Not an expert but I can give you how I feel about the situation:
Diversity: I strongly believe in diversity of thought, opinion, race and background as a means to success. It creates better outcomes in almost every context.
Immigrants: I want more immigrants to come to the states, and I think it's beneficial for us as a country to have immigrants come.
Undocumented/illegal Immigrants: Every single undocumented immigrant I have met has benefitted me, from services, to jobs, to interactions. They have all been positive.
No fear of other: I don't have any fear mongering about what illegal immigrants are "coming here to do." It's been overblown that they are just a suck on the economy, and they only bring drugs/guns over when they come.
Unfortunately most of the anti-immigrants/anti-illegal immigrant rhetoric (since Trump started campaigning in 2015) seems xenophobic and racist. I know those are trigger words for MAGA folks and I'll sound like a dumb lib bot, but that's simply what it comes down to.
I don't think illegal immigration is a big deal at all.
