staggering.

-Mustard: If you truly like your filet medium, you should know that when visiting a subpar steakhouse you ALWAYS order your steak one temp level less than you like, to allow for their amateur line cook's incompetence & subpar grade of beef.

Choice/Select steak dries out very quickly when overcooked...

Ok, I think you're right in the direct cause in botching the hires but they've allowed the fan base to shift focus. I'm talking more of the fan base, Duke is irrelevant there, than the program.

I've been around Indiana and its fans my entire life. IU bball is everything. No one gives a F about the Pacers and the Colts will always be secondary regardless of success. They just haven't been able to transition from Knight, much like UCLA and Wooden. Duke, Syracuse, and UL face the same potential problems once their respective coaches depart. But the passion and enthusiasm for IU is there.

You're an IU apologist. Your opinion is not valid. I have a similar experience only opposite of what you're claiming.

Would never go to Pat's for a steak on my dime

It was where my parents chose the dinner and I am sure it was a hefty price so didn't really feel like suggesting other places.

I did feel bad for them ( parents) when multiple people in our 20+ party had to send their initial steaks back.

Have to agree with Vern on the fans deal. NFL has nothing to do with college basketball...the IU fans are as there as they've ever been, they're just tired.

No different than UK late Tubby or BCG, except they've been dealing with it for 25 years instead of 2-3.

Our fans are better, but IU despite their irrelevance for 2 decades, still has a top 5 fanbase, easy.

-Btw, Iow'er ROLLS tonight.

A military bro is in town with some guys from his unit, tried to point out some spots for them to go. They jumped in an Uber and ended up at Cowboys. Some guy was getting his head kicked in by the bouncer as they walked in. [laughing]

Cowboy's was not on my list.

For being an IU apologist, I seem to be one of the few around here who isn't scared to play them in the tourney this year.

-I don't get it with Pat's. You want to love it for it's local authentic old time steakhouse feel. Then you eat there. If you choose that over Del Friscos you're crazy. Pretty simple, really.
