Look it up yourself. This site makes it easy. You can compare their transfer class to ours.

I never saiid they didn't get a better class. That doesn't mean they spent more than what is being reported OR that we spent less than reported. You just CHOOSE to not believe it because it doesn't fit your narrative (see: you make **** up/lie/spin to "fit the narrative").

Not valid to pick a midpoint because there’s a significant qualitative difference between the classes. They have a bunch of P4 transfers. Their transfer class is ranked 35th while ours is 53rd. Thats nearly 20 Spots. They paid a lot more for their quarterback.
You are embarrassing yourself. NW And we spent about the same and they have blown us away so far this season. Period.

Stop being a moron. They have transfers from MSU, Michigan, Alabama, and Ohio State. We have transfers from Drake, Eastern Michigan, and the Citadel. Our best transfers are from BC and Temple, whom we picked up just prior to season start. They absolutely paid significantly more.

it’s a minor miracle that we even have a competitive team.
So it's a minor miracle that we even have a competitive team, yet YOU said that this team of low level transfers was not only going to beat the (at the time) undefeated National Champions, but win ALL of their remaining games. Why would RU have a chance against Northwestern when YOU said that they have better facilities and richer alumni, which YOU have said is the sole determinant of success?

so thats on the coach for wasting his NIL budget. The amount of times you contradict yourself in the same threads is hysterical. Typical socialist

I am close with one person in the AD and one person who is a fairly significant booster. NU absolutely positively does NOT have a lot more NIL than Rutgers. Don't know specifics on RU side but saying that based on links shared to date.

The reality is you still need to make good decisions with your money. RU hasn't done that. The other reality is that there's a market now. Players are getting similar offers from different schools and get to choose. It's not like every player is getting 10x what we offered (sans big boys).

But hopefully, things will break RU's way and we keep it competitive. If MSU can stay close with these guys, why can't we?
I think the ship has sailed on ‘keeping it close’ being any type of victory.

Maybe if you beat Illinois a couple seasons ago, beat PSU last year, beat USC this year and/or stole 1 somewhere else, you’ve earned enough rope that keeping a game close against a good team is good enough.

Greg might be able to stay close… Instead of icing the kicker, this year’s specialty is the Schiano 4th and 1. RU up 5 with 30 seconds to go. Our ball on 4th down from their 45. Greg goes for it with the tush push. Fails again like clock work. Next play - NW TD pass to the end zone! Ball game.
Honestly, this is my biggest concern. I suspect this will be another season where we look back and we see 3-4 winnable games against mid level to good teams all slip away. This program just can’t beat good teams.

Who is going to cover KJ Duff? Who is going to cover Dyzier Carter? Who is going to cover Clay Thevinin out of the backfield? Maryland spent all their attention on Duff, that Carter quietly gained 88 receiving yards on them, and Thevinin got 109 rushing yards and 24 yards receiving with a TD. We get proper blocking, and we could score 50. We have the horses. Now Lonergan just has to continue to get better, and avoid turnovers.
Oh, good! I’m glad that the only thing that has to happen for us to score 50 points is for our quarterback to get better. Now I feel a lot better. I was worried that something really difficult had to happen.

Never mind the ‘no risk playbook’ and Schiano just spent half of a press conference commending Northwestern’s coaching for being able to be ‘multiple’ and execute, implying that he doesn’t trust his own coaching to do the same.

No they didn’t. And the transfer class reflects Schiano’s inability to assess and recruit talent even though he hasn’t same amount of money as NW

No they didn’t. Stop lying. They have P4 talent transfer there because their coach got them. We get non p4 talent because of our coach.

And/or the distraction of taking more than 60 days to hire a defensive coordinator impacted his bandwidth as he suggested just a couple of weeks ago. Of course when many of us pointed out to Al back when that happened that it likely would have an impact, he disagreed.

That is a narrow way to do the analysis.

I BET that Northwestern did not spend nearly as much to retain players as Rutgers paid to Duff, Raymond and Asamoah. You need to add up retained players + portal to get the total roster cost.

Whose fault is it that we got crushed again in the Transfer Portal ? Greggy boy horribly evaluates transfer portal talent and even worse wasting NIL dollars.

Let me try to explain this to you. They spent well over a billion dollars on facilities. This allows them to offer a better experience to recruits. This allows them to recruit better players for their NIL dollars that they have, which exceed ours. Their transfer class includes recruits from Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan. Our transfer class includes recruits from Drake, Eastern Michigan, and Citadel. How the hell are you not able to tell the difference?

Despite this, we still have an opportunity to beat them, Saturday, due to our high school recruiting, which netted us Korey Duff, who is better than anyone on their roster, Clay Thevinin, and Dyzier Carter. Antwan Raymond is another difference maker for us, but he’s banged up.

They didn’t get P4 guys and we didn’t simply because they built a fence but tiny stadium and other facilities.

there are teams with even better facilities that NW is outperforming.

And your argument falls apart when RU already has 2losses to teams with less money and worse facilities than us

so by your logic, there is a straight line between money/facilities and wins so shouldn’t we at least be 4-2?

No, there are no teams with better facilities than Northwestern. These are the best facilities money can buy. They spared no expense.

Next, we lost to UMass and BC because our QB had bad games. Had we paid $2M for a QB, like UVA did, we’d be 4-2, rather than 2-4.

Thankfully, our qb is playing a lot better than he did the first game. But it took a lot for him to. Get to this point.

money and facilities get you an opportunity. But it’s up to the players to win the game. This is why Michigan almost loses to Western Michigan, despite having every advantage.

It’s called coachspeak for a reason, though Northwestern has a good team.

Did you watch the game Saturday? We were multiple and executed as well. The quarterback had a great game last Saturday and he has a chance to replicate his performance against Nortwestern. 291 passing yards with 3 TDs to go along with an interception. I’m starting to wonder whether our QB is starting a Mike Teel 2008 performance stretch. This is exactly what we need.

We were multiple this week? When? Show me. Not sure you know what Schiano means by Kelly going multiple.

That's been the case from before 2024 through this season so far. RU has left a lot of wins on the table. They should have been at least 9-3 in 2024 and 8-4 in 2025. 2 of the losses this season were disgraceful. None of the losses in winnable games had anything to do with facilities and NIL. They had everything to do with coaching.

Close. Greg is not talking about personnel. He’s talking about Kelly using “multiple” systems. We don’t run “multiple” systems. Making it difficult to prepare. But thanks for at least answering.

This is what low lifes like @RU Cheese don't understand. NW spent a billion on facilities. They have the most expensive stadium and field house in the country. Then he tries to compare if a Rutgers offer is the same as NW offer.
What a zilch. Bottom one on this board. And rumor is he is one of the few people that ozempic doesn't work on. Get lost cheese. Ya stink.
