Yup. Every game UK has multiple players with foul issues and it is getting old. Cal should use this as a pulpit to bring the issue to light. He can afford the fine.
How awesome would it be for Cal to come to a post-game presser and just crush SEC officiating practices during his tenure at UK?

It'll never happen because it would only make it worse for us, but damn would it be cool to hear.

It sure would be nice if our conference, or college basketball in general, would take officiating seriously. As in, you know, actually hiring professional officials instead of it being a good ol' boy system of independent contractors who have other day jobs.

And, like clockwork, another foul call from across the floor. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the discussion after Briscoe bounced the ball following Murray's dunk.

Can't imagine there are a lot of young, bright people waiting to jump into the profession.

Looks like my worry about the outcome was overblown -- unless we are actually about 50 points better than USC.

Why not? Given how much money the league and the NCAA make off of college basketball, they should be very well compensated.

Oh, wait. That would make sense, so it's obviously not going to happen. My bad.

Doug Sirmons lives right down the road from me apparently. Some guy posted his address on Twitter. Has two houses down here. Any requests?

I don't know what you people are talking about. Coach Cal didn't get kicked out of this game. He just changed his name to Tyler Ulis. If there is a better floor general than Ulis he might be the GOAT. This kid is amazing out there. He knows every players job on the court. Amazing.

To bad the things he's doing out there get less hype than what Hield or Simmons are doing. Not saying he should be POY, but he should be getting more regard than he is.

Sirmons missed or refused to call several violations late in the game, one of the most glaring was when a South Carolina player stepped out of bounds clearly with Sirmons 5 feet from him late in the game on the baseline. He's too much of a sissy to be a good ref.

I think Cal, like all of us, has gotten sick of the weak foul. All we keep getting and that was his chance to take a stand about it.

I have been a vocal opponent of all the ref posts here over the years when blaming calls for a loss. Typically, there are some good call and bad ones in a game. You can visit other program's boards and you may see similar fans complaining as all fans seems to forget the ones to their favor but remember every call against their team.

But, this South Carolina game no matter that Kentucky blew them out, I have never seen so many one-sided bad calls against the visiting team. Plus, it wasn't just bad calls but how the home team could bully their way to the basket without calls but when Kentucky did even a slight push there was the whistle. I don't blame Cal for his outburst early as that call was at first correct against South Carolina but then it was called the other way.

So, I have to admit when I am wrong. A close game where we weren't hitting 3's could have been a robbery.

But over all the country this is a problem, officials are inconsistent, emotional calling( which is why most home games are nightmares for the visitors), and ego maniacs. I have a brother in law and nephew who officiate and they tell me all the time that there is always ONE guy who thinks he's God and wants to make all the calls. In college it's seems like every game has one or two of these type officials.

I would suggest something involving a paperbag, some dog excrement and a match....

His officiating skills have the same qualities of what would end up on the bottom of his shoe.

Some officials don't have the personality for the job , Sirmons is one of those refs . He's a bad official that is far too sensitive , the games image is harmed by refs like him .
The big problem is when the refs low a call, they get mad at the coaches for showing them up and just can't admit they made a mistake. So if you've got a bad ref you get screw twice, once on the call and then on the T

Actually the refs during the UT were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse. I stand by my statement that the refs during the game at UT were on the fix or something as I watched it 3 times and I counted 11 phantom fouls called and a bunch of other nonsense. Today the refs were awful but only as bad as they were during the KU game. Either way UK should be on a 8 game winning streak but I think it has taught them they just can't be good enough to win they have to be amazing and blow people out.

We've really been hosed by refs this year. I can think of a couple of games every year where it seems pretty blatant, Arkansas and UNC on the road a cpl of years ago, but this year it's every single road game, and we're not getting the same whistle at home.

I was in the same boat as you were in but I fell out of that boat weeks ago. I used to attack people on here for blaming refs.
We have been getting hosed on the road all season. It got ten times worse when conference play started.
We lose this game by 10 a month ago. This team overcame it.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the NCAAT when the refs can't be persuaded by home crowds.

Now you know why the SEC ranks number one in conference with the toughest at home games. Its not that the teams are tough. It is that the officials love to hear the home crowds cheer for them. And remember, it only took 47 fouls for Kansas to beat us at their place, and the home crowd loved it. Go Cats!!

I don't usually agree with your posts but I agree with this one.
