He’s not the head coach of the HWC. He’s the head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Sorensen and Dennis are there as well as Beatty as they are the representatives of the HWC which is who Spencer wrestles for.

I don’t know if I really care that much whether he is there or not. But let’s not be ridiculous… He isn’t the head coach of the club, but he runs the club. It’s his.

Great job all around, any way. Thrilled to see Lee win gold.

What an absolute warrior! Couldn't be more happy for Spencer. Hate that Alger had to steal the spotlight from SL. Royce loves himself some Royce. Let Spencer shine in the spotlight by himself!
If Spencer didn't like him then he wouldn't even be there or in that position.
Maybe I'm giving Royce too much credit, but I think he was trying to keep the moment light. He knew Spencer was emotion dumping and was attempting to keep him mentally in a good place.

And Royce saying, "you won it for both of us," isn't taking the spotlight. Royce got a world silver and it's always been a failure to him, just like Terry and the Olympics. It's his way of saying he can move on, that's how impactful it was for Royce. In that light I think it's a helluva compliment.

Spencer has drawn the short straw so ******* many times in his career and he just keeps getting it done. His mental toughness might be better than his wrestling, and that is remarkable honestly! Who else in the world could overcome what he has to accomplish what he has? I'm estatic for him and pissed about how unlucky he is at the same time. Thanks for being a Hawk and a World Champ as well. ACLs are for mortals, not Spencer Lee

Unbelievable. What a win, what a journey.
I'll admit after his last performance at worlds I thought his window was closed.
What does he do, he goes and WINS WORLDS on a 4th torn ACL. Being in deep trouble in the semis and fighting for a pin when his opponent got greedy. Just flat out never giving up.
Congratulations Spencer, no one has ever deserved a win like this more than you do!

Anyone know if that is the best performance by a team historically? Has anyone else won both men’s and women’s?

How could have a torn ACL if you don’t have any ACLS left?
How can you be such a moran? ACL replacements take either a cadaver part or a patella tendon , etc. to replace the ACL. At that point, those are subject to Stress. How can you be so incompetent?

He's probably not in the medical field or knows anyone who's had it done 🤷

Lots of raw emotion and, btw for all of us(me included) looking to get rid of Tom, Spencer went out of his way to show his love for the staff and how hes always worried that because of his own frailities its going to be taken out on Iowa and the staff.

Beautiful and raw emotion from our boy.
Spencer should rest assured nothing he's ever done or not done should be viewed negatively towards the coaches or program. Quite the opposite, he's been THE shining light of the program for the past decade.
