He was replaced by Chin, who did a great job. Team had 151 yards rushing and only gave up 1 sack, and OL kept the QB clean. OL now has 5 Seniors, which should board well for the rest of the year.To do that, you have to actually block people. Vigna, a vital piece of YOUR run-the-table turnaround, spent his limited time in the Maryland game getting run over by their edge rushers.
He’s not that mobile. He’s averaging roughly 1.6 yards per carry.RU is facing a young, mobile quarterback with a strong arm. That has never been a problem for GS.![]()
Because Schiano
Who is going to cover KJ Duff? Who is going to cover Dyzier Carter? Who is going to cover Clay Thevinin out of the backfield? Maryland spent all their attention on Duff, that Carter quietly gained 88 receiving yards on them, and Thevinin got 109 rushing yards and 24 yards receiving with a TD. We get proper blocking, and we could score 50. We have the horses. Now Lonergan just has to continue to get better, and avoid turnovers.NW is giving up 17 PPG - as YOU point out and we’re just gonna waltz in there and score 42? At their place??!!

QB isn’t much of a runner. 60 carries for 90 yards, a 1.6 ypc average.Chip is literally chomping at the bit watching us on film. He won't make the same mistake that MD did by using their qb's legs more
Not true. They are likely spending more. Plus they are getting more value for their spend because they just added $1B+ in facilities. They likely spent more than $1M on their QB whoever spent a lot less.So NW with a relatively similar roster value as ours is knocking it out if the park and we aren’t.
and so is Iowa, Boise State, Houston- all programs with similar roster spend as RU or less
hmmmm

NW has an excellent D. Lonergan has to have time to get the passes off.Indiana was able to run and pass at will.

One of Rutgesal's 10 accounts fails to recall last time Greg faced a Chip Kelly offense, in 2004, when Chip was the OC of a formidable New Hampshire team:
451 total yards, 385 yards of passing, losing 35-24.

They don’t get many sacks. 9 in 6 games.NW has an excellent D. Lonergan has to have time to get the passes off.
Aiden Chiles has 90 yards on 60 carries for a 1.6 ypc average. He runs some, but doesn’t have a lot of productivity doing it.And Santos, the NH QB, was precisely the type of mobile QBs that gives Schiano's defenses problems.
Looked up Santos. Currently HC at Penn. 0-2 in Ivy games this year, barely beat Howard. And Santos, the NH QB, was precisely the type of mobile QBs that gives Schiano's defenses problems.
I was surprised that the Maryland OC didn't have his QB run more.Chip is literally chomping at the bit watching us on film. He won't make the same mistake that MD did by using their qb's legs more
Pick mid point and they are 1.5m total more. Big deal. They are doing much better aren’t they for their investment. Now if we win Saturday I’ll fell a lot betterNot true. A+ coaching staff vs D coaching staff. Major mismatch IMHO.The only better ranked Offense besides Rutgers that NW has played so far this year has been Indiana. This game will be closer than most think IMHO.
50???? Put the crack pipe down, Al.Indiana was able to run and pass at will.

Granted it was Maryland, but thought Rutgers DL was more violent than Maryland's OL. In seriousness, did not see that their QB had many opportunities to run.I was surprised that the Maryland OC didn't have his QB run more.
STOP telling other people that they’re wrong while you make assumptions that go clearly against the facts just to fit your narrative. Not true. They are likely spending more.
Yea pointed that out to one of the many Al-iases in multiple threads. Including the one where he posted the numbers and claimed they were gospel. Only to retrace that when he wanted to change the narrative with Iowa Northwestern and many of the other teams spending less with better returns.Pick mid point and they are 1.5m total more. Big deal. They are doing much better aren’t they for their investment. Now if we win Saturday I’ll fell a lot better
The light bulb went on for the defensive coaches, for one game anyway.Granted it was Maryland, but thought Rutgers DL was more violent than Maryland's OL. In seriousness, did not see that their QB had many opportunities to run.
Not a fair grade for Rutgers O coaching staff- Kirk, Shaw and Brock are all solid coaches.A+ coaching staff vs D coaching staff. Major mismatch IMHO.
We can only hope they are growing, learning and getting better each game. . . . .The light bulb went on for the defensive coaches, for one game anyway.
We definitely DO NOT play with "violence;" execution on D sucks; we'll see about the "ball" as the O starts playing much tougher D's down the stretch. We can only hope they are growing, learning and getting better each game. . . . .
Watched the Knight Flicks video for Maryland game- posted in that game thread- there was a banner on one side of the Rutgers meeting room that says:
BALL
EXECUTE
VIOLENCE
No joke.
Violence is the buzzword in a lot of programs. One OC, who's name escapes me, has a philosophy he calls Reliable Violent Offense. We can only hope they are growing, learning and getting better each game. . . . .

That's Wisconsin's OC, Jeff Grimes. We have field level seats for the game at Camp Randall. Hope it is not too bloody.Violence is the buzzword in a lot of programs. One OC, who's name escapes me, has a philosophy he calls Reliable Violent Offense.
That’s our Greg. Now the worst HC in P4 CFB.Greg might be able to stay close… Instead of icing the kicker, this year’s specialty is the Schiano 4th and 1. RU up 5 with 30 seconds to go. Our ball on 4th down from their 45. Greg goes for it with the tush push. Fails again like clock work. Next play - NW TD pass to the end zone! Ball game.
The "D" is based on a B- for the O staff and a sub-F for the D staff. Not a fair grade for Rutgers O coaching staff- Kirk, Shaw and Brock are all solid coaches.
Disagree on B- for O Staff.The "D" is based on a B- for the O staff and a sub-F for the D staff.
Not valid to pick a midpoint because there’s a significant qualitative difference between the classes. They have a bunch of P4 transfers. Their transfer class is ranked 35th while ours is 53rd. Thats nearly 20 Spots. They paid a lot more for their quarterback.Pick mid point and they are 1.5m total more. Big deal. They are doing much better aren’t they for their investment. Now if we win Saturday I’ll fell a lot better
Do you want to place a bet that we don't even cover the spread? Put your money where your big mouth isIndiana was able to run and pass at will.

2 of these D's are as bad as ours.Disagree on B- for O Staff.
In 3 B1G games, Rutgers has put up 35 (USC), 15 (Indiana) and 37 (Maryland).
Keep SPINNING AL, KEEP SPINNING!!! Just because they had a better class DOES NOT mean they spent more than us or what is being reported. Not valid to pick a midpoint because there’s a significant qualitative difference between the classes. Goto kalshi or draft kings. They’ll be happy to indulge you.Do you want to place a bet that we don't even cover the spread? Put your money where your big mouth is
So you're too much of a ***** to back up your own ********? Com'on Al be better than that buddy!!!Goto kalshi or draft kings. They’ll be happy to indulge you.
Stop being a moron. They have transfers from MSU, Michigan, Alabama, and Ohio State. We have transfers from Drake, Eastern Michigan, and the Citadel. Our best transfers are from BC and Temple, whom we picked up just prior to season start. They absolutely paid significantly more.Keep SPINNING AL, KEEP SPINNING!!! Just because they had a better class DOES NOT mean they spent more than us or what is being reported.
STOP LYING IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE EVERYTHING FIT YOU'RE RIDICULOUS NARRATIVES!
KEEP MAKING **** UP AL.Stop being a moron. They have transfers from MSU, Michigan, Alabama, and Ohio State. We have transfers from Drake, Eastern Michigan, and the Citadel. it’s a minor miracle that we even have a competitive team.
