I don’t even want to hear about that sh—, this is Wills dream job, grew up a fan, family went to UK. He has more job security at Kentucky than he would have anywhere. The money will always be here if that were a thing, but it’s not. It’s not all about money for some people, but I don’t think it is for him. Will wants to build this program and the administration is supporting him.Tuck Fexas!

Stein will NOT leave for another college job. He can be the football king here and get all the resources he wants!
Now...If and when the nfl comes calling one day, then there could be some concern.

Other than that, not worried about any other school.
I agree though could ultimately create a scenario to where UK has to dramatically increase his pay, last time this happed, didn’t work out well…

Never say never but I have a hard time believing any football blue blood swoops in to steal a first year head coach, 7 games into his head coaching career. Maybe later, but not yet. At least, not with some crazy money/offer.
I love what we've seen so far but frankly, he isn't a proven coach here yet...much less Texas.

He’s already proven he can win big at UK. Nothing will hold him back including money. He won’t necessarily have Ohio St money but his NIL budget will grow and he will be working with a top 15-20, at least, NIL soon.

Also…UK has already shown they will pay a lot of money to a football coach who was mediocre. They will pay even more to one who is great

Texas had an NIL budget of $41M for football alone. Kentuckys football and basketball COMBINED total was $40M. Stein makes $5.5M per year. Sark makes $10.8M per. Kroger holds 61,000. DK Royal holds 100K plus. Plus recruiting base in Texas. I want and hope that Stein stays, but to say that its a given that he says no because he is from here is nonsense IMO

Always showing your undying loyalty to Pope, but then you say garbage like this.

Garbage? Point out one thing I said in there that isn't a fact. Wanting Stein to stay is one thing, burying your head in the sand and pretending twice the paycheck, twice the NIL budget, nearly twice the stadium capacity, better football facilities by a mile and a better recruiting base would not be enticing for anyone make your logic that of a six year old. Its the equivalent of saying someone coaching basketball in their home state would never leave if they were offered Kentuckys basketball job. Grow up

Stein bleeds blue. So blue that I think he'd walk away from coaching before he went somewhere else.

What?

On the Will Stein note, I expect Stein to be Texas's #1 target as well. The school has put out feelers to Lanning, Cristobal, Chesney and Stein. Stein so far is the only one to display real interest in the job. Things could move quickly in Austin."

I do not see it a real possibility. Why leave a place (home) paying very well. I he stays competitive he can stay forever. Even 7-5 gets a contract renewal.

in Texas, you are either playing for the playoffs or looking for a new job..

Yahoo should be embarrassed.
Well the “reporters” these days probably use AI to search for stories and they don’t fact check. They are activists first and foremost who got a now worthless degree that isn’t taught the way it should be anymore I’m sure. Just like all these stories with unnamed sources. They run with them and I bet they couldn’t corroborate 90% of them if challenged.

He's doing great but, "proven he can win big" might be a tad much.

Karma is funny. These same SEC schools said Kentucky was never the brand in basketball, Calipari was, so we shouldn't've expected to get another elite coach after him, because our history and tradition is irrelevant in the NIL era. Alabama basketball fans said we'll never get Nate Oats because he'd rather coach at Alabama, for example. Now, these same schools are jealous of our football success and want to leverage their history and tradition over our supposed lack thereof, in order to steal our coach.... (Yes, I'm aware this one in particular is just a fake rumor, but the rumor mill is gearing up because it's that time of year when failing coaches are shown the door.)

gang, I get it, as UK football fans, anytime something is going good, we're all holding our breath waiting for the inevitable debacle to happen. Just enjoy the ride the best you can....Stein is going to be in demand, and, if his name is tied to NFL openings and elite schools, that means we're having great years on the gridiron. He seems to love it here and this AD and administration seem that they're dead set on giving him what he needs to succeed. It appears, on the surface at least, that we're more serious about being good at football than we ever were before. Pair that with the fact that Stein is here now, and it's probably the most optimistic I've ever been about football.
