With all the talk of the ineptness of our backup QB's, I'd like to hear some of y'all's opinions on who y'all think is the worst QB to ever start a game for MSU. There are plenty of candidates, and I know Michael Henig will be a favorite, but guys like Kyle York, Tray Rutland, Josh Riddell, Chris Parson, and from the way back machine Mike Davis all garner consideration. What says the Sixpackers?

Yall wish you could be Henig... man stepped out there and beat Alabama in Bryant Denny. ... and he is rich.
Few days ago, the Polish Rifle was mentioned....I temporarily can't recall his name...
FIRST on this list!
He was a JC All American.

Here are our all time QB's and stats.
Polish Rifle may have started the bama game in 1996.
I was in a bar in Keystone CO watching the game occasionally but I was too busy chasing a snow bunny to really give a RAT’s ***
I was just looking at that. I don’t know if Phil Thomas started any but his were pretty bad. Lots of nonQBs below him. Dude at the very bottom only has 5 attempts but 1 completion of -6 yards and 1 interception. That’s pretty rough
Parrington was backup to John Bond
Was from somewhere in south Louisiana
I'll go with
Hal Chelander.
If I have to pick, but we brought in a JC All American, that was atrocious.

We had our backup WR Darrin Clark playing QB in '94 with Taite out.
Yep. He was also one of the first three two sport players(baseball) along with Harold Myles and J.O Doss
The right answer. I’d also mention Mike Wright, Damien Williams, Kyle York, Wesley Carroll, and Tommy Stevens.
Too many names….
It's Tim Parenton. He was not the worst QB to ever step on the field, by far. Pretty good baseball player for Polkie too in the early 80's.
Tony is still in the top 10 in all time passing yards and he only started for 2 years.
After 40 plus years you sometimes forget s#|+ such as spelling of names
Mike Davis would get my vote from that group.........I played against him in HS and couldn't believe a SEC team signed him.......Those were just some ****** teams we had under Rocky......Program was in shambles...........
Interesting. I saw Rodney Hudson is the lowest ranked QB in school history. It seems like I remember him getting into some legal trouble at some point so I do some digging - I found this article from the Seattle Times about that Alabama game someone was talking about...https://archive.seattletimes.com/ar...an-to-start-at-qb-against-12th-ranked-alabama
ETA this dynamite quote from Bruce Arians - "He can't call but five plays," offensive coordinator Bruce Arians told the Clarion (Miss.) Ledger earlier this week. "We might try to get to double figures, but I doubt it."
Tray Rutland. Had 1 career start vs Auburn in 06
12-25 for 82 yards for 3.3 yards per attempt. 0 TDs and 1 pick. Lost 34 to 0
This was the year we moved Omarr to receiver and Henig got hurt in week 1 vs South Carolina. After Rutland's performance we moved Omarr back to QB until Henig got healthy again

More like Boobie Dixon...we were riding him that game.
Money Mike had like a 30% completion rate that game!
Matt Wyatt’s 1997 season was absolutely terrible. 6 TD’s and 15 INT’s. He threw 4 of them in the Memphis game. He redeemed himself in 99, but that 97 season was atrocious.
I remember Henig throwing 5 or 6 interceptions in a single HALF of football versus LSU.
If Lee was six foot one we beat LSU. And not giving it to Boobie on the goal line. I still have nightmares.
