Let’s see if Campbell can recruit.
fire KraftFirst priority, let's see if Campbell can make the very best of the 5 game season left......
fire Kraft
Fact is that Campbell had to fill 94 roster spots. 50 kids transferred out....all 29 commitments on the incoming class decommissioned and 15 kid graduate or moved onto the NFL. By contrast, Chesney had to fill 45 roster spots. So Campbell did indeed inherit a mess.
Actually it was 30 players participated in senior day in 2025. Depending upon the source 46 or 47 transferred out. And nearly the entire recruiting class was lost with replacement by a few ISU recruits, who were not of the same quality. CMC was left with practically nothing and had to try and rebuild at the last minute with MAC level players.Fact is that Campbell had to fill 94 roster spots. 50 kids transferred out....all 29 commitments on the incoming class decommissioned and 15 kid graduate or moved onto the NFL. By contrast, Chesney had to fill 45 roster spots. So Campbell did indeed inherit a mess.
Nor do I, but you have to consider any author's biased perspective. All articles should be considered as crap until you've researched the author's bio.I don’t really think the supporting evidence that is provided in the article (Campbell’s quoted remarks) really support the thesis of the article very well.![]()

Nor do I, but you have to consider the author's biased perspective. I never seriously consider any article until I've read I researched the author.

Lots of truth in the article. All the critics are busy this morning in photo shoots for GQ?
We'll it's a social media site focused on getting clicks so factual information isn't really their focus.I don’t really think the supporting evidence that is provided in the article (Campbell’s quoted remarks) really support the thesis of the article very well.![]()
He’s especially proud of the three block high Lego tower he spent the offseason building.Nor do I, but you have to consider any author's biased perspective. All articles should be considered as crap until you've researched the author's bio.

The Wisconsin and Michigan games were very much winnable, and the USC not totally out of reach.“Campbell is the one, whether through his flawed evaluations, the obstacles that Kraft’s missteps presented him, or any combination of the numerous factors that determine the outcome of a college football season, who is dragging Penn State to the bottom. He didn’t find it there and asked to pull it out, but it sounds like that’s what he wants the fanbase to believe.”
But Campbell did inherit a mess. He was hired late and many kids in the program or committed jumped ship. Of course, Campbell was going to bring his assistants and players from iowa state. He knew them and had little time to get others, especially players in numbers. He ended up with a lackluster roster, a mix of iowa state players, Franklin holdovers, and a few from the portal. It was a last-minute hodgepodge. Hardly ideal.
I’m sure Campbell knows that the iowa state players he has now aren’t going to cut it at PSU and in the b1g. He just had little time to do much else.
Let’s see if Campbell can recruit.
Actually, it was around 61 spots - but the gist remains that it was a **** ton of new faces.Fact is that Campbell had to fill 94 roster spots. 50 kids transferred out....all 29 commitments on the incoming class decommissioned and 15 kid graduate or moved onto the NFL. By contrast, Chesney had to fill 45 roster spots. So Campbell did indeed inherit a mess.
Nearly every "article" cited by fans as evidence of something - good or bad, is now written by someone who has no more knowledge than my cat (who watches the occasional game, but is far from an expertI didn’t think this was a very good article and all I had to do is see the picture of the guy who wrote it and I could see why. Looks like he works from his parents basement on a DOS based PC.

When all is said and done,MC will take PSU football back to the 9-3, 10-2 range and not too much farther. just where jimmy frank had us. 3 to 4 years of rebuild do to the AD. " I WILL SHOW YOU WHO IS THE BOSS!!!!The Wisconsin and Michigan games were very much winnable, and the USC not totally out of reach.
Some of the negatives that were out of Campbell's control or not even aware of worked against him or tipped the balance towards the negative result.
I have no issue with him claiming to be building a foundation, although to the fan base that foundation may be seem to b returning to some of the things the program had not long ago.
I like his emphasis on understanding how players and recruits handle adversity...it may be part of why he is choosing to stick with Rocco at QB.
In all three of those losses, Wisconsin, Michigan, and USC, a little better reaction to adversity could have been the difference, and a record with one or even two losses removes a lot of the discussion and other negative side effects.
I sure do miss a certain old coach. When all is said and done,MC will take PSU football back to the 9-3, 10-2 range and not too much farther. just where jimmy frank had us. 3 to 4 years of rebuild do to the AD. " I WILL SHOW YOU WHO IS THE BOSS!!!!
He likes anything negative about PSU or Campbell - he is the biggest BGJ fanboy azzkisser, we deserve better posters than him.Figures you would like an a$$clown.
That is probably a pretty reasonable "forecast" synopsis IMOWhen all is said and done,MC will take PSU football back to the 9-3, 10-2 range and not too much farther. just where jimmy frank had us. 3 to 4 years of rebuild do to the AD. " I WILL SHOW YOU WHO IS THE BOSS!!!!
Agreed. It's a mess Dr. Kraft (Fact is that Campbell had to fill 94 roster spots. 50 kids transferred out....all 29 commitments on the incoming class decommissioned and 15 kid graduate or moved onto the NFL. By contrast, Chesney had to fill 45 roster spots. So Campbell did indeed inherit a mess.

I was giving him more credit, I was thinking Lego Deathstar or Hogwarts. He’s especially proud of the three block high Lego tower he spent the offseason building.
Quality depth (quanity and quality) is the surest way to get beyond the 10-2 (which this team could have easily had, ala some unexpected injuries and questionalble play calling),When all is said and done,MC will take PSU football back to the 9-3, 10-2 range and not too much farther. just where jimmy frank had us. 3 to 4 years of rebuild do to the AD. " I WILL SHOW YOU WHO IS THE BOSS!!!!
