I know nothing but assume Duff is pulling out to stay healthy for the draft. I am surprised he didn’t do this sooner. Tough stretch of games coming up.
If anything like that were to happen and it gets well known this early in a season- it does not help his draft stock at all. I doubt it would be the case

Another reason I don’t think Duff will be sitting out future games if he is healthy, I would assume there is some sort of contractual stipulation in his NIL deal that requires him to play in the regular season games to receive the total compensation. I can’t imagine a player getting $2 M in compensation and then sitting out many games to protect his draft status if he is reasonably healthy.

Those that say it doesn't matter??? You all realize that 40 times and bench presses mean zero in comparison to the team interviews unless you are just head and shoulders above everyone else in just pure talent.

Duff is getting paid- the season sucks- we have no one competent. So- you are the GM of a team like the Jet's- is this player just going to give up the rest of the season to protect his body for next year?

This is football- they don't even want a guy that doesn't play through the whistle.

His interview at the combine "KJ - what happened after the NWU game?" his response- "You know coach, we had no chance of winning the rest of the season and I am either going to cash in big time next year through the portal or the NFL, I just didn't think it was wise for me to go out there each week with "that" team"

Depends on the negotiation. Supposedly he had higher dollar offers so this could could been a negotiation clause to agree to taking less money.
Let’s be honest. It makes zero sense for Duff to play in this game.

Maybe he’s willing to forgo some comp now to stay healthily for more comp later.

If that’s true he should lose his schollie, NIL, school housing and access to facilities

this notion of a player opting out is total BS. They are essentially under contract as paid professionals. Do your job as we all have to do

Only justification for him opting out is if RU agreed in his “contract” that he can . But I doubt RU did that

People who attend games should vote with their lack of stadium attendance. Tailgate and party and send an empty stadium message so Ms Zinn hears you loud and clear. I mean we already get out watched by women’s VB…too bad the game can’t be at 9 am or 11 pm.

It might be wise to wait to confirm it's true before teeing off on him.

It was mentioned by Rick Pizzo on the B1G Network today that according to his sources, Duff is definitely out for the Michigan game.

Getting injured and bad stats don’t look good either. Everyone on the NFL pregame shows says he’s a 1st rounder. Why risk it? The competitor in me says play but this is a different era.

Eventually the fools donating to college NIL will learn

Or maybe they won't

That is certainly possible. He seems like a very competitive guy, we’ll see what happens.
Definitely competitive but these guys are pros now. They have agents, managers, and people looking out for their long term career. Missing a game isn't going to change his draft status, but against Michigan with a D3 QB, it may just save his career.

Why not? He didn't sign anything that said he would play all games. I doubt it anyway. It's the wild west they can do whatever the **** they please.

Keep that NIL gravy train rolling!
