Just read an excerpt from Campbell’s press conference where he was asked how he copes with the stress of a season like this and he said that’s one of the benefits of being a head coach for 15 years as he had to do a rebuild at Toledo and had to rebuild the program 3 times at ISU. My question is since he was the head coach the entire time shouldn’t the first rebuild have made the next two unnecessary during his tenure at ISU?
I think Campbell is probably a better coach than he is a public speaker. I've read some things in that regard from some ISU fans. I think far too many fans have lynched coaches for things they have said in moments of stress and perhaps should hold themselves to the same standard in their private and professional lives.
I disagree with his crutch leaning on rebuild. This is one of the most experienced teams in college football. Both in terms of snaps taken and starts. The QB has been widely touted as the "winningest QB" in college football and a 4 year starter in this system.
There is one very simple proof that Campbell and his staff never approached this season as a "rebuild."
He brought Becht and cut loose Grunk
If he deemed this a rebuild in January and he brought in Becht, then he's worse than I thought.
